“Brandon did an excellent job with poncho making sure he got his pee breaks and avoiding other dogs . He kept poncho interested despite poncho being tired and wanting to come back home .”

“Marina is incredibly responsive and provided wonderful care for my old dog. I can tell my dog likes her visits and walks. Marina is attentive, asks questions, and overall very caring. Highly recommend Marina!”

“We were going out of town for a few days so we needed someone to walk our dog while we were away. Amanda was nothing but amazing. She quickly responded with any questions I had and the photos she took were so great to see. The biggest win is that Phoebe (our 70lb American Staffordshire Terrier) loved being around Amanda. Everyone had such positive things to say about Amanda. We will definitely rebook in the future.”

About: I live in the Sacramento Delta in a quiet neighborhood. Great neighborhood for walks and a nice fenced corner lot yard for your pup to run around in. I live with my elderly father who enjoys meeting new doggy friends. 24 hr supervision since I work remotely! I’m an early riser and enjoy morning walks. Your doggy will recieve a good amount of outdoor time and have an active and stimulating day. I’m comfortable with your dog sleeping in bed with me but respect if you prefer them to sleep in a crate. I work remotely so I have no issue staying at your house as well!
“I don’t know what we’d do without Hans! Probably never be able to leave town again! He’s wonderful with our leash reactive anxious mess, and we came home to a dog who heeled much better than when we left!”

“Aichav took great care getting my little guy out for walks and sharing photos while I was out of town. So much that I’m using her again! Would definitely recommend :)”

About: I love animals! I ensure that I will take care of your pet with care and love. I’m an ultimate animal lover! I want you to know your pet is in great care with me and will always be safe and happy! I work mainly home and can easily care for the pet throughout the week at any flexible hours whenever in need of having a pet sitter except Wednesday since I am required to work in office, if Wednesday would like to book, please book at anytime after 5:30pm I am available. I feed them, look after them, and ensure they are in a safe environment when in my care. I also have a big yard outside my apartment for them to play, run, and enjoy the fresh air when outside with me.

About: I’ve always loved animals and spent the past year interning at Front Street Animal Shelter, where I gained hands on experience caring for dogs and learning more about animal behavior, safety, and daily care routines. During my internship, I worked with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels, which helped me become patient, attentive, and comfortable handling pets with different needs. I’m passionate about providing a safe, loving, and comfortable environment for every pet in my care. I have an extremely flexible schedule. This allows me to be available from mornings through late afternoons on most days, making it easy for me to provide consistent, reliable care for pets. I prioritize safety, trust, and a calm environment for every pet in my care. I always follow the owner's instructions closely and make sure pets are supervised, comfortable, and secure at all times. My experience at an animal shelter has taught me how to read animal behavior, respond calmly in different situations, and create a low-stress environment for pets of all personalities. I treat every pet as if they were my own and aim to build trust with both pets and their owners through reliable, attentive care.
About: I had a beagle from age 6 to 22. From 22 to 36 I had a Maine Coon. I currently have 2 cute ginger cats and a fat grey and white cat. Everyone was a rescue! I own a small business and work from home. I can get to your home in the Elk Grove area very easily and quickly to visit with your critters. We prepare fresh meals for our cats. We haver cat backpacks and crates to transport them around. They like to visit outside and pretend they are still wild. One likes to explore. The other two are afraid of their shadows.

“Ilse did great with Xena. She was attentive to Xena’s reaction to other dogs . She kept her under control and calm. Xena was happy to see Ilse when she came. She was on time and was needed for a week after I had hip surgery. Good job.”

About: Hi, I’m Khyli! Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I’ve been providing dependable pet care for over 14 years. What started as helping friends, family, and neighbors has grown into a passion and career I truly love. I’m currently a pre-veterinary student and enrolled in a Veterinary Medicine program, so I’m always expanding my knowledge of animal health, behavior, and compassionate care. My goal is to become a veterinarian, and every pet I care for is treated with the same patience, respect, and attention I’d give my own. Whether your pet needs a walk, a drop-in visit, overnight care, or simply someone to keep them company while you’re away, you can count on me to provide reliable, loving care that fits their unique routine and personality. I know how important it is to leave your pet with someone you trust. That’s why I prioritize communication, consistency, and plenty of photo updates so you can relax knowing your furry family member is safe, happy, and well cared for. I can’t wait to meet you and your pet! My schedule is flexible, which allows me to provide dependable care throughout the week. Whether your pet needs a midday potty break, daily walks, drop-in visits, or overnight care, I’ll do my best to accommodate your routine. I know consistency is important for pets, so I always strive to keep them on their normal schedule as much as possible I know how hard it is to leave your pet with someone else because they’re family. My goal is to make that process as stress free as possible for both you and your pet. I’ll always follow your care instructions, respect your pet’s routine, and keep you updated with photos and messages so you know they’re doing well while you’re away.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
