“Ayni and Alfonsus were wonderful! They sent me updates the whole evening and Frankie seemed very comfortable and had a great time. Will definitely book with them again!”

“April took wonderful care of Toby during his day with her! She made sure he got plenty of walks and sent tons of adorable photos to keep me updated. She’s incredibly friendly, easy to communicate with, and very responsive. I could tell Toby had a great time. I would definitely trust and recommend April!”

“Oli is a very loving, conscientious, accommodating and responsible dog sitter. I appreciate her awareness of a dog's energy and I knew Scout was in good hands with her, so I never have to worry about her when she's with Oli. I also appreciated the follow up on the first day along with pics to assure me Scout felt settled in.”

About: Hi! I can’t wait to meet your beloved fur babies! I spent the past three years working full time at an animal sanctuary where I cared for horses, dogs, cats, goats, and sheep. My passion is riding horses and hiking with dogs. I've owned & loved 4 of my own horses, 4 dogs, 6 cats and several smaller animals in my life. I am an avid hiker and love being outside on my next adventure - hopefully with your pooch next! It's a true pleasure to enjoy the company of your beloved dog, horse, cat or other beloved family member. I'm a lucky mommy of two daughters ages 11 & 9 years who love animals as much as I do. They often join me in the animal care. I can't wait to help spoil your babies! My schedule is currently fairly open and flexible. I am especially available early in the morning and later in the afternoon/evening. Sat and especially Sunday are usually totally open for me. I would prefer to go to other people's homes to care for there pets however I could take one or possibly two smaller dogs in my own home. I do not have a yard but I go on long walks and have trails all around me.
“Mary had a nice home environment that I felt very comfortable leaving my 10 month old puppy at. I really appreciated the communication and photos throughout the half-day drop off!”

“Colton loved his time with AnnaDee and Julio. They were easy to work with, sent cute photos and he got lots of playtime, attention, and came home super happy and tired. Just how you want them at the end of the day. Thank you!🙏”

About: I would love to help you with your small sized dog who would have the company of my sweet 4 year old mini Australian Shepherd. I work from home and your fur-baby will have care all day. I have one small fenced yard with Astro turf and am surrounded by great parks. Your pup’s unique needs will guide my care. I work from home and have 4 yo Mini Australian Shepherd who is very sweet and gentle with little dogs, and very confident and relaxed. I live in a two story condominium with beautiful grounds for easy walking and near lush green parks. I work from home and have 4 yo Mini Australian Shepherd who is very sweet and gentle with little dogs, and very confident and relaxed. She enjoys two walks a day, one in the morning, and one in the evening, and a mid-day hang in the grass. She enjoys the company of other dogs.
“Brittany is great! We had never used a sitter or taken our dog to doggy daycare before so we were a little nervous, but Brittany responded quickly, sent multiple pictures throughout the day, and our dog loved her. Will definitely book with her again!”

“Mando was very flexible as we were scheduling. As I have a giant breed puppy, it takes someone strong (physically and mentally) and he was able to handle my giant baby adeptly. He posted lots of photos as well.”

About: I'm a sensitive, caring responsible individual who loves to play with dogs and with whom dogs love to play. I've worked at the Glendale, CA Humane Society Shelter walking dogs and really enjoyed the experience. I've owned dogs for a good part of my life. However, I recently had to put Taffy, my last dog, to sleep. She was 16 and not doing well. It was heart wrenching and I thought perhaps that rather getting another, I could give the love I have for dogs to others, without having the ultimate burden of ownership. I live in Agoura Hills, CA. There lots of room for dogs to walk and play, lots of trees and grass for dogs to sniff and explore. There are also lots of other dogs in the community and opportunities for dogs to socialize, if the owners and the dogs want. I have a fenced yard and I work from home. I have a flexible schedule. Consequently, I can adapt my schedule to your dog's schedule. I have a fenced yard and I have no other dogs. Even though the house is on two levels, it's easy for dogs to navigate.
“Magenka is an amazing sitter, we’re lucky we found her here on Rover. She’s incredibly caring, attentive, and sweet towards Bilbo. I felt at ease knowing my anxious dog was in such good hands. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for someone who truly loves and cares for pet.”

“Would absolutely recommend David and will be a continuing client. He took great care of my furry little guy and kept me updated with pictures and videos Necio also looked very comfortable in his hands when dropped off and was in a very happy mood. It was comforting to know my furry guy was in great hands.”

“This is my first time using Rover and I am very satisfied. Melissa was a fantastic and reliable sitter for my sick little Romeo. Melissa did everything as I requested and kept my dog comfortable by cuddling, which he loved. 🥰 Melissa picked up my dog and brought back to the hotel with short time change request which I appreciate very much! I highly recommend Melissa and Rover!”

About: What sets me apart is that I genuinely treat every pet as if they were my own. I understand that every animal has a unique personality, routine, and comfort level, so I take the time to make them feel safe, loved, and at ease while you’re away. I work from home! We have a huge double fenced in yard. Animals are therapy. I had farm animals for years and ready to just give love to dogs and cats. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I carefully follow each pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, and any special instructions. In your home, I treat your space with the utmost respect while maintaining a calm, clean, and secure environment. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and needs, ensuring they receive plenty of exercise, affection, and supervision. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, loved, and as comfortable as possible while you’re away, giving you complete peace of mind.
“I'm very grateful for Mobina being able to accommodate my sweet puppy so last minute. Loomi seemed relaxed when she came back from her stay here and I really appreciated all the great updates on how my little girl was doing. Thank you again!”

“I had such a great experience with Kiya! He was incredibly accommodating, kind, and trustworthy from the start. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone reliable and compassionate to care for their dog!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Agoura
My furry kids apparently LOVE this daycare, so I guess they have officially approved it 😂 Communication was clear, they felt safe, and they came home happy. Lucifer apparently decided he was the most spoiled one there because he got plenty of attention, Legend loved it too, and Lumen absolutely loves Alfonsus. They definitely want to come back and play again. Their only complaint? The heat outside, so honestly, blame the sun. We’ll probably wait for cooler weather because apparently California decided to become an oven. Other than that, I’m really glad Ayni and Alfonsus are good people with my kids. Their dad is very strict about who takes care of them, and even he felt much better after seeing all the photos and updates. So thank you both for taking such good care of my furry kids! 🖤

Bagel had a great time with Oli and Benji. Oli was very communicative and understanding with a last minute request and couple of changes around timings. Would definitely recommend Oli for anyone looking for a local sitter, Bagel came back happy and relaxed both days.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
