“I absolutely love Veronica! She’s always the one to watch my kitty while I’m gone. No task is too small or too big for her! If you tell her that your animal really appreciates something special she will always do it!”

“Meghan was awesome! She made sure that Robbie was comfortable and sent pictures to me as I was away. She also met with me beforehand to see if it was a good match for both of us. Thank you so much:)”

We have chickens, a cat and my dad’s (once upon a time service) dog with us as well. I’m currently caretaking for my father with the help of caregivers and do not have major obligations during the day and have my youngest still at home with me so I’ll have plenty of time to dog walk or just check in on them while you are away. We currently have my dad’s service dog and I had two dogs growing up whom I loved dearly. I have also had cats and my daughter currently has one whom I care for since my daughter is young. I feel each individual person cares for their pets in the way that is best for them. I will be sure to care for your animal in the way you believe is best!

I can administer medicine with food, and take special time playing or cuddling your sweet baby! I have a very open schedule! Any requirements I have outside of taking care of your best friend I am able to do virtually and at any time of day, so it won't prevent me from the care they deserve. I can keep a close eye on your pet(s), and I'll make sure to play with them so they don't feel restless. I try to show up with as much love and care I am physically capable of. I've always been drawn to animals, (even more than humans sometimes lol) so believe me when I say that my top priority is making sure your pet(s) are happy and healthy with me!
About: I've been around all types of dogs and pets since I was a little girl! My parents have put me in charge of my dogs countless times and I believe our fur children deserve the best care! When I take care of others pets I not only care for them but also for the adults that are putting them into my care, taking care of their home and their belongings! I am currently a stay-at-home wife so I have the flexibility and time to care for your pets at any time! I am starting a social media business so I wanted to help out some pet parents while I have the freetime! I will be with your pet anywhere they go and make sure they are safe and friendly with other pets if we encounter them! I will play and exercise with them so they are not as hyper for you when you come home!
“Lucas was amazing! We had a last minute need for someone to lay our dogs out on a holiday weekend. I inquired at close to midnight and he responded quickly - which is a bonus because I didn’t expect to hear anything until morning! He communicated when he was there, let us know he was running a few minutes late, and sent us pictures! We will definitely use Lucas again.”

Jessica continues to be such a huge help in looking after our kitties while we’re away! She is incredibly loving and seems to genuinely cares about them which makes me so happy. She provides great communication that gives us reassurance that everyone is doing well so we don’t have to worry about them. I’m so grateful to have such an wonderful person to check in on my little fur family! Thank you so much!

Lucas was amazing! We had a last minute need for someone to lay our dogs out on a holiday weekend. I inquired at close to midnight and he responded quickly - which is a bonus because I didn’t expect to hear anything until morning! He communicated when he was there, let us know he was running a few minutes late, and sent us pictures! We will definitely use Lucas again.

She takes a ton of pictures and follows instructions exactly. She takes care of our dogs plus the added benefit of seeing our dogs have fun and be relaxed with her. It was a last minute request which she eagerly honored and we are so grateful that someone could check on our pups while we were away. It was such a last minute need (we stayed at the aquarium too long and needed someone to check on them the same day) and she fulfilled all our needs as well as went over the top to make sure we were informed of the care. I will be booking again if needed!

This was my first time booking with Colby and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. He is very kind, showed up on time and lefts notes. Our two dogs enjoyed Colby. When we came home they both acted fine where in the past it took some time. He was able to give us a peace of mind. Highly recommend and will be booking him again on our next trip.

Lauren was an absolutely wonderful pet sitter! Her communication was excellent from start to finish, and we especially loved receiving daily pictures and updates—they gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear our pup was happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. Lauren did a fantastic job with walking, feeding, and making sure our dog always had fresh water, but most importantly, she truly showed our baby so much love and attention. You can tell she genuinely cares about the pets she looks after. We will definitely be booking with her again!

I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for my two girls while I was away overseas! From the start, Hayley was kind, professional, and clearly experienced with cats. She sent me daily updates and photos, which helped me relax knowing my girls were happy, well-fed, and getting plenty of love. When I came home, everything was spotless—food bowls clean, litter boxes fresh, and two very content kitties waiting to greet me. It was clear they’d been well cared for and comfortable the entire time. I’ll absolutely be booking with her again the next time I travel. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, loving cat sitter!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
