About: I have taken care of dogs a lot throughout my life. I used to walk dogs in my neighborhood all the time. 4 years ago I got my own puppy and trained him. Now we walk around 5 miles everyday I walk my dog multiple times a day and I love to go on long walks. I have a waitressing job in the summer and I like to spend the rest of my days outside playing with dogs. I care for my puppy so much and I am always playing with him and never leaving him by himself. I make sure that he is always happy and healthy

“Barb is the greatest and the best! We are always happy when she has an opening for us. The dog is calm and relaxed, and we get to see the walks she took while we were gone! Barb is flexible and patient with the dog and with us. Thanks, Barb!”

About: Hi, my name’s Matt and I have been taking care of various kinds of animals since I was 12. Fish, guinea pigs, hamsters, bearded dragons, dogs, and cats. You name it we’ve most likely had it. I’ll make sure your animals are loved for and have a blast while you’re gone. I can work with young puppies and senior dogs as well. I can be available by Friday afternoons if given at least a weeks notice and can stay until Sunday night or early Monday morning. I currently have two cats and a dog. Nani is my dog and she has a fence for the backyard but I can also take her out for walks or out on a leash if needed. I feed her once a day with dry and wet food. I also give her baths and clean up her poop in the yard. The two cats are indoor cats and I play with them, clean their litter boxes, change their water, and feed them.

I have 12 years of experience taking care of my own dog as well as caring for other pets, and about 5 years of experience with cats. I’ve also grown up around smaller pets, including guinea pigs and hamsters. I’ve been pet sitting for the past couple of years and genuinely love getting to know each pet’s personality and routine. I’m comfortable with dogs and cats of different ages and personalities, and I’m also comfortable administering oral medication. Lia was wonderful!! I’ve never used Rover before and I’m grateful she made it an awesome first experience. She initiated a meet and greet before our trip which made it super easy to get her a key and show her through everything she needed to know to watch after the cats. While we were away, she proactively sent lots of pictures and updates which I loved. She also quickly responded to any questions or requests I had. On top of taking great care of the cats, she even watered our plant. I could tell through the pictures just how comfortable the cats were with her which gave me peace of mind while being away. Overall, 10/10 and we are so glad we had Lia looking after Pepper and Periwinkle!!

Sarafina did a great job caring for my cat, Lawrence! He just needed daily drop-in visits and she sent lots of photos. She stopped by beforehand to make sure she knew exactly what he needed and was friendly and knowledgeable! She did an excellent job with my instructions and gave him plenty of playtime while she stopped in. I highly recommend Sarafina for any of your pets needs!

My weird cats and I adore Allie. I volunteered at a couple of shelters / rescues and truly have some quirky cats, but Allie acted like they were as normal as they come. She was not fazed by their individual eating preferences, oral meds, and sometimes cranky attitudes. Allie also sent daily updates with photos and I have not felt this at ease traveling in a very long time. I'm sure Allie is excellent with dogs, but if you are looking for someone who is amazing with cats, this is your sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Abington. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
