“Williams was very courteous and even avoided knocking when he could hear my fiancé getting out dogs’ harnesses on so that they wouldn’t bark at the door, which was very thoughtful. Our dogs seemed to like him and enjoy their walk with him too!”

“Bless her heart, she took my big old treeing walker coon hound for a walk and he didn't want to come home after 30 mins so she walked him for another 50 minutes! He was too big for her to force home, but he eventually got tired and came home without fuss. I'm so grateful to her for being so flexible and patient with him!”

About: I've been taking care of dogs since I was in high school. I've fed, bathed, walked, and provided enrichment for family, friends, and others. I am comfortable with many levels of activity, medication needs, and additional requests. I am a teacher with a set schedule so I am open to many duties over the various breaks, weekends, and time off from school. I do not currently have a dog of my own, nor can I keep one at my residence. However I am happy to help with walking, sitting, and other services
About: I’m a lifelong animal lover with over 10 years of experience caring for pets, especially cats! I’ve volunteered at a nonprofit cat rescue where I helped feed, clean, and medicate cats in need, and I’ve also fostered both adult cats and tiny neonatal kittens (yes bottle feeding and all the adorable chaos that comes with it!). On top of that, I have pet sitting experience for both cats and dogs, so I’m comfortable stepping into all kinds of home routines and making sure pets feel safe, happy, and cared for while their people are away. I’ve cared for my own two cats for years, so I really understand all the little quirks, routines, and personalities that make each pet unique. Cats definitely have my heart, but I also have experience with dogs and am comfortable with smaller, calmer breeds; and happy to work with larger dogs as long as they’re well-trained. I bring lots of patience, love, and good energy to every animal I meet, and I treat every pet like they’re my own. 🐾 I am available seven days a week and strive to be as flexible as possible. During the week, I can typically accommodate 2–3 drop-in visits per day, and on weekends I can provide up to 5 drop-in visits as needed. For extended care, I may be available for overnight stays in your home depending on location and scheduling. Rates for overnight services vary. The best way to find out if I can accommodate your needs is to reach out! I'll always do my best to work with you and provide the highest level of care for your fur babies. When caring for pets in a client's home, I prioritize maintaining their normal routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. For drop-in visits, I provide feeding, fresh water, litter box or potty breaks, playtime, medication (if needed), and plenty of attention and affection. For house sitting, I ensure pets receive consistent care, exercise, companionship, and supervision while keeping their environment clean and stress-free. I always treat my clients' homes and pets with the same care and respect I would my own.

“I have 2 dogs that needed to be walked while I recover from ankle surgery and she was available to walk my dogs twice a day for a reasonable price. She is patient and kind to them. One is anxious around people and she did not force herself on him. While the other is energized puppy in a 2 yer old body. He always get so happy to hear my door bell ring. I definitely will continue to use her whenever the occasion calls for it.”

Somiya was very proactive and reached out to meet my dog beforehand so that she would know how to best take care of her. I also loved the follow up pictures and notes on how my doggie behaved. I definitely recommend Somiya if you are looking for someone to go above and beyond for your pets needs!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
