“Courtney has been amazing! We got stuck out of the country, and she stepped up to help make sure my 3 cats were taken care of. She even made extra visits when my elderly ill cat had accidents. Thank you for making sure my cats were safe and cared for when I couldn’t be there!”

“Lucy was amazing! Truly cared about our cat Gary. She did a great job giving him insulin shots and his other medications. Sent lots of great pictures and messages and was always quick to respond. Just a great communicator. Very impressed with every part of working with her. Would recommend and will definitely work with her again!”

“Appreciated the help checking in on our pups with a last-minute booking! Isaiah was patient and understanding with us and our anxious pups while we navigated this first time Rover experience.”

About: Hi, my name’s Matt and I have been taking care of various kinds of animals since I was 12. Fish, guinea pigs, hamsters, bearded dragons, dogs, and cats. You name it we’ve most likely had it. I’ll make sure your animals are loved for and have a blast while you’re gone. I can work with young puppies and senior dogs as well. Please reach out to me to inquire about availability and to set up a meet and greet. I will also send lots of pictures and updates. I currently have availability from Friday to Sunday. I can be available by Friday afternoons if given at least a weeks notice and can stay until Sunday night or early Monday morning. I currently have two cats and a dog. Nani is my dog and she has a fence for the backyard but I can also take her out for walks or out on a leash if needed. I feed her once a day with dry and wet food. I also give her baths and clean up her poop in the yard. The two cats are indoor cats and I play with them, clean their litter boxes, change their water, and feed them.
“Ally was great watching Freyja! She was very communicative and did her best to connect with a very shy kitty. I received great updates on how she was doing and proof of services. Thank you!”

“I was kept updated & received pictures of my senior girl when while we were away for 12 hours. She was happy & content. Becky & Christian are great to deal with!”
“Cathy was all I could have hoped for in a caregiver for my sweet kitty. She was loving and followed my directions carefully. Philly was happy to see me when I got home, but calm and content. She had eaten her normal amount of food and Cathy sent pics of Philly playing! The pics were very reassuring. Thank you Cathy.”

“Barb is the greatest and the best! We are always happy when she has an opening for us. The dog is calm and relaxed, and we get to see the walks she took while we were gone! Barb is flexible and patient with the dog and with us. Thanks, Barb!”

“So glad we found Rachel! Ace warmed up to her right away, and he was SO excited when I got home the day of her first drop-in…I swear he was trying to tell me he had a friend over 😂. Rachel is a great communicator and so sweet! Highly recommend!”

About: My name is Christian. I am kind, gentle, and fun loving. I will walk, run, exercise, and play fetch with your dog and care for him/her as if he/she were one of my own. I will walk any dog, any size, age, or breed. I’ve always enjoyed dogs a lot. Your dogs will have such a fun time they won’t want to leave. I am available seven days a week rain or shine and my hours are flexible. No matter what, you can count on me to walk your dog. If you require any special requests just let me know and I will see what I can do. If you need your pet washed I can do that too. I look forward to walking your dog!
“My weird cats and I adore Allie. I volunteered at a couple of shelters / rescues and truly have some quirky cats, but Allie acted like they were as normal as they come. She was not fazed by their individual eating preferences, oral meds, and sometimes cranky attitudes. Allie also sent daily updates with photos and I have not felt this at ease traveling in a very long time. I'm sure Allie is excellent with dogs, but if you are looking for someone who is amazing with cats, this is your sitter!”

When providing walks or drop-in visits, I focus on giving your pet my full, undivided attention and maintaining the specific routine they need to feel secure. I am extremely detail-oriented. “We had a wonderful experience with Jenna and will absolutely use her again. This was our first time hiring her to care for our cats, and she exceeded our expectations in every way. Jenna was communicative throughout our time away, sending regular updates and photos, and was not afraid to reach out with questions when needed. It gave us great peace of mind knowing our cats were in such attentive hands. She also cleaned up any pet messes and went above and beyond, helping with our garden while we were away. What really stood out was how quickly our cats warmed up to her. One of our cats is usually shy and tends to run and hide when meeting new people, but she stayed put and happily accepted head scratches from Jenna, a true testament to her calm and caring demeanor with animals. Jenna is reliable, thoughtful, and clearly loves animals. We came home to happy cats and a well cared for house, and we highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter.”

“Keri did an excellent job making sure our cats were happy while we were away! She is kind, thorough, and very communicative, as well as great with animals. Highly recommend booking with her!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Abington
We were privileged enough to have Ally care for our two cats while we went on an extended trip to take care of family business. Without a doubt, Ally is a professional and very caring for the four footed family members in her care. She is a strong recommend. There was a minor medical emergency involving our cat scratching herself too deeply, leaving an open wound. She alerted us immediately and we were able to arrange for timely vetting. We're glad to have met her through Rover and encourage you to seek her out for pet sitting you need.

Lia was wonderful!! I’ve never used Rover before and I’m grateful she made it an awesome first experience. She initiated a meet and greet before our trip which made it super easy to get her a key and show her through everything she needed to know to watch after the cats. While we were away, she proactively sent lots of pictures and updates which I loved. She also quickly responded to any questions or requests I had. On top of taking great care of the cats, she even watered our plant. I could tell through the pictures just how comfortable the cats were with her which gave me peace of mind while being away. Overall, 10/10 and we are so glad we had Lia looking after Pepper and Periwinkle!!

Sarafina did a great job caring for my cat, Lawrence! He just needed daily drop-in visits and she sent lots of photos. She stopped by beforehand to make sure she knew exactly what he needed and was friendly and knowledgeable! She did an excellent job with my instructions and gave him plenty of playtime while she stopped in. I highly recommend Sarafina for any of your pets needs!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Abington. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
