About: I've connected deeply with animals my whole life, and began caring for them around age 11. I grew up with dogs and cats, and have a great love for all creatures. Cats are my specialty, though my skills are also effective with dogs and all kinds of other animals. I am a Cat Whisperer with extensive knowledge and experience. My cats remain at optimal health due to my physical and energetic care of them. I provide Reiki services (energy healing) that is very effective with animals. For now, I'm offering my Reiki treatments for free as I am new to Rover (with purchase of Day Visits, House Sitting, or Dog Walking). I also have experience with animal hospice care, during which the Reiki treatments are especially supportive. Here's a review of my care for a 21+ year old cat who was nearing the end of her life: "You have a gift, and Princess and I are blessed to be on the receiving end of your gift. Yes, you’re a kitty-sitter, and yes you helped with her urinating outside of the box, but what you’re offering is much much much deeper than that. I think you have a calling for this, well, I don’t “think” - I know you have a calling for this, and I am just so grateful that we found you and so grateful to be on the receiving end of your gift.” -Arthur, February 2026 So I've been doing animal care for a long time with shining 5 star reviews, I'm just new to Rover! ✨😊✨ I'm self-employed with a very flexible schedule. I can work with you to sculpt the ideal care that your pet(s) needs. We can talk about possibilities✨ My pets and my client's pets are a top priority and I take it very seriously. My own cats benefit from the highest quality food, attention, and environment. I provide gentle focused care with therapeutic touch & massage. I am highly attuned to their needs & emotions. While I am a Cat Whisperer, my care for all animals goes above and beyond. I treat others as I want to be treated: keeping honesty, safety, and high quality care with positive loving energy at the forefront.

About: I love animals with my whole heart! I've taken care of and grown up with dogs my whole life. I personally have a lab (who loves other dogs) that I have raised since 8 weeks old. I love teaching her new tricks and commands. I love going on walks and snuggling up with all the fur babies. Trust be when I say I will take care of you baby as my own and my dog is my whole world I am a night shift nurse so I'm home all day and off 4 nights out of the week. I've had a dog the whole time I have been a nurse so I'm very used to getting up during the day and caring for her and switching my schedule I have a lab who loves other dogs, she is fixed so no need to worry about babies. I am happy to allow your dogs on the furniture or in the bed or however you do things at home. I'm also comfortable with crate training if that is your preference!

About: I have had dogs most of my life that I helped take care. I ended up getting my own dog when I moved. I have my own place and love to have dogs stay while their parents are away. I work at Shands in the emergency room but have enough space for a safe pen when I’m away. I have a small dog park in my complex that I take my dogs to in the evening. I have 2 dogs that are friendly and enjoy making new friends. I also keep dogs separate when I am not home. We like to go to the dog park in the evenings when it’s not so hot

About: I have been caring for animals my whole life, including having had cats, dogs, fish, and as a pet. I am familiar with caring for older animals that have lost the ability to fully care for themselves, caring for puppies or kittens, and pets with disabilities (blind, or sick etc.). So I am qualified to care for a pet at any age and just about any level of health! I work my own hours at my job and I have no scheduled weekly activities so I am free to come by and help at almost any day/time! I care for my cat at home by spending time with her playing and cuddling when I am free, letting her curl up with me in bed, and having her sit with me while I cook or do homework! In a client's home I would be interacting with the pets, feeding them, walking them to give them good exercise (for applicable pets), giving them cuddles and love, and providing a safe, clean space for them!

I’m currently unemployed I do a few babysitting jobs here and there but my schedule is very open I always move my schedule around to fit the needs of the pets I’m babysitting and of their owners as I like to make sure to stick to their daily routine so the pet feels comfortable I live in a mobile home so no fenced in yard my fur babies get walked on a leash and certain times of the day usually when there’s no other dogs around as mine are small dogs they get nervous around big dogs but they are very friendly I make sure to keep them safe always checking the surroundings I’m very protective of my fur babies but also those that are in my care make sure they are safe well fed and clean i usually have wipes for my babies that I use in between baths or if their paws get dirty I’ll clean them up I also check to see if they need nail trimming and I give them treats when they are well behaved which is all the time I run around with them when inside of the house they do have a kennel usually in their when it’s bed time and sometimes during the day when I’m babysitting kids they tend to get nervous but are super friendly with kids they just sometimes get overwhelmed so I put them in their safe space and they’ll usually sleep or play around with their stuffed toys and I’ll take them out either every thirty minutes to an hour or every two hours to either go potty or to walk around the house

About: I’ve grown up around animals and have hands on experience caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities. I’ve fostered a variety of breeds from Great Danes to dachshunds and Rottweilers so I’m comfortable with different temperaments and needs. For the past 6 months, I’ve also been helping with pet sitting and dog care, including walks, feeding, playtime, and providing a calm, consistent routine. I always aim to make pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I’m based in Branford and commute to Gainesville for college, so my schedule can vary slightly throughout the semester. That said, I do my best to be flexible and accommodate requests whenever possible. I’m typically available for care in both areas, including weekends and many weekdays, including holidays with a proper heads up, and I’m happy to coordinate times that work best for you and your pet’s routine. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take time to understand each pet’s routine, preferences, and any special needs. I’m experienced handling dogs with different energy levels and temperaments, and I always prioritize secure environments, proper leash handling, and careful supervision. I provide regular updates so you can feel confident your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.

About: I've had many dogs growing up, from small to large-sized. I also watched friends and neighbors' pets while they were out of town. Ever since then, I’ve seen the warmth dogs bring to a home. Once I got my dog, Larry, a few years ago, I understood the work of taking care of a dog. My best memories are with dogs and I hope that I can provide the love and responsibility that every dog deserves. I was working full time at a bakery but took some time off for educational reasons, and currently spend time with my dog Larry and would like to help take care of other animals as well. My dog has a fenced-in backyard where we play with his beloved chuck it ball. I take Larry on plenty of walks, the length depends on the temperature and weather. We hike around Kanapaha park, the botanical gardens, and San Felasco.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alachua choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Alachua with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Alachua. On Rover:

  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
