About: My experience comes from caring for my own dogs and dog sitting big dogs for friends who don't want their pups to stay in their comfy familiar home while they are away. I've owned labs, huskies, shepherds and collies. Most recently I had two collies that have travelled with me around the world. Sadly both have passed recently So I'm without a dog of my own but love having them around. I am happy to meet new dogs of all ages and breeds. I love large dogs too but my place may be too small for some but I'm happy to meet up and see what works. I work from home a lot and am very flexible to drop in or take your pup(s) for a walk. I run most days and can have pups join if that's something they like. I am very cautious about dog handling and will follow your instructions. I will only care for dogs in my home after I've taken care of them at your home and I am familiar enough with the dog so that I am sure it will be ok in a new space and that I can accommodate its needs.

About: I’ve had dogs for most of my life and have been a trusted pet sitter for family and friends over the years. I genuinely love both dogs and cats-they bring so much joy to my day! Whether it’s going for walks, playing, or simply keeping your pet company, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. I treat every pet like they’re my own and understand how important it is to have someone you can trust caring for your furry family member. I work full-time Monday through Friday, but I’m available for walks before work, during my lunch break, and after work. I’m also happy to provide overnight care in your home if needed. I’ll do my best to accommodate your pet’s routine and provide dependable, loving care while you’re away. Your pet’s comfort and safety are always my top priority. I’m happy to care for them in the familiar environment of your home and will follow any feeding schedules, medication instructions, exercise routines, or special requests you have. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, or simply relaxing with company, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for.
“Katherine was great! Checked on my cats, provided cute photos daily and asked for clarification on anything she needed. I trusted they were being taken care of while I was away!”

“Izzy is fantastic! We had an issue with our auto feeder and she graciously agreed to add a visit to make sure it was functioning properly. She’s responsive, dependable, and friendly. Highly recommend.”

“Olivia did an amazing job taking care of our two cats! She was extremely responsible and responsive and sent lots of pictures/videos each day. We wouldn’t hesitate to book Olivia again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for the best care for their pets.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs my whole life, including anxious, high maintenance dogs. Experienced with multiple dogs, I provide patient, attentive, loving care and constant supervision. I’m currently moving to Maine from Vermont and have plenty of time to give your pup the attention they deserve! While I’m looking for a part time job, my schedule is very flexible, so I’m available most days and times for pet care. I have a fully fenced yard and a very energetic one year old pup, so your dog can enjoy plenty of playtime, exercise, and cuddles throughout the day. I love taking long walks, so keeping active won’t be a problem! I’ve also worked on leash training with my own dog, giving me experience handling dogs that pull or need a little extra patience on walks.
“Rainie is such an amazing sister! She’s incredibly attentive to my fur baby’s needs. Plus, she’s a wonderful person who always knows what I need and offers any help she can while I’m away from my babies. I would definitely recommend her to take care of your fur baby—I’d give her a perfect 100/10! 🩷😁😁”

“Armani is great! She has good energy, is attentive, and very considerate. I recommend you giving her a chance as we were grateful for her assist with our puppy! We only stopped working with her due to her schedule needs, but we'd happily consider her again!”

“Caitlin was a wonderful caretaker for our bunny! I really appreciated how responsive Caitlin was to all of my messages. Caitlin was also very punctual for all of her visits and took great care of our bun. I look forward to having Caitlin visit Pee Wee again in the future!”

“We have two dogs, one with a little anxiety, but as soon as he met Kathryn he was put at ease. She is so kind and thoughtful and gave our dogs so much love while we were gone. You could tell how happy they were to be playing with her in the photos that she sent. The last photo they looked so sad when she was leaving. We highly recommend Kathryn, she was amazing!!”

“Sean was great with our 9 year old aussie/corgi. We travelled from Canada and visited Vins Bird rehab Centre while Sean took care of our dog "Willow". Sean responded quickly and was easy to communicate with. He sent updates, pictures, location, and timings for return. Willow had a great time under his care. I wouldn't hesitate to contact Sean again.”

About: I can RUN or WALK your dog! I have owned/looked after pets my whole life (small, medium size, large dogs and cats). I absolutely love all animals and am an extremely dependable, trustworthy and communicative person. Being a fitness enthusiast I am willing to run with your pets or throw the ball if you want them to get tired out! My schedule is extremely flexible. I am going back to school to get my masters in Nutrition Sciences and currently work in the kitchen at a Presbyterian/St. Lukes Medical Center in Denver. Playing division 1 sports in college taught me so many things including being diligent and extremely hard working. I will always be on time and conscientious of the details that are so important to your pets' needs. I can't wait to meet you and your little friend if you will have me! Currently part time so contact me and we can work something out! I am happy to work my schedule around you or chat through times that work best. Happy to come to your house and take care of your animal! I am very respectful of the space I’m in! If you need something small done around the house too, I’m happy to take care of it!

About: Hi, I’m Meredith! I work full-time in the dairy industry, but when I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me spending time with animals. I absolutely love dogs, but I’m not in a place to have one of my own right now, so I enjoy using my free time to walk, play with, and care for other people’s dogs. It’s the perfect way for me to get my dog fix while helping busy pet parents! I do have two cats at home who keep me entertained, and I’ve spent my life around animals of all kinds. I helped establish and lived on my parents’ bison farm and still help out there regularly. In addition to bison, I’ve cared for pigs, chickens, and goats, so I’m comfortable around a variety of animals and genuinely enjoy being around them. I also grew up riding horses and have extensive experience handling and caring for them. Being around animals my entire life has taught me how to recognize their individual personalities, respect their boundaries, and provide patient, attentive care. Whether your pet loves walks, playtime, or just having someone to keep them company, I’ll treat them with the same care and attention I’d give my own. I know every pet has their own personality, and I’m happy to adapt to their individual needs to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! I work full-time in the dairy industry Monday through Friday, so I’m typically available for walks and drop-in visits in the evenings on weekdays. My weekends are generally much more flexible, allowing me to accommodate walks and drop-in visits. My schedule is usually consistent, and I’ll always communicate clearly with you about my availability. Unfortunately my apartment complex does not allow me to bring animals to my apartment. However, I am willing to travel to a clients home to care for their animals. I treat every client, their pets and their home with the utmost respect and care.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Wilder
Maria took great care of our cat. She is detail-oriented and followed my instructions closely. She documented and communicated with me after each visit. I chose Maria after meeting her in person, and I am so glad I did. She is reliable, responsible, and clearly cares about the cats. Thanks to her, I was able to enjoy a worry free vacation knowing my cat was in good hands. I would definitely work with Maria again and highly recommend her to anyone who needs cat drop-in service.

We rarely travel because we have a challenging dog that does not do well with strangers in our home. Sarah came for a couple of initial meet and greets and our dog seemed at ease with her presence and weekend drop-in visits went so well that we booked Sarah to care for our dogs and cats again later this year. Thank you, Sarah!
Samantha did an excellent job looking after our 2 cats (and 4 chickens) at our house over a three week period. Her communication was excellent - always responding swiftly and thoroughly to our messages, and sending rover cards with great photos after her visits. Our cats tend to get a bit grumpy with each other while we're away, and we were impressed to see relatively little evidence of fighting when we got back. We also appreciated her willingness to look after the chickens - which are a bit out of scope for rover - at a reasonable rate. The chicken coop was just completed before we left, and had some hiccups in the cold weather, which she dealt with very well. We would definitely book again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wilder. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
