“Nicole is dependable and would definitely use her again. She helped let me know that my dog was having urinary issues too so I could make a vet appointment for the next day and avoid an emergency vet”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and currently have experience caring for family pets on a daily basis. Through feeding, walking, playtime, grooming, and companionship, I’ve learned how to understand dogs’ needs and make them feel comfortable and safe. While I’m new to Rover, I’ve taken care of my family’s and friends dogs on multiple occasions. I’m responsible, attentive, and committed to treating every pet with the same care and patience I give my own dogs. I’m currently a college student with a part-time job, which gives me a flexible schedule throughout the week. When I’m not in class or at work, I’m usually home and available for walks, drop-in visits, or house sitting. I’ll always communicate my availability and make sure your pet receives the time, attention, and care they deserve I’ll make sure to follow your pet’s normal routine and any instructions you leave, whether that’s feeding, walks, playtime, medications, or just giving them plenty of attention. I grew up with dogs, so I’m comfortable caring for them and know that every pet is different. I’ll treat your pet like they’re my own and do everything I can to make them feel comfortable while you’re away.

About: I've been providing large animal care for over eight years. I have cared for many dogs, cats, horses, and chickens. I currently have a horse of my own, as well as a three year old bearded dragon. I also had my own chickens for over ten years. Pet care brings me great joy, and I love getting to know the fur babies that I am lucky enough to care for. I am a college student, but am now on summer break. I currently have extensive availability, and am flexible with dates and times. I will still be available once classes begin, but with changes depending on my schedule. I am happy to provide care and attention to pets who are highly social, but also work well with those who prefer a bit of distance or may be more uncomfortable around strangers. I take slow steps to gain the trust of new animals, and make sure they can clearly understand my intentions in order to prevent startling them. I tend to ask owners plently of questions to be sure the animal's specific needs are met to the best of my ability. I am happy to send plently of pictures and updates throughout my time caring for your critters!

Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I follow all care instructions closely and create a calm, loving environment where your pet feels secure. About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 9 years old and have experience with dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. I had a Labrador Retriever and Weimaraner mix who was absolutely precious. She passed away on April 3, 2026, which was very difficult, but caring for her taught me a lot about responsibility, patience, and the importance of providing dogs with love and attention. I currently have a Boxer, a Cocker Spaniel, and a Chihuahua, so I’m comfortable handling both large and small breeds. Through caring for my own dogs and helping family members and friends with theirs, I’ve gained experience with feeding schedules, walks, playtime, basic grooming, administering medications when needed, and making sure dogs feel safe and comfortable in their environment. I’m familiar with different energy levels and temperaments, from active, playful dogs who need plenty of exercise to older or more relaxed dogs who prefer a calmer routine. Family and friends know they can rely on me to provide dependable and attentive care for their pets. I always make sure every dog is happy, well-fed, exercised, and given plenty of love and attention while their owners are away. My goal is to treat every dog as if they were my own and ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for at all times. I currently work part time and attend college classes, so I understand the importance of being organized and responsible with my time. My classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and I typically work Friday evenings. My work schedule is posted about a week and a half in advance, which allows me to communicate my availability clearly and plan ahead for pet care. Outside of those commitments, I have a flexible schedule and spend most of my time at home. I am committed to providing reliable care, regular updates, and plenty of attention to every pet. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, administering basic medications, or simply keeping a dog company, I make sure each pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owner is away. I have a securely fenced backyard where dogs can safely play, explore, and get plenty of exercise. I also have three friendly dogs who are well socialized and enjoy meeting new canine friends. I always supervise introductions and interactions to make sure every dog feels comfortable and safe. For dogs that are crate trained or need their own space, I have both a small crate and a large crate available. I understand that every dog has different needs and routines, and I do my best to accommodate them. Whether your dog loves to play, relax, or stick to a specific schedule, I’ll make sure they receive the care, attention, and comfort they deserve while you’re away.
About: I’ve had animals my entire life, giving me 33 years of hands-on experience with both dogs and cats. I recently worked in the pet care industry, which gave me even more insight into providing safe, reliable, and loving care. I personally own a German Shepherd that I trained myself, so I’m confident in handling dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. I also have experience with puppies who need structure and patience, as well as senior pets who need extra love and gentle attention. My goal is always to make your pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for—just like they’re my own. Caring for pets is part of my everyday routine! I recently moved to Columbia and have the flexibility to give your pets the love, attention, and consistency they need—whether that’s daily walks, playtime, or longer stays. In My Home: I live in a pet-friendly apartment complex, so dogs enjoy plenty of daily walks and outdoor time. I have a crate of my own if needed for your pet. My own pets are very friendly and social, so visiting animals will always feel welcomed and comfortable. I keep routines consistent, making sure every pet feels at home with lots of love, attention, and playtime. In Your Home: I care for pets just as you would—keeping their routine, environment, and comfort a top priority. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, or quiet companionship, I make sure your pets feel safe, loved, and cared for while you’re away.

Somiya was very proactive and reached out to meet my dog beforehand so that she would know how to best take care of her. I also loved the follow up pictures and notes on how my doggie behaved. I definitely recommend Somiya if you are looking for someone to go above and beyond for your pets needs!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
