About: I have been taking care of dogs for about 10 years now. I own 3 dogs myself and take care of them everyday. I have also worked at an overnight boarding place for animals, volunteered at animal shelters, fed many pets, walked many dogs, and I hope to continue bettering animals. I am currently working a part-time job however, i am available after 4:30pm on weekdays. I am fully available on weekends! Please send me a message if you are confused about my availability! I will make sure your pets have everything they need whether that’s attention, belly rubs, extra potty breaks, long walks, or even a cuddle buddy

About: As a lifelong animal lover, I bring a wealth of experience caring for a variety of pets, including cats, dogs, birds, fish, and reptiles. Growing up in a home filled with pets, I’ve developed a deep understanding and comfort in grooming, walking, feeding, and engaging with your furry companions. Rest assured, I will treat your pets with the same love and attention I give my own! I embrace all breeds and types of animals without discrimination, and I'm committed to providing a warm and welcoming environment for your fur babies. As a mother of two energetic boys, your pets will receive an abundance of love and companionship while they're in my care. My sister will also lend a helping, if needed, giving your pets the extra attention and care they deserve. I can’t wait to make your pets' time with us a joyful experience! I’m currently a full time student and mother. I am very flexible with my schedule with the exception of the hours 8-9a and 330-415p for school pickup. In my home or my client’s home, I prioritize a safe and comfortable environment tailored to each pet's individual needs. Most importantly, I provide an abundance of love and attention, keeping pet owners updated with photos and messages so they can feel connected while their furry companions are in my care.

Ehlaura was amazing. Not only did she take my booking last minute, but she took GREAT care of my senior dogs. There were multiple curve balls over the few days she stayed with them and she was very communicative about everything. My dogs certainly gave her a run for her money, but she handled everything so well and made me incredibly glad that I’d found her so last minute. I would have been much more worried about my dogs without her great care and communication.

About: I’ve been pet sitting since I was in 7th grade (now a recent college graduate!!) and am looking to start searching for clients consistently again. I’ve watched over cats and dogs and also have experience with with both species that required medication. Growing up with two diabetic cats (and then some) allowed me to learn how to administer insulin by myself and how to administer pills. Being able to trust someone with your pet is hard and knowing they’re in good hands is a huge stress reliever. My goal is to not only to watch over and care for your pet(s), but to take the weight off your shoulders when you aren’t able to be home with them. I am currently looking for a full time job and being a pet sitter will allow me to earn a little extra on the side. I do not board pets as I don't have a current permanent residence of my own (living with my partner and their family), but am more than willing to stay overnight in a clients home. I ensure safety by checking in on a clients pet regularly should I not be needed 24/7 and make sure to not only watch, but care for the clients pet. My visits (when sleeping over isn’t required) typically range from 1 hour or a little over to be able to spend quality time with a clients pet(s), especially when the owner is gone for a longer period of time.

About: I am a licensed attorney by day and lifelong animal lover at heart. I currently work remotely with a flexible schedule while spending time in Virginia helping and supporting my mother as she approaches retirement. My flexibility allows me to provide attentive, reliable care for pets throughout the day, evenings, and overnight stays. I began my own small dog-walking business in San Francisco while I was in college and later worked through Rover walking large-breed dogs and cat-sitting while studying for the California Bar Exam and working as a paralegal. I am comfortable with both small and large dogs, but I especially love giant breeds like Great Danes. I also adore cats and currently have my own beloved cat, DJ Mustard, who has made me even more attentive to feline personalities, routines, and comfort. Animals have always brought joy and grounding to my life. I believe pets deserve patient, loving, observant care and that owners should feel completely comfortable while away from home. I am calm, responsible, communicative, and genuinely enjoy getting to know each animal’s unique personality and routines. For overnight stays, I also offer optional extras at a bargain cost including homemade pet treats from recipes I have developed myself as well as seasonal or holiday-themed pet portraits and photos. I offer discounts for teachers and service members in honor of my mother, who is a teacher, and my grandfather, who served in the United States Navy. Whether your pet needs companionship, playtime, medication, overnight comfort, or simply someone dependable and kind, I would love the opportunity to care for them. As a remote professional with a flexible schedule, pet care naturally fits into my daily routine through walks, feeding, playtime, companionship, overnight care, and check-ins. Licensed attorney with extensive background checks who provides attentive in-home pet care, including walks, feeding, playtime, cleaning, companionship, overnight support, and thoughtful communication updates.

About: Hi! My name is Justin Wright, and I’m a lifelong animal lover with a passion for providing safe, loving care for pets. I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and currently have two Golden Retrievers of my own. From daily walks and playtime to grooming routines and learning each pet’s unique personality, I truly enjoy everything that comes with caring for animals. While my background is primarily with dogs, I love cats as well and would be happy to provide care for a variety of furry friends. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminology, and I currently work as an in-home mental health counselor. My experience working with people, behavior, and routines has helped me develop patience, responsibility, and strong attention to detail — qualities I bring into pet care as well. I work part time as an in-home mental health counselor, which gives me flexibility throughout the week. I am generally available for morning and evening visits, with some afternoons depending on my counseling schedule. My weekends are completely open and I am happy to help with walks, drop-ins, sitting, and providing companionship for your pets. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. With my own dogs, I regularly handle walks, grooming, brushing, nail care, and maintaining healthy routines. I understand that every pet has their own personality, preferences, and needs, and I take the time to make sure each animal feels comfortable and cared for. I treat every pet like they are my own and will provide dependable, attentive care while you’re away.

Anya did an amazing job watching our two dogs, Hagrid and Chewy, for five days while we were on vacation. She took excellent care of both of them, kept our house clean, and provided frequent updates that gave us peace of mind while we were away. Her communication was outstanding, and it was clear our dogs were happy and well cared for. We would absolutely recommend Anya to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy pet sitter, and we would gladly use her services again in the future.

Sara stayed overnight for the weekend with my four dogs. Two of them are seniors, and they were well cared for and comfortable the whole time. They have a routine they like to stick to, with several medications and special diets. We received pictures and updates multiple times a day and were confident in their care!

FAQs for House Sitting - York Haven Anchorage

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in York Haven Anchorage on Rover is $34.41 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,346 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across York Haven Anchorage. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred York Haven Anchorage walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in York Haven Anchorage maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in York Haven Anchorage choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in York Haven Anchorage. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
