“Elisabeth was great with my Goldendoodle. We were racing at the dragstrip, had our dog with us &wanted to go have some fun on Fremont street. Elisabeth met us & dog sitted for us. Dixie felt very comfortable going with her & was happy when we met to pick her up! I would definitely have her watch our girl again! Highly recommend!”

“We took our puppy pitbull over for a day and it was great! It was our first time using rover and leaving our little girl and they were very understanding and sweet with any questions we had. Michelles hunband greeted us right at the door and started playing with our dog. The other dogs they had there were very sweet as well. We got pictures of our dog running around outside and when we picked her up she went straight to sleep you could tell she had a good day. Would definitely recommend especially for people doing this for the first time.”

“Samantha is a great sitter for Tilly. Any day of the week I need, she is always accomadating. I know Tilly is in good hands with her and always getting attention. Tilly looks forward to going over there and always comes back happy and tired. Thank you for continuing to watch Tilly!”

“Brandy is an excellent dog sitter!!! I’m so grateful to have found her. She was quick to respond and immediately made me feel at ease. Milo went to her home for daycare and he did not want to leave! She played with him, took walks with him, and even did some obedience training. Milo came home tired and happy. She also sent photos and videos which always puts me at ease. I would highly recommend!”

“I highly recommend Noelle. Our fur baby Max loves her. We have had no concerns leaving him with her for daycare and for an overnight. Max thinks he is apart of her family 😊”

“Cheyanne kept my Scooby for the holidays and not once ever made me feel like he wasn’t in good hands. She cared for our boy and kept us up to date on everything. So grateful for her services and will definitely rebook in the future!”

About: Animals have always been a constant part of my life. I grew up in a home where there were always dogs and cats around, caring for them wasn’t just a responsibility, it was part of daily life. Over the years, I have personally raised and cared for three dogs of my own, each with different personalities and needs, which taught me patience, structure, and how to connect with animals on an individual level. Most recently, I adopted another dog into the family, adding even more joy and playful to the house. From energetic puppies to gentle seniors, I have experienced it all training, playtime, feeding routines, crate care, walks, and of course, lots of cuddles. Whether your pet is shy or social, active or relaxed, we understand how to make them feel safe, loved, and at home. I have a partner who has been pet sitting for her friends and co-workers last 4 years. I work at shipyard, but my work is pretty flexible that I can check out our dogs or any other pet frequently to make sure they receive enough attention love and most importantly care. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. In my home, I provide a calm and secure environment where dogs can relax and be themselves. I have a fully fenced big yard for safe outdoor play, and I supervise all interactions to make sure everyone is happy and comfortable. I follow your pet’s routine as closely as possible — from feeding schedules to crate preferences and bedtime habits — so they feel right at home. I never use harsh corrections; instead, I rely on positive reinforcement, patience, and gentle guidance. I also keep my home clean, pet-proofed, and free of anything unsafe. Whether your dog is playful, shy, or somewhere in between, we make sure they always feel safe, respect. I will keep sending regular updates and pictures or videos so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands

“Sarah did a fabulous job with Reno. He had fun, and she clearly loves having animals around so he felt welcome. She made me feel completely at ease leaving my precious pup for the day!”

About: I have been caring for dogs since I was young, there's never been a point in my life where I didn't have dogs in the house. I lost my old lady dog three years ago but since then I’ve been sitting for others to fill the hole in my heart and home. I love older dogs who like to cuddle and hang out all day, but truly I am just a dog person. I’m currently unemployed so I have all day to love on these pups. I like to be active and have access to local trails so we can take walks and enjoy the weather. I don’t like to take risks with dogs, I will not allow a dog I’m caring for to meet other dogs or random people in my care. I have no children and no other pets.
About: I’ve grown up with many animals in my home. Ranging from dogs, cats, birds, and reptiles. I know what it means to feel at ease knowing your pets are being well taken care of while you’re away. Let me be that person for you. Currently, I am a stay at home mom with one small child. Which makes my availability pretty flexible. I will try my best to work out our schedules so that your pets get all the attention they need. I do not view our pets as just pets. They are an extension of our family. Just as much a family member as any other. They deserve time, respect, and love. Nothing feels more rewarding than earning the love and trust of another animal. I strive to provide the best care for God’s beautiful creatures.
About: Every dog deserves 2 walks a day and ample room to run & play! I’ve also completed basic training classes. I dog sit for multiple friends & family members. Let me know your dogs needs! I have a fenced in back yard to ensure animals have a safe place to play and lay in the sunshine or they can stay inside and relax. I work full time from home so I am always able to be here with your fur baby. I work a computer job full time from home so I am available every day all day. I am able to be here with them at all times I have a fenced in yard that offers outside time, as weather permits, and potty breaks whenever it is needed. We will go for walk around the neighborhood as well. I live in a cul de sac and safe neighborhood.

“Vianca and her family were so wonderful to Calvin. He had so much fun there, was so excited every morning and made me drag him away when it was time to leave. Her dogs played nicely with my puppy. They adhered to providing him a couple dedicated crate naps daily. Would def use Vianca again! Thank you!”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
