“Cecil was great! Our three cats are trouble makers but Cecil made it so that we didn’t have to worry about them while my husband and I were on our honeymoon! Will definitely be booking with Cecil in the future (:”

About: I’m a dependable caregiver who takes pride in providing safe, structured, and loving care. I pay close attention to routines, behavior, and comfort, and I’m always gentle and respectful with every animal I meet. You can count on me for punctuality, clear updates, and a calm presence that helps pets feel secure while you’re away. As a dog lover and owner, I possess expertise in pet care. I volunteer in an animal hospital called Columbia Belvedere Animal Hospital, where I shadow the vet and perform other tasks like water, walking , bathing, administering medicine, cleaning , and assisting with front desk work. I am home throughout the entire week and ready to take care of your amazing pet. I am available whenever you need me. I am very excited to be your dog's caretaker. I make pet care a natural part of my weekly routine. I’m already used to structuring my days around responsibility, so adding walks, feedings, playtime, and check‑ins fits smoothly into my schedule. I plan ahead, stay organized, and make sure each pet gets consistent attention and care. Whether it’s morning walks, afternoon drop‑ins, or weekend stays, I’m able to give pets the time, patience, and energy they need to feel comfortable and cared for. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as familiar and stress‑free as possible. I follow all instructions exactly feeding schedules, walk times, medications, crate routines, and any house rules you have in place. I make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, playtime, and calm companionship. I keep your home tidy, respect your space, and send regular updates so you always know how your pet is doing.
About: I have over 21 years experience caring for dogs and cats. Through my volunteer work at animal shelters and pet sitting for family and friends I have developed an understanding for pet care needs. I currently have open availability for drop ins for early mornings and late nights to accommodate for 3rd shift. I am avaliable on weekends and some holidays for drop ins and walks but, unfortunately at the moment I'm not available for over night stays or boarding. My schedule is open for most of the day except between 4PM-8PM during the week. When sitting in your home I ensure your pets safety and follow all your care routines. I make sure your fur baby is well taken care of and loved.
“Brittany did an incredible job watching my two cats while I was away for the holidays! She was so pleasant to meet before I left town and I loved hearing about her own dog and cat. I knew she would take great care of my babies. She was also incredibly prompt replying to my inquiries and flexible with my schedule. I really appreciated her help!”

About: My preferred name is Leo. I've been caring for animals for most of my life. Growing up, I was responsible for helping care for three family dogs, including feeding, walking, playing with them, and making sure they were happy and well cared for. I also grew up around cats, as my mom had several throughout the years, so I'm very comfortable caring for cats of all ages and personalities. Today, I have a cat of my own, so I understand the daily responsibility and attention that pets need. I'm patient, dependable, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. Whether your pet needs exercise, playtime, companionship, or simply someone to keep them safe and comfortable while you're away, I'll treat them with the same love and care I give my own pets. My schedule is very flexible, and I'm available seven days a week, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and overnight stays. I work on my own schedule, so I can usually accommodate last-minute bookings as well. Whether you need someone for a quick check-in, daily visits, overnight care, or extended pet sitting, I'll do my best to be there whenever you need reliable care for your pet. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I keep my home clean, organized, and pet-friendly. I currently care for my own cat, who is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and well loved. I make sure all of my houseplants are non-toxic to pets, keep anything potentially dangerous out of reach, and provide plenty of toys, enrichment, and a cat tree for play and relaxation. I'm attentive to each pet's individual needs and always make sure they have fresh food and water, a clean space, exercise, affection, and plenty of attention. I also have experience helping cats socialize through supervised playdates with friends' cats, so I understand how to create a calm, safe, and positive environment. I'll care for your pet with the same love and attention I give my own.

I can take them outside for potty breaks, walks, or any other needs 24/7. I have a fenced in yard, and walking trails right next to my house. I also am available to stay over at your home and be with your dog 24/7. 100% of my clients, will receive photos of their baby!

About: Hi :)) I love exercising and being outdoors and nothing is better than doing that with a dog! I love walking and taking care of dogs and I have plenty of experience with dogs (young and old), their dietary needs, exercise/physical concerns, and making sure that their overall wellbeing is taken care of and adored :)) Looking forward to meeting you and your fur babies!! I am certified in Cat and Dog First Aid from the American Red Cross. I graduated from UGA with an Economics degree and am currently in school part time (again :(( lol), as well as studying for my CPA exams, so I have a very flexible schedule! I typically exercise early, it could be very early (6am) to 2:00pm in the evening, so I am very open between those times any day of the week to take care of your pet(s) :)) Later evenings are perfectly fine as well! Please let me know what you would like for me to do for your dog (pets), their dietary and exercise/physical needs, and if house sitting along with your pet, what I need to do specifically for your household to ensure a smooth experience! I am more than willing to accommodate and want to make sure everyone is happy and healthy!

About: I am a wildlife biologist for the Georgia DNR working for the Urban Wildlife Program. I have years of experience dog-sitting, primarily for large- and medium-sized dogs in the Chicago area. My work schedule is very flexible, allowing me to take my time to care for your critters! A large part of my job is responding to wildlife emergencies using years of experience and best-judgment decision making, which makes for a great pet-sitter. I am a wildlife biologist that works from home in Decatur. My workload is quite low so it is easy to fit pet care into my schedule throughout the week. My flexible schedule affords me ample time to provide proper attention to animals. I have a calm demeanor with strong attention to detail when it comes to care instruction. My experience as a wildlife biologist has trained me how to monitor animals for emergencies and how to be calm in the face of the unknown or unexpected. I am used to following strict research protocol, so following along for the care of your animal will be a breeze.
“Katlyn did an amazing job with my baby justice. I enjoyed and appreciated all the pictures she sent and really felt like she cared for my baby as if they were one of her own. She was also very professional and wasn’t afraid to ask questions. Definitely recommend booking with her I know I will.”

“Mirabella did a wonderful job checking in on our cats on short notice. She kept the dishes full, cleaned the boxes, and provided photos of the ones she managed to spot. Will book again!”

“Ben was fantastic! Starting with our meet & greet, he went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and more importantly that he was prepared to give the best possible care to my pet which he absolutely did. About: I've had pets my entire life and have been through every stage, from bottle babies to seniors, and I've never met an animal I didn't love. I have volunteered in shelters throughout the years, so I have plenty of experience cleaning up after animals and dispensing medication, when necessary. I work in academia, so my schedule is very flexible, and I can check in on pets and go for walks in the middle of the day. I work in academia, so aside from the odd meeting, I have a flexible schedule. I also have the freedom to work from home when needed, so I can be home when we have visitors. I have four cats, so I can only host cats in the house. We have rooms with closed doors where my cats aren't allowed, so any visitors can have their own space if needed. At a client's house, I'll gladly stop by for an informal visit to meet your pet, learn their routine, and collect keys.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs on and off for more than 10 years, helping family, friends, and neighbors whenever they need a reliable extra hand. I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for while their owners are away. I live in a dog-friendly neighborhood with plenty of space for walks, as well as a large fenced-in backyard that’s perfect for playtime and exercise. I’m also close to several scenic walking trails and dog parks, giving your pup plenty of opportunities for outdoor fun and enrichment. While I don’t currently have a dog of my own, I regularly spend time with my brother and sister-in-law’s dogs when they visit. This has given me experience with a variety of personalities, energy levels, and care needs. I also have a designated space available for a crate if your dog uses one, helping them feel secure and at home during their stay. Please note that I work in the office Monday through Wednesday and am not home during standard business hours. If your dog requires constant supervision or cannot comfortably be left alone during those workdays, I may not be the best fit. However, for independent dogs who are comfortable with a hybrid work schedule, I’m happy to provide a safe, loving environment with plenty of attention before and after work. While I am not home Mon - Wed, I make sure every dog in my care receives plenty of attention, exercise, and affection before and after work. My day starts with a morning potty break followed by breakfast (for pups who eat twice a day). Before leaving for work, I ensure your dog is comfortable and settled in for the day. Once I’m home, the focus is entirely on them. Evenings include another potty break, dinner, playtime, and a walk around the neighborhood. I believe regular exercise and outdoor time are essential for a dog’s well-being, so I make it a priority to provide opportunities for physical activity and mental stimulation. On weekends, WFH days and days off, I can offer additional walks, backyard playtime, and plenty of one-on-one attention. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable environment where your dog feels at home while you’re away. I care for pets in my home by making sure all potential hazards are put away, since I know how curious fur babies can be. When I’m home, I keep a close eye on them while also giving them the freedom to explore and relax as they need.

Esontay is amazing! I always feel completely at ease leaving my dogs in her care because I know they are in good hands. She is dependable, attentive, and genuinely cares about them. Having someone I can trust to take great care of my dogs while I’m away gives me such peace of mind. I would absolutely recommend Esontay to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!

Ariana was an absolutely wonderful sitter for my dog, and I would happily book with her again. She came every day as scheduled, took great care of my dog, and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. She was incredibly attentive, reliable, and communicative throughout the entire stay. One of my favorite parts was receiving the daily updates and photos. It was clear from the pictures that my dog was comfortable, well cared for, and getting plenty of love and attention. If you’re considering booking Ariana, don’t let the number of reviews deter you. She is trustworthy, dependable, and genuinely cares about the pets she looks after. I felt completely confident leaving my dog in her care, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and responsible pet sitter.

Ace was absolutely amazing with my 3 dogs. When I came home everything was as clean as it could be and I know my dogs must have had a great time because they ran past me out from their room to go look around the house to find Ace. Would definitely recommend anyone to book. Also was super patient and responsive when I was trying to book. Will definitely be a return customer. This was a last minute booking I did to leave for Xmas. I would have not been able to go home to IA if it weren't for Ace letting me book last minute.

Denise took such wonderful care of my fur babies. From the moment she arrived, I could tell they were in good hands. She’s warm, professional, kind, timely, and always responsive. My babies absolutely loved her, and so did I! I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a sitter.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
