“Dawn helped with my two pups for 2 months. She was amazing with them. She was consistent, reliable, flexible and communicative - not to mention patient with me as I tried to figure out the app! I recommend her highly.”

“Amberley was a wonderful sitter. She is reliable, communicative, responds quickly and went above and beyond to take care of our cat. I would definitely recommend her!”

“We had just gotten a new puppy and I had to be gone a large part of the day due to work. Alex responded right away and spent an hour with the dog playing and trying to get him to go for a walk. I got a progress report and details on everything that happened within the hour, along with some great pictures too. So grateful for the help!”

About: **For the house sitting part of the profile I cannot sleepover at the clients house due to health reasons but I can take the dog(s) out for breaks at anytime.** We have a rescue dog, who was untrained and very high anxiety when we rescued him. Now, he is a fun loving, good listening boy! I probably baby him too much, so if you are looking for someone to be uber strict, that's probably not us. We just want to give love when you're not able to. I am in school part time and I am only looking to take care of a few dogs, so I can work the schedules that they need. I have two dogs that I feed, bathe and train. I like to play with them and I can tell when she's about to get the "zoomies'" , so I play extra hard with her then. Of course I like to snuggle and pet any puppy!
About: I've taken care of my 11 yr old dog since he was 8 weeks old! I have also dog-sat in the past for many different breeds :) I work as a nurse and have random days off during the week/ weekend! Would love to use my off days to walk your pup I offer dog walking and in home check ins. My apartment does not allow pets, so I am always looking forward to spending time with a pup!
“Maddie is very responsive, reliable, and accommodating with last-minute requests. She’s great with Ollie and always leaves thoughtful notes and pictures after her visits. We really appreciate her help!”

About: Hi there! I’m Rajda. For the past 10 years, I’ve provided pet sitting services to friends and family so I’m used to handling feeding routines, walks, playtime, and making sure they feel comfortable. Whether you need drop-ins, overnight stays, or someone to love your fur baby like their own, I’m here for it! I may be new to professional pet sitting, but I’ve helped care for dogs, cats, chickens, goats, and cows over the past few years! I’m happy to provide updates and photos, and I’m committed to making your pet feel safe, loved, and happy while you’re away. I work remote, so I'll have plenty of time to play and watch your dogs or cats! I'm available for overnight pet sitting, dog walking, or check-ins throughout the week as needed. I’m active and love being outdoors, so pets who enjoy walks and fresh air will get plenty of it! I provide a calm, clean, and structured environment where pets feel safe and comfortable. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, and preferred activities. I prioritize clear communication, regular updates, and photos so owners always feel confident their pet is in good hands!
“We booked with Estefanía for her to visit our dog three times a day during our week-long trip. She was always super professional- quick responses when I texted her any last-minute requests or instructions. She also brought in our trash bins and kept our plants alive:) Bruno was happy when we got home, but definitely no stress when we were away!”

About: I feel strongly about the human animal-bond and I believe your pets deserve the best care possible! My experience goes back to childhood since I've had cats and dogs my whole life. I've watched neighbors' and friends' pets while they were out of town and even watched a friend's horses while she was on vacation. I walked dogs at Anderson Animal Shelter (now Anderson Humane) as a kid. I worked for a pet sitting company for a little over a year in 2020. That year I also began school to become a certified veterinary technician. After two years taking classes full time and completing two externships I became a CVT. My schooling did include kennels- aka walking, cleaning up after and caring for the rescued dogs and cats we learned on (they were adopted out at the end of each semester). I also have helped with pets who were boarding at veterinary offices. I can do medical treatments on your fur baby if necessary. I am open to watching exotic pets. I have a huge admiration for spicy cats. I am your person for house sitting and drop in visits. I will be using Rover for part time work but I do have flexible availability! I have stepped away from full time work all together for the foreseeable future. I am a morning person and I would love to spend some time outside with your pup whatever the weather may be. I enjoy walking outside even in zero degree weather! I am happy to accommodate any routine you need for your fur babies. Greeting your pet is important, especially if I am new to them. I will give them food and water and clean dishes as advised by you. I will take them for a walk or outside to play and go potty depending on what they are up for. If you need pills or treatments or any kind to be administered I can absolutely do that. I will treat your pet, your home and belongings with the utmost respect and responsibility.

“Joan is the best! I just moved to the area and was nervous about finding someone I could trust with my babies but she instantly put my mind at ease. My dogs LOVE her and can’t wait to see her again! I will definitely keep using Joan in the future when I need some help watching my fur babies.”

“Gabrielle did such an amazing job with our anxious attachment kitty! Our cat tends to not eat when we are not there, but Gabrielle's visits made our cat feel calm and supported. All her food was eaten! Our cat showed no signs of sadness or anxiety upon our return. Thank you, Gabrielle!”

About: I have had dogs my whole life. I have had multiple rescue dogs from puppies to older dogs. I have taken care of family member dogs. I am recently retired from a career in medical imaging. I have a PhD in Physics and have worked in hospitals including patient care. I have always loved dogs and seem to have a special bond with them. Being retired, I have plenty of time to spend with your pet. I will treat your pet as if it was my own. I do not currently have any pets of my own. I recently moved to this area and live in a townhome.
About: Your pet won't just be watched, they'll be genuinely cared for. I’ve spent over 20 years caring for animals of all kinds, and that experience has taught me how to support pets with every temperament and need. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, playful, senior, or requires specialized care, I take the time to understand their routines, triggers, and comfort cues so they feel safe and secure from the moment they arrive. With a background in behavioral psychology and positive‑reinforcement handling, I understand the motivations, stress signals, comfort cues, and behavior patterns that shape how dogs respond to new environments. This deeper insight into how dogs process change, manage stress, and build trust allows me to read body language accurately, anticipate triggers, and support each dog with structure, reassurance, and training strategies that truly fit their emotional needs. It’s care that feels intuitive and comforting for everyday pups- and thoughtfully informed for dogs who benefit from more specialized, behavior‑aware support. I’ve cared for puppies to seniors, small to large breeds, multi‑pet households, and pets who need medications or structured routines. That range of experience gives me a strong, practical foundation in understanding behavior, building trust, and tailoring care to each dog’s unique personality. My favorite part of pet care is building trust. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a shy, anxious, or reserved pet relax and let their personality shine. Some of the most rewarding feedback I receive is when owners tell me their pet seemed more comfortable, playful, or affectionate than usual. I take the time to understand each dog’s emotional comfort zone so they feel safe being themselves. And when those moments happen, you'll get to see them too. I love sharing photos, videos, and updates so you can enjoy your pet's adventures while you're away! 🛡️Safety First, Always I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision, and I take that responsibility seriously. My goal is to give you peace of mind by providing attentive, thoughtful care and keeping you informed every step of the way. I stay fully engaged with your pet throughout their stay, whether we’re indoors relaxing or outdoors exploring. I’m attentive to their energy levels, comfort, and shifting needs, and I’m mindful of our surroundings- unfamiliar dogs, wildlife, weather, and anything that could affect their experience. I also have experience introducing dogs to one another thoughtfully and at a pace that keeps everyone comfortable. I guide interactions thoughtfully, recognizing early signs of curiosity, uncertainty, playfulness, or overstimulation. I believe great pet care comes from being engaged, observant, and proactive. From the moment your pet arrives until they're safely back with you, their well-being is my top priority. 🌟Personalized Care for Every Pet & Every Owner No two pets are alike, and neither are their owners. Some families provide detailed instructions, schedules, and preferences. Others simply want peace of mind knowing their pet is in experienced hands. I genuinely enjoy both approaches. I'm naturally detail-oriented, attentive, and precautionary, so I carefully follow every instruction provided. At the same time, my years of experience allow me to confidently care for pets whose owners prefer a more relaxed approach. Whether you prefer frequent updates or occasional check-ins, detailed summaries or quick messages, I'll adapt to your communication style while providing the same level of attentive care. Your pet's care stays consistent regardless of how much or how little direction you provide. Pet care fits naturally into my schedule, allowing me to provide reliable, consistent attention throughout the week. Monday-Thursday: I work 8 AM-4 PM just minutes from home, so I can stop by during lunch for potty breaks, walks, check-ins, and extra attention when needed. Fridays: I work remotely, which gives me even more flexibility for walks, playtime, enrichment, and companionship throughout the day. Weekends: My schedule is open, making it easy to accommodate overnight stays, extended visits, and last-minute bookings. Because my routine is consistent, pets settle in quickly and receive steady, dependable care. Whether your pet enjoys activity, companionship, or simply a predictable routine, I make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for during their stay. 🤍A Calm, Low-Stress Environment One of the things pets benefit from most in my care is that I don’t have any animals of my own. This means visiting pets receive my full attention in a calm environment without competing for space, affection, or supervision. For many dogs, especially anxious, young, senior, shy, or independent dogs, this can make a huge difference. They often settle in more quickly because the environment is quiet, predictable, and focused entirely on them. Your pet's routine becomes my routine. Whether they enjoy long walks, playtime, cuddling on the couch, frequent potty breaks, or simply relaxing nearby, I take the time to learn what helps them feel most comfortable. My building includes: • Private pet park- a safe, enclosed spot for pets to stretch out, play, and enjoy fresh air during their stay • Quiet park nearby for peaceful walks- ideal for pets who prefer gentle environments over the hustle of community dog areas • Pet wash room- perfect for muddy paws, quick rinses, and keeping pets fresh and comfortable during their stay • Elevator and stair access- every pet gets an option based on their comfort and mobility needs All designed to help pets feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. For boarding/daycare, pets who prefer space from other pets can enjoy a one‑household stay. 💛Extra Support & Attention My partner is also a lifelong experienced animal lover and often spends her days off with me. Pets naturally gravitate toward her kind, playful energy with them. She provides an extra set of eyes, hands, and attention, which can be especially helpful for puppies, active dogs, and multi-pet households. Like me, she respects your pet, routines, and home, and takes their care seriously. 🏡 House Sitting: Respectful Pet Care & Home Care When caring for your pet in your home, my goal is for you to return to a happy pet and a home that looks exactly as you left it. I come fully prepared with my own laptop, hotspot, meals, and daily essentials. I don't require Wi-Fi, snacks, streaming services, or household supplies. Most of my time is spent playing with, walking, cuddling, grooming, or simply spending quality time with your pet. I closely follow feeding schedules, household rules, training routines, and walking expectations. I also: • Bring in mail (just lmk)/take out trash • Vacuum pet hair (just lmk) • Keep food and water areas clean • Tidy up after myself • Wipe down surfaces I use • Handle pet-related cleanups • Respect all security measures and gates You'll never have surprise visitors, smoking, parties, or drinking in your home. I treat your home with the same care and respect I would expect someone to show mine. One of my strongest qualities is being a respectful house guest. Your home, routines, and pet's comfort matter to me.
About: I used to have a dog, and I truly miss the companionship and joy that having a dog brought into my life. Unfortunately, because I rent my current home, I can't own a dog right now. To recapture that wonderful feeling, I've decided to walk dogs in my spare time. It allows me to experience the happiness of being around dogs again, even if I can't have one of my own at the moment. I have owned a small dog as a child and recently a 130 cane corso so I am comfortable with all sizes. Currently I am available after 5 on Fridays and most weekends. I cannot have dogs at the place I am renting . Please reach out to coordinate what days you need your dog walked I am only able to provide dog walking services at this time. I am unable to have dogs at the place I am renting. Thank you

Bethany took great care of our cat while we were on vacation and was sure to send us multiple cute photos each day. We also appreciated that Bethany had clear communication when she had any questions or her schedule needed to change. Overall we felt like our cat was well cared for and would not hesitate to work with Bethany again in the future.

Macey was amazing! She took very good care of my new puppy goose and followed all instructions! She send great overviews and photos of their time together that made me feel comfortable leaving him with her. Before the drop ins even took place, Macey made sure to make time to meet goose and us which I greatly appreciated!

Rachel did an amazing job with checking in on my 2 cats and providing detailed updates! She was able to quickly gain the trust of one of my cats that’s extremely shy to the point she was letting Rachel pet her. Rachel was also flexible with the meeting times and check ins.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
