Susan was wonderful with our slightly erratic pup! She is super fast to respond, on time and reliable. She scheduled a meet and greet in advance and provided us updates throughout her stay. She even had a run in with off leash dogs and was able to manage the situation and get both herself and Zoya safely home. Our house was cleaner than when we left it and Zoya was well played with as she wasn't high energy as she normally is which means she was exercised enough. High recommend Susan if you are looking for a responsible, mature dog sitter who will care for both your pup and house!

Kept us up to date regularly with how the dogs were doing. Very kind and gentle. Our female had surgery just a couple of days prior to our trip and she took great care of her and followed all discharge instructions as provided. She was very patient with our boy. He tends to not like strangers and they did great! Would definitely recommend her!

Our dogs Brenda and Mickey were in great care with Maria. When they go to a boarding facility, they are stressed and lose weight. Luckily, they were able to stay home and Maria gave them the love and attention they need to feel comfortable and happy while we were gone. I definitely recommend Maria!

This was our first experience with Christina watching our 2 dogs. SHE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We have not had the best experiences in the past with pet sitters. Christina went above and beyond. We have a special needs Frenchie that requires eyes on him 24/7. Christina would set her alarm for 4:00am to make sure our pup was able to go outside to go potty. Our dogs came first and we are so grateful. She paid attention to every little detail and she made sure our dogs had the most safe and fun environment. You should definitely connect with her when you are in need of quality pet sitting. We are blessed and feel like she's a new member of the family!

Joel is an excellent dog/house sitter. He has bonded well with Loki, (our big German Shepherd/Husky cross) and is very patient, and very calm around him, which in turn keeps Loki calm! Joel is accommodating, responsive, flexible, professional and respectful. Joel is also very respectful of our home. We have already booked Joel a few times in coming months. We highly recommend Joel to look after your best furry canine friend, and your home while you are away!

Cheryl was wonderful with our two dogs. We had a last minute emergency and asked Cheryl to start her house sitting stay earlier, which she was able to accommodate. Our dogs take some time to warm up to new people, but they seemed so comfortable in Cheryl's care, which gave us a ton of peace of mind during a difficult time. She was also great at communicating with us through the booking process and during her stay and was a very gracious house guest.

About: I've had cats and dogs my entire life, and volunteered at the Bradshaw Animal Shelter for a year after college. I've fostered kittens and a senior cat with medical issues, and cared for many older pets over my life. I once house sit for a family with rabbits so I have a little bit of familiarity with them. I have house sit for friends with a standard poodle and a mini doodle, including giving the standard poodle his daily medication and taking them both for twice daily trips to the park. I have also checked in on my parents' two dogs and 5+ cats to feed them, let them out for potty breaks, play with them, and give them medication. My sweet orange tabby got cancer a few years ago and I fed him three times a day through a feeding tube and administered his medication as well. I work some evenings, so I am free most of the day to care for your furry friends. I take care of my own senior kitty in the mornings, after my evening shifts, and during any free days. I have pet sat for friends and family before, including giving medication and two daily walks. I will follow all instructions to the letter and ensure your pet feels right at home.

About: It is important to me that our furry family members are taken care of and receive the care they deserve. I am extremely detail-oriented and strive to make sure I care for your family just as well as you do. I currently work a consistent part-time schedule along with attending online college so there should be little to no time conflicts. I keep a planner so I have a clear idea of what my schedule looks like. I have experience with giving medication to pets of different temperaments along with handling cases of food aggression. I ask owners to provide detailed lists of what is needed as well as actions I could take in case things go awry. I usually make the effort to contact owners with updates on pets and with questions when necessary.

Was extremely flexible and stayed past our agreed upon end time due to an unexpected delay in our travel. Feel very comfortable with her as both a pet and house sitter. Will definitely use again.

Aicha did a fantastic job taking care of our very active border collie. She is professional, caring, and a clear communicator. Aicha stayed in our home for 3 weeks and sent consistent updates with photos that showed our dog relaxing while connecting with her and enjoying himself on walks. She also left the house in great shape and even helped with watering my plants. We are really grateful she stayed in our home while we were away and we would absolutely trust her again in the future. Thank you, Aicha!

Mya was amazing. I had two other sitters drop out at the last minute. She was responsive and stayed in contact both before the trip and during the trip. My older male cat doesn’t like too many people. He barely comes to me. He came straight to her during the meet and great. My house and animals were very well taken care of. I would gladly book her again if she is available.

About: Animals have always been a part of my life, so caring for them truly comes naturally to me. I’ve worked with rescues, fostered dogs, and recently rescued a pup of my own after moving to the Sacramento area. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, comfort level, and needs. I treat every pet in my care like they’re my own, with patience, love, attention, and plenty of affection. As a fellow animal mom, my goal is to make your loved one feel safe, happy, and loved while giving you peace of mind knowing they’re in caring hands. I currently work from home, which gives me the flexibility to make pet care a natural part of my daily routine. Since I have a dog of my own, my days already include regular walks, playtime, potty breaks, and plenty of attention. I’m able to adjust my schedule based on each dog’s individual routine and needs, making sure they receive consistent care, companionship, and love throughout the day. Whether caring for pets in my home or yours, I always prioritize their safety, comfort, and individual routine. I follow feeding schedules, walk routines, medications or special instructions closely and make sure each pet gets plenty of attention, playtime, and affection. I have a flexible schedule, so pets are rarely left alone for long periods. I also have a friendly pup of my own and make sure any introductions are done thoughtfully so everyone feels safe and comfortable.

Natalie beat my expectations! She was extremely attentive of the dogs in every way. My house looked better than when I left it and the dogs were very sad to see her go. I will certainly be using her services again and I wish I used her in the past. I’m recommending her to all the pet owners in my family because she made house sitting feel truly seamless. She even watered my plants and picked up after my dogs which were things I told her she didn’t have to do! Thank you so much!

FAQs for House Sitting - Woodward

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 2,389 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Woodward. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Woodward walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Woodward maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Woodward choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Woodward. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
