“Ashley is amazing!!! She’s thoughtful, caring and respectful. My dog absolutely took to her instantly and had the best safest weekend. I can’t thank her enough and will be using her again!”

“Jessica was absolutely amazing!! She sent us updates multiple times a day and has amazing communication. It helped us relax on vacay knowing she was taking such good care of our babies. Im recommending her to everyone I know that will be going out of town. Thank you so much Jessica ur the best!!!”

“Kelley was fantastic with my pups and took into account all their quirks! She even got my really picky eater to eat all his meals. The house was even cleaner than I left it when we got back!”

“Tania was so nice, trustworthy and on time. She communicates great. She sent updates and pictures while we were gone. She’s a very nice person and I definitely will be using her again.”

“Vicki is amazing! I had to book super last minute because I was worried about leaving my cat alone, and she was so nice and willing to help. She stayed with him overnight, gave him lots of attention and playtime, and honestly helped calm my nerves so much knowing he was with someone who cared. She was super sweet, reliable, and easy to communicate with. My cat seemed so happy and comfortable with her! I would definitely book with her again.”

“Hannah was beyond patient and flexible with our anxious dog!! She knew exactly what he needed and when. She kept us updated the entire time and was quick to respond. We will definitely use her again!”

“Ashley did a great job watching our dog, Angel, while we were on vacation. She kept the house spic-n-span, did the dishes, stripped the bed, took out the trash, etc. She followed all the directions we left her and was responsive when contacted. We would definitely hire her again if needed.”
“Louann took very good care of Lexi. Lexi was glad to see us when we got home, but is missing Louann. I would highly recommend Louann as both a pet sitter as well as a house sitter.”
“Magee was wonderful! She stayed at the house and took great care of the dogs and the house. She really put my mind at ease knowing that she was there watching over everything. She also sent text updates with pics and videos. We will definitely be booking her again and again!”

“Logan was absolutely awesome! We received updates every day and felt so comfortable and confident while away on our trip! Her care and attention to detail was exceptional! Her ability to bond and create a relationship with our pup was out of this world! We are truly grateful to Logan and encourage any pet owner out there who is looking for a sitter to give her a try right away!”

“Wow!!! I can honestly say I never thought I could feel so comfortable with a “stranger” in my house and taking care of my dogs. Jen clearly is a professional who knows what she’s doing and LOVES the doggies. From our first meet and greet where she did all the right things introducing our pups and helping me feel comfortable, to coming home to a freshly swept, mopped house where she washed her own sheets, cleaned out our kitty litter, and brushed our dogs multiple times...it was a DREAM! I used to sit myself and I didn’t think I’d ever find someone as attuned to detail as I am. I got multiple video and picture updates daily and she stuck to her word on how long the dogs would be alone, making sure they were always fed and played with while she was home. She is honestly worth every penny and then some. And to top it all off, I feel as though I’ve made a new friend :) BEST DOG/HOUSE SITTER EVER!!!”

“Ethan is a great sitter who takes care of our sweet pup who seems to really enjoy his company. We come home to a happy girl and our house as we left it. Ethan is definitely worth recommending!”

“Kayli was absolutely wonderful with our dogs, Violet and Orion, during her 5-day stay. Since this was our first time using Rover and having an in-home pet sitter, we were naturally a little nervous — especially because both dogs can be shy at first. Violet is a Great Dane/pitbull mix with a big personality once she’s comfortable, and Orion is an elderly Black Lab/pitbull mix who is calm and quiet. Kayli was incredibly patient with them, and once they warmed up to her, they clearly adored her. She sent thoughtful updates and photos 3 times a day, which gave us so much peace of mind and truly allowed us to relax and enjoy our vacation without worrying about our pets. Kayli did an amazing job caring for both of their very different personalities and needs. We also came home to a perfectly tidy house, exactly as we left it. We would absolutely book with Kayli again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter.”

“She is a great pet sitter. We have older pets who have medications and are on specific schedules. Anna asked great questions during our meet and greet and made me have confidence in booking her. Our pets seemed to enjoy her presence and looked liked they warmed up to her quickly. We look forward to working with her in the future!”

“Keri was absolutely fantastic! She took great care of my home and my cat while I was away. Communication was consistent and thoughtful, with regular updates and photos that gave me total peace of mind. My cat was clearly happy, comfortable, and well cared for when I returned, and my house was in perfect condition. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy sitter, and I would gladly book them again.”

“Haley is the best sitter we have had! She takes the time to meet and understand your dogs’ needs first. I really appreciate all the updates she provides-videos, photos and messages so you know what is going on with your babies. She is extremely kind to my dogs and communicates very well. Highly recommend!”

About: I have always been around dogs since I was young. I've owned three dogs of my own. I have worked with animals as a kennel tech, veterinary assistant and vet tech. I have experience taking care of senior dogs, young dogs, puppies. I have currently own a Belgian malinois who is a retired police dog, and I regularly work with him teaching him new skills as a working dog. I really enjoy working dogs and training them. I love being outdoors and getting down and dirty with my dogs swimming in the lake, I love bathing dogs and going for runs and walks. I currently work from home as a full time artist, so I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule. I like taking breaks from painting to be outdoors and play with dogs. Since I'm home a lot the dogs won't be left alone in the crate. I am very attentive to dogs health and behavior. Having experience in the veterinary industry helps because I can pick up right away if there is something wrong.
“Casey was great at communicating all the way from when we were looking for someone to pet sit all the way through her stay. She would send us pictures of the kitty crew. 😺 She stayed the night at our home while we were away. Would definitely use Casey again!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Allison walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Allison maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Allison choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Allison. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
