About: I’m a responsible 26 yr old and I’ve been a dog lover my whole life. I’ve got over 5 years experience walking/sitting dogs. I’ve got 2 beautiful dogs, Storm & Groot, a silver lab & labordoodle so I know how important your 4 legged family members are to you. I know how important it is to provide high quality care for your dogs. Feel free to reach out with any questions. I try to make myself available 7 days a week and provide the love and care that all dogs need and deserve. I believe exercise is an important element to your dog’s physical and emotional health. We have 2 dogs with a fenced in backyard for them to enjoy the outdoors. I also think it’s also important for dogs to walk the neighborhood to become familiar with the area should one happen to get loose - I’ll teach them how to get home. I’ve also got experience with dogs required to be crated. I believe all dogs have different needs & desires, which is why I adapt to each dog with love and respect.

About: What sets me apart is the calm, safe, and loving environment I provide for every pet I care for. Animals naturally tend to feel comfortable around me, and I take pride in building trust with them through patience, attention, and affection. I have experience caring for pets of all ages, from playful kittens and puppies to senior pets who may need extra patience and gentle care. I pay close attention to each pet’s unique personality, energy level, and needs so they feel secure, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. I truly enjoy spending quality time with animals, whether that’s active playtime, relaxing cuddles, or simply keeping them company and making them feel loved. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I work from home as an online tutor. My flexible schedule allows me to give pets attention before, after, and in between tutoring sessions throughout the day. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, whether that means relaxing indoors with cuddles and companionship or getting outside for walks, playtime, fresh air, and exercise. Caring for pets is something I truly enjoy, and I love making sure they feel comfortable, loved, and well cared for while their owners are away. Safety and comfort are always my top priorities when caring for pets in both my home and a client’s home. I make sure pets are always supervised, secure, and in a calm environment where they can feel safe and relaxed. When outdoors, I stay very aware of our surroundings and communicate carefully with others before allowing any interactions with people or other animals. I always prioritize safe walks, playtime, and exercise. Indoors, I make sure the environment is clean and pet-safe by keeping anything potentially harmful out of reach. I also pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and body language to ensure they are comfortable, happy, and enjoying their time with me. My goal is to provide loving, attentive care so pets feel safe, cared for, and at home while their owners are away.

About: I have had my Siberian Husky American Foxhound since 2019! She is my entire world and is like my child. I love getting to take care of her when I am not teaching little ones at school! I love dogs and everyone in my life has dogs. This includes another American Foxhound mix, a Pitbull mix, and a Labordoodle which I spend extended time with each. I would love to get a chance to walk your fur baby and take great care of them! I am currently done the school year and have my days open for summer break! I am hoping to fill that time with walking some adorable dogs! I live in an apartment so I take my dog on at least 2 walks a day. We often take her in the car to different places such as the beach. I am understanding that everyone has a different routine for their dog and that it is important for the dog and family to stay on that routine! The more information I am given about your dog the better care I am able to give them.

About: My name is Alice, I am currently a first year in college. I am studying to become a special education teacher and I love taking care of animals and since I can’t have one in my home it would be great for me to be able to go out and meet other dogs and cats. I have been in a class called animal science for the past four years and it has taught me the basics and some professional tips for taking care of little animals and big animals. Particularly my favorite cat is a tabby and my favorite dogs range from Pitbulls to Rottweilers. I am very caring and understanding, I am kind hearted and humorous. I am slightly allergic to cats but I usually bring my own allergy relief. I’m currently unemployed so I am currently available whenever you need me but my only transportation at the moment is walking it could take me about 20 minutes to get there depending on where you are I have a fenced yard and I take both of my dogs for walks frequently, I have a dog that is blind and deaf so I have to take extra care of him

About: Hi, I'm Lesley and lucky enough to have the ability to travel to where you live to take care of your animals and your home. I'm ready, willing, and able to help out with what you need and want for your animals. I have over two decades of experience in caring for pets -- grew up with 2 yellow labs. When I went off to college, it was the first time I experienced having the whole bed to myself. No hogging doggies.!! Since my 20s, I've had cats. Lately, I have taken care of dogs mostly -- all sizes and shapes from small Jack Russells to large pit bulls. Some with special needs and special diets and some super healthy and wanting a zillion walks. I've even taken care of a bunny (named Valentino who did tricks). No doubt about it: pets are our children and please be assured if your pets are in my care they will be well taken care of and well loved. And your home and rules respected. A bit about me: I worked as an office manager for tech startups in the Bay Area but recently decided to have more of a work-life balance and decided to travel for the past two years and pet sit at the same time -- combining both my loves. Now i am settled in Wilmington and ready to take care of your babies! I am now retired (how can that be!!) so I have flexibility and time to take care of pet sitting during the week and on weekends. I absolutely follow the rules of pet owners to ensure the safety of the animals I take care. If an emergency situation arises, I contact the owner(s) immediately. Communication is key.

About: Taking care of animals is second nature to me. I have been around animals as long as I can remember, starting off caring for my own pets and then those of loved ones and neighbors. It can be so hard to leave your animal at home and I believe you deserve someone that can give you peace of mind that your pet is being fed, loved, and cared for just as you would if you were home. Aside from pet sitting I am also a waitress at a nearby restaurant. I have a pretty flexible schedule and have the luxury of choosing when I work. I believe that if you choose to have an animal that means you should know how to properly care for one. As for my animals, they are fed a healthy meal in the morning and night. I recognize that it is important for their safety and health that they are eating out of bowls that are cleaned twice a day, as well as a full and clean water dispenser. Maintaining fresh litter boxes and keeping their areas clean, I thrive to scoop the boxes once if not twice a day. My feline friends deserve the same care and cleanliness that any person does.

About: I’ve had dogs in my household since I was 5, meaning I’m skilled in taking care of dogs and am ready for anything they might need. I’ve dogs at for multiple neighbors of the years, and many of those dogs have been old dogs with specific instructions to keep them healthy. I’ve done multiple weeks of overnight care for dogs as well as simple daycare or dog walks for people that need help. I’m currently studying to become a vet and I would love to have the chance to get to know your furry companion! I am open to help out any day of the week as needed. I have a part-time job with schedule hours that change each week, but none of those hours include nighttime’s. I am willing to take your pet even last minute if I am capable. In my home, I make sure to let the dog out first thing in the morning and right before bed to allow them to use the bathroom as needed. In my household I take my dog for a walk around 9 every morning and 5 every night, then feeding him at 6pm. Other food given to him includes a treat in the morning and a couple in the afternoon that I put in his bowl. In between those times, I will spend time with my dog either sitting on the couch together watching tv or playing games.

About: I've lived with and cared for dogs for my entire life; I love all animals, big, small, young, old and anywhere in between, the more animals the better! I have experience with dogs, cats, rats, hamsters, and fish and I get along with all of them. I am available for early mornings and late nights as well as weekends. I am also familiar with and unphased by the less glamorous sides of pet care, I don't mind cleaning up after puppy accidents, I have some experience grooming our shaggier four legged friends, and I know how to administer most puppy medications. I work from home so my availability is wide open for whatever you and your animals need. I am an extremely active person so there is no limit to much I will love and play with your pup, but I will also be patient and sensitive to nervous dog and cats. There is no puppy personality that I don't love. I can't wait to meet your dog! I work remote Monday - Wednesday. I also have weekends and evenings available for more involved activities. When im not pet sitting i like to take my own dog for hiking/ camping adventures! A typical day starts with breakfast and a nice romp around the yard, or brisque walk around the neighborhood so your dog can go potty and get out some morning energy. I have a flexible schedule at work so i can take frequent breaks to play and attend to your critters needs. In the evenings, im free again and i like to spend time being active, whether its a long walk, a game of fetch, or even an adventure to the park

We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Chyann took care of our pup with such patience and love—especially when things got tricky. She was super attentive, thoughtful with our home, and even went the extra mile when she needed to bring our dog to her own place. We felt totally at ease knowing he was in her hands. We’re already looking forward to having her watch our dog again next time we’re away! Highly recommend Chyann!

Drew has been a wonderful caregiver for Lilly. He is incredibly gentle, patient, and caring, and she absolutely loves him. He has been helping care for her since the day she came home to me, and I have always trusted him completely with her well-being. Drew also helped care for my previous dog, Addison, who has since passed away, and he showed the same compassion, kindness, and dedication with her. It’s clear that he genuinely loves animals and treats them as if they were his own. He is reliable, responsible, and attentive, and I always have peace of mind knowing Lilly is in his care. I would recommend Drew to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter or dog walker.

Today was my dog’s first solo walk with Shanisa and I couldn’t be happier! Shanisa and I worked extensively with my dog to get him comfortable with her because he is usually very wary of strangers. He warmed up to Shanisa quickly and was comfortable with her in our home just by themselves. I now have more freedom and less worry knowing my dog will be safe and cared for when I cannot be home.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Wilmington. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. • 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
