“Sarah was great and my kitty was very well looked after! She was very responsive and easy to communicate with. Would definitely book her again. I know my cat appreciated the company 😊”

“Jordan from Rover was awesome!! The dogs liked her right away and had fun playing with her even when the outside weather was lousy. Her messages to us were great and we knew that everything was ok with our dogs. Will definitely call her again when we go out of town!”

“Emily did a wonderful job for our two week trip taking care of our two cats! She was always very responsive and sent us nice photos and a few short videos which was much appreciated by all of us. Do not hesitate to have Emily take care of your pets! We had full confidence in her and knew the cats were super well taken care of.”

“Armani is great! She has good energy, is attentive, and very considerate. I recommend you giving her a chance as we were grateful for her assist with our puppy! We only stopped working with her due to her schedule needs, but we'd happily consider her again!”

“Julia was absolutely excellent! My dog, Nash is a bit jumpy, nervous and skittish as he was abused prior. Julia was extremely patient with me and him, flexible with times, and diligent about updating me and texting me. Will certainly use her services again!”

About: I’ve been caring for pets for most of my life, starting at age 16 when I helped my mom with dog sitting and house sitting. By the time I turned 18, I had built my own small client base and began independently caring for pets. Over the years, I’ve cared for a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, fish, and birds. My dog experience ranges from energetic puppies to senior dogs of all sizes. Many of the pets I’ve cared for have required daily medications, so I’m very comfortable managing medical routines and special care needs. I also have experience handling unexpected situations, including transporting pets to the veterinarian for emergencies while families are away, always keeping owners informed and their pets safe. I work full time at Dartmouth Hitchcock in the operating room, but my role is very flexible. I’m able to step away during the day for check-ins, walks, feedings, and potty breaks, and I can also work remotely when needed. This flexibility allows me to give pets consistent attention throughout the day rather than limiting care to early mornings or evenings. I’m very reliable with schedules and communication, and I make sure every pet I care for gets the time, attention, and love they deserve. At this time, I’m unable to offer dog sitting in my own home, as one of my dogs struggles to make new friends. I provide in-home sitting instead, which I actually prefer—this allows your dog to stay in their familiar environment, stick to their normal routine, and avoid the added stress of a new space. My goal is always to keep your pet comfortable, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.

About: My experience comes from caring for my own dogs and dog sitting big dogs for friends who don't want their pups to stay in their comfy familiar home while they are away. I've owned labs, huskies, shepherds and collies. Most recently I had two collies that have travelled with me around the world. Sadly both have passed recently So I'm without a dog of my own but love having them around. I am happy to meet new dogs of all ages and breeds. I love large dogs too but my place may be too small for some but I'm happy to meet up and see what works. I work from home a lot and am very flexible to drop in or take your pup(s) for a walk. I run most days and can have pups join if that's something they like. I am very cautious about dog handling and will follow your instructions. I will only care for dogs in my home after I've taken care of them at your home and I am familiar enough with the dog so that I am sure it will be ok in a new space and that I can accommodate its needs.
“Thank you for taking such good care of JJ while we were gone Elizabeth! You graciously helped me out in a last minute situation, and I am very grateful, and so is JJ! 😊”

About: If my rates are an obstacle in caring for your pet then I’m happy to provide a sliding scale and have a discussion upon request. Professionally, I was vet assistant at an animal clinic before returning to farm animal work. At the clinic I learned the basics of animal health care and I learned how to properly handle dogs and cats. Throughout the last twelve years I’ve farm-sat and pet-sat for numerous friends and family members! In the last year I worked at a doggy daycare and worked groups of 11-12 large dogs. I also worked in group of 15+ small dogs and "solos" (highly dog aggressive dogs). Working in that environment took me to the next level of understanding cues and dog behavior. I learned to advocate for dogs, look for health and safety warning signs and how to manage group dynamics. I am currently a *human* nurse and making time for animals because that is where I feel I really come alive. :) I believe that animals are part of the family and I will treat them like so. I have basic experience with dog training and I personally believe that dogs thrive in structured and predictable environments. I love exercising and having fun with dogs, too! I have availability to help you with your pup or cat! Depending on the health of your pet I will socialize and exercise your pet's body and mind and of course offer any snuggles that are welcomed. I love exercising animals as much as it is tolerated by them. I currently work per diem as a staff nurse in Lebanon NH which gives me a lot of flexibility to care for pets. I am happy to abide by your house rules and expectations for your pet(s). I enjoy walks to dog parks, trails, playing in fenced yards and practicing obedience and tricks!
“Caitlin was wonderful with our dogs during our day trip to PTown. She completely responsible, very nice, was on time for their potty breaks and sent pictures. We’ll definitely get in touch with her again!”

“My good experience with Rainie started from when I corresponded with her when looking for a cat sitter: she responded very promptly and was very agreeable for a meet and greet with my cat. Rainie approached the meet and greet like an interview; she is warm and funny but asked lots of relevant questions about his care and patterns. (He also liked her right away.) She came over when she said she would, and stuck to her word that she would go over at the same time of day in order to provide some consistency to my cat. I felt very comfortable having heard how attuned she was to his needs. All in all I found her very professional and I came home to the litter box in order and the apartment as I left it! I’m very grateful for her help.”

About: I have always had multiple pets, dogs and cats. I currently have a black lab named bear and a black cat named Rosie. I also have house and babysat for a number of families. I love hanging out with animals and am known to be super attentive and responsible. I work part time in the summer and often either work a morning or night shift, not typically all day and have time to play with your pups! (Or cats) I will be sure to spend ample time with your dogs outside either within a fenced area or on a leash and will make sure your house and pup are left the same way I found them.

“We have two dogs, one with a little anxiety, but as soon as he met Kathryn he was put at ease. She is so kind and thoughtful and gave our dogs so much love while we were gone. You could tell how happy they were to be playing with her in the photos that she sent. The last photo they looked so sad when she was leaving. We highly recommend Kathryn, she was amazing!!”

“Katherine did a wonderful job with Piper, who is an anxious rescue senior with a lot of health problems. I will be contacting Katherine for all future needs and have complete confidence in her that she can handle old dogs, anxious dogs, and sick dogs, even when that’s all rolled into one!”

About: I have worked in veterinary medicine for over 6 years and have been a pet owner most of my life. I have had a hospice dog and have a soft spot for senior animals. I currently have a Siberian husky, a husky/shepard mix and 2 cats! I currently have a flexible schedule that allows me to be available as needed. Animals are a significant part of my life and I look forward to helping you and your family. I am available for dog walks, drop ins, or pet sitting. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats as part of our family. They are definitely spoiled but also well trained. I take pet care very seriously, every animal deserves respectful and loving care. My dogs require a lot of activity due to their breeds which has given me a lot of experience with high energy, high needs dogs.
Wilder cat parents share their Rover experiences
We rarely travel because we have a challenging dog that does not do well with strangers in our home. Sarah came for a couple of initial meet and greets and our dog seemed at ease with her presence and weekend drop-in visits went so well that we booked Sarah to care for our dogs and cats again later this year. Thank you, Sarah!
Maria provided such great care of my cats. Her love of and enthusiasm for cats is so clear, and she wanted to make sure my cats had a good experience while she was visiting (eg asking about what specifically they enjoy doing for play during visits). She gave detailed information about each visit. I had great peace of mind being on vacation knowing she was caring for them!

Samantha did an excellent job looking after our 2 cats (and 4 chickens) at our house over a three week period. Her communication was excellent - always responding swiftly and thoroughly to our messages, and sending rover cards with great photos after her visits. Our cats tend to get a bit grumpy with each other while we're away, and we were impressed to see relatively little evidence of fighting when we got back. We also appreciated her willingness to look after the chickens - which are a bit out of scope for rover - at a reasonable rate. The chicken coop was just completed before we left, and had some hiccups in the cold weather, which she dealt with very well. We would definitely book again!
