“So happy for this experience for our fur babies! Our dogs very much seemed to be in great company with Kassandra. We loved the updates and pictures from her throughout their stay with her. She was very communicative and flexible with us through the booking process and the actual stay as well. Looking forward to keeping in touch with her for our needs in the future!”

“Jennifer always goes above and beyond. My puppy is extremely picky with his food and often needs something different to encourage him to eat. This time, she even fed him by hand—and it worked.”

“Tania was amazing and my pet Daisy liked her very much . She sent daily updates and took my girl on long walks which she loves . When picking her up I saw her tail going nuts and that showed how much my pet liked her. She in fact offered her a toy that Daisy picked up when she was in her care . Thank you very much for the affection you showed towards my girl.”

“Katrina was very kind and kept me informed thru texts and photos. She also took good care of Murphy and continued with his ear care regimen. Murphy seemed to enjoy playing with Katrina’s kids too!”

“Nicole was an excellent pet sitter. She sent me pictures and daily updates about Cinnamon, and she took her out on walks and took good care of her. I would definitely hire her again and recommend her to others.”

“Liceth was great with Cinnamon! I really appreciate her routine and allowing my dog to get to know her dogs before agreeing to sit. She updated me everyday with pictures and videos. I will definitely consider her again!”

“As always Charissa & Shawn are amazing with the fur babies and I couldn’t be more grateful for them taking in my fur baby when possible. Thank you again and till next time.”

“Michael and family were great! He was very responsive and checked in every day. You could tell he cared for my fur baby and took great care of her. He listened to her routine and also spoiled her with lots of snuggles and attention. I’m not sure she actually wanted to come home! I would 100% recommend Michael- and I will be sending my fur baby to daycare camp with him again!”

“Donna is such a lovely and kind person and took excellent care of our dog. He is shy, timid and cautiously friendly but it didn’t take him too long at all to start trusting her and getting comfortable! Donna kept us updated with texts and photos throughout his stay. We felt completely at ease knowing he was with her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter!”

“This is the second time we have boarded with Ms. Anna - I cannot say enough praise - she is amazing with our high energy Husky! She sent updates and photos and genuinely loves animals. She is our go-to caregiver :)”

“We moved to Lancaster recently and were anxious about finding a good and reliable dog sitter. We were so happy with how she cared for our dog in her home and won’t hesitate to use her again. Highly recommend!”

“This is the first time we have had to leave our fur baby with someone other than family. Tristan was agreeable to a meet and greet to make sure we would feel comfortable with the arrangement. We received pictures during her stay with Tristan that put us at ease, knowing our fur baby was content and well cared for. Thank you, Tristan and Jen, for taking such good care of Zoey!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
