“Sky was amazing, she was perfectly on time, took great care of both my dogs (1 high energy and 1 old man). She even brought over some dog puzzles for them to snack and play with. I got lots of pictures and videos while away, and felt completely at ease knowing they were well taken care of! She is definitely a dog lover and I plan to book with her again soon!”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. I have hands-on experience working as a veterinary assistant, where I safely handled dogs and cats of all sizes, administered medications and vaccines under veterinary supervision, monitored pets during recovery, and learned to recognize signs of illness or distress. I'm also experienced with senior pets, puppies and kittens, and pets that need a little extra patience or special care. Whether your pet needs an energetic walking buddy, someone to stick to a medication schedule, or simply lots of love and attention while you're away, I'll treat them like one of my own. I know how important trust is when leaving your pet with someone, and my goal is always to provide safe, reliable, and compassionate care while keeping you updated with plenty of photos and messages. I'm currently taking a gap year before beginning my bachelor's degree in Wildlife Ecology Management at Auburn University. This gives me a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide dependable pet care throughout the week. My availability may vary slightly from day to day, but I keep my calendar up to date and always communicate clearly. Whether your pet needs a walk, a drop-in visit, or extra attention while you're away, I'm committed to providing reliable, compassionate care. Your pet's safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. With my experience as a veterinary assistant, I'm comfortable caring for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities, including seniors and pets that require medication. During every visit, I'll make sure your pet has fresh food and water, plenty of exercise or playtime, bathroom breaks, and lots of love and attention. I always respect your home, follow your care instructions closely, and provide regular updates with photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for until you return!
“Laura has been awesome with our 3 dogs. She has done an overnight stay and a longer stay. She is kind and helpful with them, caring for our house as well. We’ll have her again for sure.”

“Second time using Kaitlyn for dog sitting and again she blew it out of the water! Our pup loves her and we feel so comfortable going out of town with her as our sitter.”

About: I grew up on a farm with lots of animals and my first job was walking my neighbor's dogs! Since I am in college I can't have a dog of my own, but I am ready to make fast friends with yours! I am a student and work nights as a server so I have most mornings and afternoons to spend wherever is needed to care for your pet. I also am good at staying the night and making a quality connection with your pets. Although I cannot house your pets in my apartment, I am comfortable staying at your house and taking them to a local park. I will give your pets detailed and attentive care, as often as possible.
“Caylee did an awesome job taking care of our dog! She sent me updates, with pictures, everyday. When we arrived home my house was clean, tidy, and our dog was very happy. I would definitely recommend Caylee to anyone who needs a reliable pet sitter!!”

“Chelsea was amazing! During our meet and greet she asked how often I would like updates which I found very thoughtful, and I got both pictures and videos each update! Chelsea was so kind and even put sheets and towels in the wash before leaving. I’d love to book with Chelsea again!”

“Emily did a great job taking care of our dogs and making sure they didn’t feel alone while I was away. She even walked them for us and she didn’t have to. I got a bunch of pictures and videos too which made me feel better. I highly recommend her!”

“Pretty sure my pets like Harris more than they like me now. Also my house was cleaner when I got home than when I left. She was truly incredible. 12/10 all around - will absolutely BEG her to come back next time we travel!”

“Arianna was absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly communicative from start to finish, friendly, and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. She was amazing with our dog and even brought him treats, which was such a thoughtful touch. She sent us lots of pictures and updates, and it was obvious he was happy and well cared for. On top of that, she even did a little light housekeeping, which was completely unexpected and absolutely not necessary, but so appreciated. It was such a kind gesture. We came home to a happy pup and a tidy house, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We would absolutely book Arianna again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring sitter!”

About: I’ve cared for my two family dogs, Adonis & Asha, since I was 13, gaining hands-on experience with daily routines like feeding, walking, bathing, and providing lots of love and attention. While I haven’t done professional pet sitting yet, I understand how important it is to treat pets like family. I’m reliable, caring, and committed to making sure your pet feels safe and happy while you’re away. I’m currently working part-time, while getting my Master’s at Auburn online! So I’m free pretty much all day long to care for and love on your pups while you’re away! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to follow the pet’s normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable. I make sure they’re fed on time, get plenty of playtime or walks, and have a clean space. I also pay close attention to any special instructions—whether it’s medications, quirks, or favorite toys. I treat every pet like they’re my own, with patience, care, and love.
“Great at keeping in touch and sending pictures with updates. No worries leaving our girls in his hands!! He did everything we asked him to do. We will request for him again”

About: I bring hands-on experience from working in both kennels and animal shelters, where I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all breeds and temperaments. My time in these settings has taught me the importance of routine, trust, and compassion. I also have a unique skill set in caring for exotic animals, making me versatile and prepared for any type of pet. Whether it's a playful puppy, a senior dog needing extra attention, or any other kind of pet that requires specialized care, I’m ready to provide the best care for your furry (or scaly) friend! As a college student on a pre-vet track, I’m used to balancing a busy schedule while still making time for animals. I have multiple availability blocks throughout the week, which makes it easy for me to fit pet care into my routine. I’m organized and plan ahead, so I can make sure pets get consistent care whether that’s daily walks, feeding, playtime, or check-ins. Caring for animals is already a big part of my life and future career goals, so I naturally prioritize it in my day-to-day routine. I care for pets by treating them like family and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. In a client’s home, I stick closely to their usual routine for meals, walks, and playtime so they stay comfortable in their own environment. I’ve had many pets of my own over the years, so I understand how important it is to give them not just the basics like food and water, but also attention, patience, and affection. Every pet has their own personality, and I enjoy getting to know what makes them feel most at ease.

About: An honest petsitter who’s been watching over pets regularly for the past few years via word of mouth and who has familiarity with senior dogs/cats Petsitting works well for me because it is a fairly easy job that I can do in my hometown with little commute. I am not typically gone for more than a few hours, and managing a house and pet is agreeable to me. I strongly believe in a job well done, meaning that I will care for the pet as needed including food routines, walks, any required medications, bladder inconveniences, and most importantly lovin’s🐱🐶💗
About: I grew up on a farm so I’ve been around animals all my life. Family and friends have trusted me for all of their pet-sitting needs for years. I currently have two dogs. I’ve dog sat dogs of all ages in my home and in the owners’ homes. Last fall, I witnessed a man dumping two dogs near my home. One of them was pregnant. We were able to raise the puppies and give them and the mom to loving homes. We kept the other dog and now her and the chiweenie that we already owned are best friends. I also have experience with special needs dogs. My chiweenie recently lost his left eye after another dog jumped on him. I've learned to be patient with him as he regains confidence and navigates everyday life with one eye. I am a full-time student at college. I do not have a job but I am looking for a part-time gig to do along with pet care. My classes aren't all day so I would be able to care for pets in the morning and as needed in the later afternoon/night. In the client’s home, I can feed, water, play with and follow whatever specific instructions I’m given. I can walk your dog on a leash and make sure they always have water.

About: I have had both cats and dogs and am comfortable taking care of both. I’ve also lived with multiple cats and dogs at one time. I cared for my current dog through a knee surgery so can handle recovering animals. My dog has travel anxiety so I am used to administering pills if necessary. I’ve lived with small dogs and big dogs. I’ve lived with a dog with behavioral issues. I am trustworthy, reliable, and communicative. Happy to send pictures and updates about the status of your animals! I am currently unemployed and available when needed. I can stay the night or drop in for potty breaks and spend time with your animal. Please let me know what you’re looking for and we’ll see if it’s a fit! Let’s discuss what you need for your pet together and go from there! I am able to stay at your place and do drop ins.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Whipporwill Estates
Don't hesitate to book Abby, who is an exceptional pet sitter! From the get-go, Abby was very responsive and communicative, asking us all the right questions about how to care for our home and pets. While away on vacation for 10 days, she took excellent care of our beagle and siamese. Abby quickly contacted us when she noticed our beagle, Leroy, may have a GI problem, then called our vet to ensure to make a game plan if his symptoms worsened (Leroy ended up just fine :)). When returning, it was obvious that our pets were happy and well cared for. Plus, Abby went above and beyond keeping our home immaculate (even washing the linens and making the bed), together with maintaining our pool and garden. Finally, Abby is genuinely a nice and cool person with a caring heart. Highly recommend!

Sarah was very wonderful to our pups! This was a last minute booking and our first time using Rover. She was quick to respond to all messages through the booking. She visited the dogs several times a day, brought our packages inside, and even water my plants in the summer heat. We will definitely book with her again!

Alex stepped in quickly and competently when our first house sitter was not holding up her end of the bargain - (we were very worried about our dog and our home!). This meant he had to just show up without a meet and greet with our gal Lucy (60+ pound mixed breed). He made fast friends with her, kept us updated with cute photos, and put our minds at ease. We’re grateful!

Emily was great! She was very active with our dog and took her on walks, sent regular updates with pictures, which we loved, and was generally very professional and communicative. She even turned around after she left to help us fix something with the house that she noticed. Totally above and beyond the call of duty. Can’t wait to have her back!

Hensley did a wonderful job caring for our two heeler mixes for the weekend. Our younger dog can be very skittish around new people, but Hensley took it all in stride and was able to gain her confidence and even take her for walks. Great communication and photos of the dogs throughout her stay, we highly recommend her as a sitter!

I had a truly stress free trip thanks to Laura! I was so glad to find someone to stay in my house with my dog so that my dog would be as comfortable as possible while I was gone. Laura provided me with updates every morning and evening, along with a photo. I hope Laura will be available to watch Phoebe next time I leave town again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Whipporwill Estates walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Whipporwill Estates maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Whipporwill Estates choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
