“Toni was great! She was very flexible with times, and my dog was very calm and relaxed when I returned home. She kept me updated on how things were going and is very nice!”

“It is no exaggeration to say Roxanne is a superstar dogsitter. I have 3 skittish Chihuahua mixes and have been struggling to find a sitter. Roxanne won them over on the very first day! She kept me updated with pictures and stories of what was happening. When I got home, she had also treated my home with care and everything was tidy and cared for. I will definitely be using Roxanne again! (When I say Roxanne's name to my dogs, they wag their tails!)”

“Kanaalaq did a great job with taking care of our three kitties and kept the house clean/nothing out of place. Responded to messages relatively quick when sitting and would send photos/updates on request.”

“Trisha was a great dog and house sitter. Our two young dogs were happy to see us come home but it was clear that they had been well taken care of. They ate well, which shows that they weren't stressed about our absence. They had obviously had a lot of attention. I recommend Trish wholeheartedly for anyone else. Karen”

“I recently left my pup with Tera while I were away, and it was hands-down the best decision I could have made. From our first meet-and-greet, Tera was warm, professional, and clearly passionate about dogs—she asked thoughtful questions about routines, favorite toys, and any quirks right away. She sent daily photo and video updates (which included some hilarious playtime moments and cozy nap shots), so Inever had to wonder if our dog was happy and safe. Our pup came home relaxed, well-exercised, and clearly adored Tera’s! Tera followed every instruction to the letter, kept the house spotless, and even went the extra mile with cleaning up the house. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and genuinely loving toward animals, Tera is the one. Thank you, Tera!!! 💖💖🐩🐩”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is that caring for animals has always been a normal part of my life. I grew up around animals and have experience caring for dogs of many ages and personalities, including energetic puppies and older dogs who need a slower pace and extra attention. I'm comfortable with the routines that come with good pet care: consistent feeding schedules, exercise, basic training reinforcement, and paying attention to changes in behavior that might mean a dog needs something. I have experience helping with puppy training basics life patience during walks, reinforcing commands, and keeping them mentally stimulated. I also understand that senior dogs sometimes need gentler exercise, more frequent bathroom breaks, and extra patience. In addition to dogs, I have experience working with animals in a farm environment, which taught me responsibility, consistency, and how important it is to pay attention to an animal's needs and body language. Because of that background, I'm calm, reliable, and comfortable around animals with different temperaments. Most importantly, I treat every pet like they're my own. I know how much trust it takes to leave your animal with someone else, and I take that responsibility seriously. Pet care has always been a natural part of my daily life. I grew up around animals and have experience caring for dogs of all ages, from energetic puppies to older dogs who need a slower pace and extra attention. I enjoy spending time outdoors walking dogs, playing with them, and making sure they feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. As a college student, I plan my schedule carefully, which allows me to stay organized and consistent with feeding times, walks, and check-ins. I genuinely enjoy being around animals, and spending time with them is something I look forward to throughout the week. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets. I make sure pets are always supervised, comfortable, and kept in a calm environment where they feel secure. In a client's home, I carefully follow the pet's normal routine for feeding, walks, medications, and playtime so they experience as little disruption as possible. I also pay close attention to behavior and body language to make sure pets are feeling safe and happy. I respect my clients' homes and keep spaces clean, secure doors and gates, and communicate regularly with updates and photos so owners can feel confident their pets are being well cared for.
“Natalie did a fabulous job caring for our two big dogs while we were out of town. Her communication is awesome, she asks great questions, keeps us informed and updated on our boys, and left the house clean. We felt comfortable knowing she was there and will put her at the top of the list for rebooking the next time we travel. Our pups were happy and content. Thank you Natalie!”
“Eva was excellent! She housesat for us and our two kitties for a week and a half. The kitties loved her, she was super responsive, sent great updates, and left the house spotless. We would gladly hire Eva again anytime! Thanks, Eva, for all your care while we were away ☺️”

About: my grandma has 5-10 golden retrievers that i have helped her take care of for the past 10 years sometimes taking care of them while she is out of town. pet care fits into my daily routine because i have a cat although he is pretty low maintenance i still feed him and make sure he has water throughout the day. i don’t have a fenced yard but i can take your dog on a bike ride with me if he/she is getting to cooped up. i can also take to dog park if that’s alright with the owner.

We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Babba is not feeling well she gave him timely medication and took care of him as her own. Our pet felt safe, loved, and truly cared for, and that meant everything to us. The had constant updates, he came home as a happy pet. So grateful — highly recommend!

Alexis was amazing with our two large dogs! She checked in with us every day, sent pictures, and kept us completely at ease while we were away. It was clear the dogs were happy, well-cared for, and getting plenty of love and attention. We came home to a clean house and two very content pups. We’ll absolutely book Alexis again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful sitter!

Maral and Jeff did a great job with our dogs while we were away. Our Schipperke always goes on a hunger strike when we leave but it didn’t last as long as usual with them. They were experts with getting our Shiba Inu to take a bath. Lots of pictures and information. Would highly recommend using them.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North Lakewood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North Lakewood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Lakewood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
