I had a great experience with Jackson walking my dog, Maggy. He was reliable, communicative, and sensitive to her needs—especially as a senior dog. It gave me real peace of mind knowing she was in such caring hands during the day. I look forward to booking him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog walker.

About: I love dogs (cats, too). Dogs want love, praise and attention and I know they want to be good.... they just need to be given the chance and the right cues to correct behavior. I have my own dogs and I round up strays and fosters to set them up with their forever homes. I am also a homeowner and I know what it feels like to invite a guest worker (pet sitter) into your home and have them not respect or take care of things (pet and home) the way they promised. I promise to look after your pet and your home and I can be your eyes and ears if something is up that you need to know about. I am a full time pet carer. I’m responsible, flexible and reliable. I can usually agree to same day assignments for walking, visiting or overnight care. When I’m with your dogs, I’m interacting with them, even if we’re just hanging out. Pets needs always come first! Some dogs don’t need walking… they might need a long visit with play. Sometimes they need belly rubs and snuggles. I also provide fresh water every visit so they’re never out.

About: Animals have always been an important part of my life, and I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else. As a pet owner, I care for my playful puppy, Milo, and my kitten, Whillow, every day. I have experience with feeding, walks, potty breaks, playtime, basic puppy care, and making pets feel safe and comfortable in their own environment. I know every pet has a unique personality, so I take the time to learn their routine and provide care that’s tailored to them. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playing fetch, or simply relaxing with company, I’ll treat them with patience, kindness, and respect. I’ll also send photo updates and communicate throughout every visit so you always know your pet is happy and well cared for. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine, and I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide reliable, attentive care throughout the day. I’m available on weekdays and weekends for drop-in visits and dog walks. I do my best to accommodate last-minute requests whenever possible and will always communicate clearly if my availability changes. My goal is to make sure your pet stays on their normal routine while you’re away. I understand that trusting someone with both your pet and your home is a big decision, and I take that responsibility seriously. I’ll carefully follow your pet’s routine, feeding schedule, medication instructions (if needed), and any special requests. During every visit, I’ll make sure your pet has fresh water, receives plenty of attention, exercise, and affection, and I’ll always leave your home clean, secure, and exactly as I found it. You’ll receive photo updates and messages after each visit so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.

Oreo and I so appreciate Amanda and Hector’s help during these beginning weeks of the new school year! I know Oreo looks forward to going on his lunch potty breaks with Hector where he can sniff to his heart’s content. 🐕 💜 🥰 We truly appreciate Hector’s flexibility when he comes a bit earlier some days due to the hotter weather or Oreo’s needs. We will definitely be requesting Amanda & Hector again!

I have experience with almost all animals, and I’d love to help take care of yours! I take care of two pets of my own, but currently don’t have a stable job. My days are open! About: I'm a very responsible pet parent to my own senior Maltese. I can provide medication as necessary since I'm aware of the medical needs of my own. Not working at the moment and want to spend time with my dog and other babies as much as I am able to. I would treat your dogs as much as I care for my own. About: I have three cats and one dog of my own! I’m used to all and any antics they can get up to. I’ve got a crazy routine for my pets, so no requests are too much for me :) Typically I am free in the morning or afternoon most days. My weekends are usually free with a usual trip to the Saturday farmers market when it happens. I regularly take care of my cats which includes feeding them, cleaning their litter boxes, cleaning their areas, brushing them, and generally heeding their every need. I like to make enrichment toys using cardboard boxes/paper towel tubes or by teaching them tricks like spin and high five! When taking dogs out, I try to make sure to wipe their paws down with a wet paper towel prior to entering the house, especially after going in more muddy areas. I like going at the dogs pace on walks whether that be sniffing around a bunch or taking a jog around the neighborhood until they get tired! I used to have a cat that required medication, so I’m familiar with giving pills and liquid meds to cats.

About: Apart from owning my own dogs, cats, and reptiles, I have been working as a pet sitter for about 8 years. For the past year and half I have been working as a lead kennel technician and doggy daycare attendant for Performance K9 Training and Boarding. I have loads of experience working with aggressive dogs, dogs in training, puppies, and those with medical needs. Caring for animals is one of my biggest passions, in my free time I volunteer at animal shelters and in the fall I will be starting my studying at UC Davis for animal science! I am comfortable watching multiple pets at once, an expert in giving medications, and strive to keep your pet on a schedule that works best for both of you! I have recently switched to part time work at my kennel to prepare for moving in a few months, so I have plenty of time for check ins, walks, or overnight stays. I am looking to expand my pet walking and sitting services. I will provide the best care possible for your pets in their home. I will ensure your pet and home stay clean and supervised. I will ensure your pets stick to their schedule, get tons of playtime, and are groomed properly. If requested or in the case of emergencies I have a safe place for them in my car.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 3,565 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Yolano. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Yolano. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Yolano.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Yolano. On Rover:

  • 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
