About: For as long as I can remember, there has always been animals in my house, but the last 13 years are where my real growth has happened for me as a pet parent and carer. In my own home, there’s always been a variety from dogs to hedgehogs to cats to lizards. I have often found myself as a haven for wayward creatures in need of respite. I have experience caring for, raising, and training puppies as well as caring for senior dogs. I work full time as a teacher but I am often around on the weekends and evenings and am happy and able to make pets a part of my routine! Any space I am in is always treated with the upmost respect— I don’t touch what isn’t mine, I don’t touch what I don’t need to. Integrity and honesty are paramount. If there is an issue with anything, I of course will be upfront about it, as that is what I would expect and want from anyone in my home. Trusting me to come into your home is a big deal, and I would never want to jeopardize your peace of mind.

About: I love dogs and having one of my very own whom I adore more than ever, I can assure you your furry friends will be safe, well cared for, and without a doubt will love me! I've taken care of dogs of all sizes, and cared for litters of puppies as well. I am a college student. I'm looking forward to earning extra money between classes and spending lots of time with your fur babies. I love animals and so excited to help people take care of their pets. When I’m taking care of pets in a client’s home, I stick to whatever routine the owner has for feeding, walks, playtime, and medication. I always make sure they’ve got fresh water, clean bowls, and a comfy space. I clean up any messes, take care of the home while I’m there, and make sure their pet feels safe and relaxed. I also send photo or text updates so the owner knows how things are going.

About: Aloha, I'm Anna Lyra 😊 I've connected deeply with animals my whole life, and began caring for them around age 11. I grew up with dogs and cats, and have a great love for all creatures. Cats are my specialty, though my skills are also effective with dogs and all kinds of other animals. I am a Cat Whisperer with extensive knowledge and experience. My cats remain at optimal health due to my physical and energetic care of them. I practice Reiki (energy healing) that is very effective with animals. For now, I'm offering my Reiki treatments for free as I am new to Rover (with purchase of Day Visits, House Sitting, or Dog Walking). I also have experience with animal hospice care, during which the Reiki treatments are especially supportive. Here's a review of my care for a 21+ year old cat who was nearing the end of her life: "You have a gift, and Princess and I are blessed to be on the receiving end of your gift. Yes, you’re a kitty-sitter, and yes you helped with her urinating outside of the box, but what you’re offering is much much much deeper than that. I think you have a calling for this, well, I don’t “think” - I know you have a calling for this, and I am just so grateful that we found you and so grateful to be on the receiving end of your gift.” -Arthur, February 2026 So I've been doing animal care for a long time with shining 5 star reviews, I'm just new to Rover! ✨😊✨ I'm self-employed with a very flexible schedule. I can work with you to sculpt the ideal care that your pet(s) needs. We can talk about possibilities✨ My pets and my client's pets are a top priority and I take it very seriously. My own cats benefit from the highest quality food, attention, and environment. I provide gentle focused care with therapeutic touch & massage. I am highly attuned to their needs & emotions. While I am a Cat Whisperer, my care for all animals goes above and beyond. I treat others as I want to be treated: keeping honesty, safety, and high quality care with positive loving energy at the forefront.

About: I have been a veterinary technician/nurse for the past 13 years. My whole life is dedicated to animals and providing them compassionate care. I have worked in a general practice for the last 13 years working with companion animals (cats and dogs) but I have grown up with birds, ferrets, fish, turtles and hamsters. I also have a degree in agriculture and have cared for livestock. I truly love all animals and will always take care of each individual pet as if they were my own. I have a team of veterinary professionals that I can reach out to if there was ever an animal emergency or guidance needed. My goal is to make sure that while the pet parent is away, their loved ones are well cared for! Pet care is a daily staple for me: my job is very flexible and I am able to move my job around to tend to the needs of the pets I am caring for. Whether that’s me coming home on a regular basis or stopping by your home to a similar routine of your own. My goal is to achieve the same routine you would have while you’re home to give your loved ones the stable routine they’re used too! In home: I have property where I can take the dogs out on long walks and can play with them with a great deal of space. They will always have access to water and will feed them according to their set schedules. I have space for crates if your pets do better crated while inside and if I’m away. They will be smothered with cuddles and treats if I’m able to. Clients Home: I will make sure to adhere to the routine you have already established at home, whether that’s long walks or playing in the backyard. Stick to the feeding schedule and ensure they are stress free while you’re away.

About: Hi there! My name is Marissa, and I am hoping to become a trusted caretaker for you & your fur family within the Gainesville community. My whole life, my family has always had a house full of animals- from dogs and cats to lizards, birds, rabbits, hamsters, etc. Now, as an adult, I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, all with extremely unique and different personalities. I spent 6 years volunteering at my local humane society and have experience walking, feeding, bathing, and caring for all sizes and breeds of dogs and cats. I am very comfortable with any breed of dog and I am also very respectful of cats, I am keen on pets cues for boundaries. I understand all pets are different and I’d be honored to help you and your fur family in your time of need, while on vacation, etc. I’ve used rover in the past as a customer and have had good experiences with the app. I am new to this area but if you give me a chance I promise to take the best care of your pets while building trust in this community. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you! I have no problem waking up very early or stopping by very late and any time in between. My schedule is flexible at the moment. Every pet is unique and different in their own way. I have had a lot of experience with my own pets and my time volunteering at the humane society - I understand some dogs try to run out every chance they get or some dogs are food aggressive. I typically like to know your routine, with detailed notes/stopping by and introducing myself so you can show me how to properly care for your pet(s) while you are away. Trust is important and I know it can be scary using an app for pet care. Our pets are our family and I hope to start building a reliable reputation within this community.

About: I care very much for the well being of animals and want to make sure that the pets waiting for their owners feel safe with me. After work is usually when I will be able to, my work schedule is pretty random so I would work with the pet owners depending on how long they need me for. My backyard is nice and big enough to run around, but not secure enough for me to leave the pet alone back there. My front yard is nice too but needs the front gate fixed.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
