“I’ve booked Eric twice now to watch my cats, and I couldn’t be happier. He’s easy to work with, very communicative, and always reliable. I have total peace of mind while I’m away knowing my cats are in good hands. I especially love that he lets my cat Mickey enjoy some time outside on the balcony and sends me photos of him playing—it makes me feel so connected while I’m gone. When I come home, my cats are happy and well cared for. I highly recommend Eric to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter!”

“Silvana took care of our cat and 2 birds while we were out of town for the weekend. She did a wonderful job and we couldn't have been happier with the attentive care she provided. She clearly followed my instructions, sent detailed updates on how they were doing, and sent some great photos! Thank you Silvana! We would love to hire you again!”

“Erin provided wonderful care for my cats! She has great communication & my babies are lucky to have such a caring sitter. She has a calming and reassuring presence and will win over the shyest of cats. Thank you!”

“I highly recommend Benjamin! He was great. Always showed up when he said he would, kept my cat happy! He was also very accommodating with adding on an extra day last second when my travel back home hit a bump. Thanks Benjamin!”

About: Hello! My name is Ananya and I am currently an undergrad student. I have flexible hours and would love to use my time to help care for your pets. Animals have always been a joyful part of my life and have inspired my choice in schooling. I spent hours bonding with my nanny's dog growing up and helping friends care for their pets. These experiences taught me the importance of active playtime, consistent routines, and the gentleness required for animal care. I also bring formal animal handling experience from my time volunteering at the Sammamish Animal Sanctuary. While my time there was spent caring for farm animals, it instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility, understanding of the importance of safety protocols, and the ability to read animal body language. I treat every pet with respect, patience, and enthusiasm. I look forward to helping out in any way I can! I am currently taking a summer class and I drive my siblings to practice during the week. However, I am available most weekdays before 9:00am and after 12:00pm. Except on Mondays as I am unavailable after 5:00pm. Weekends are completely free aside from occasional plans. During the school year my schedule is variable and I will update my availability at the end of September. For house sitting and drop-in visits I will treat your home with care and adhere to any routines and rules. I respect your pets schedule for feeding, potty breaks, enrichment, and relaxation to minimize anxiety. I will also send updates so you never have to wonder what your pet is doing. For walking services my focus is safety, communication, and fun! I make sure your pup is prepped and all gear is good to go before heading out. I will monitor weather and avoid busy areas as your pets comfort is my priority. I treat walks as the highlight of the day and encourage sniffing time, play, lots of positive encouragement, and of course potty breaks. And for all my services, I am not afraid to get my hands dirty and keep things clean.
“Rachel has been amazing with Millie. She goes above and beyond. She is a great communicator and takes care of Millie as if she was her own dog. It gives me so much peace to be at work knowing my dog is getting loved on so well by Rachel.”

“Zhaoli did a great job checking in on our Winnie. She was very communicative with us throughout her 2 visits. Our girl gets very scared at first but warmed up soon to her. Zhaoli left the house in great shape as well. I would definitely recommend her. Thanks so much for taking care of Winnie while we were out!”

About: No time spent with a pet is wasted! I love animals so much, and am super accommodating to the type of attention they want. My cats and dog are so important to me-as I imagine yours are to you-so I’d love to help take care of yours while you’re away! I am currently working freelance roles, so my availability is very open and flexible. This means I’m happy to accommodate yours pets usual routine times. Pets are so special. I will provide both a calming and/or energetic presence depending on their personality. I’m very reliable and on-time, and will make sure your pets needs and wants are met!

“Emma did a wonderful job taking care of our two cats over the holidays. Even our skittish one would come out for them. We loved the daily photos we received and the quick communication. Great job, we will definitely hire again.”

“Ace was wonderful and super reliable with stopping in to take care of our dog Brinley. Ace was super communicative, writing us cute descriptions of how Brinley was doing and sending photos. Overall it gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing Brinley was in good hands!”
About: Our fur baby, Maggie, a chocolate lab recently passed away at 13. We'd had her since she was 8 weeks so the house feels too quiet now. We miss her so much and while we can't commit to getting our own dog again just yet, we'd love to help care for your fur baby while you travel. Since we do have two kids though we need to ensure the pets we host are non-aggressive and good with kids. My husband and I work full time from home and we miss our daily walks with Maggie. Our schedules allow for the flexibility for walks, potty breaks, and play time. We're fortunate that we have a high, privacy fenced in yard to allow for great outdoor play time. We will only host one dog at a time so your special pet will receive 1x1 care. We do have children so it's important your dog has been around kids before.
“Timea was a great pet sitter! Communication was excellent, and her daily reports were very detailed, giving me total peace of mind while away. She was super accommodating with our schedule and needs. I would rebook with her in a heartbeat and highly recommend her!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Ames Lake
Ben did a great job with our three cats. He arrived reliably to take care of their necessities, and ensured each cat got some attention and play time. This was especially important for our most skittish cat who can be hard to coax out, especially when her brothers like to hog the toys. We immediately noticed when we got home that she was more interactive and assertive at play time which is fantastic. He always sent us pictures and short videos from each visit, and we looked forward to each of them daily. We would definitely hire him again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
