Anna was great. Our older dog was having some bladder issues, and my younger dog vomited on the bed. Anna took it in stride and did the laundry as needed, taking care of everything. She has cared for older dogs before, and dogs with disabilities, so we knew our two were in good hands!

Second time using Kaitlyn for dog sitting and again she blew it out of the water! Our pup loves her and we feel so comfortable going out of town with her as our sitter.

Chelsea was amazing! During our meet and greet she asked how often I would like updates which I found very thoughtful, and I got both pictures and videos each update! Chelsea was so kind and even put sheets and towels in the wash before leaving. I’d love to book with Chelsea again!

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. I have hands-on experience working as a veterinary assistant, where I safely handled dogs and cats of all sizes, administered medications and vaccines under veterinary supervision, monitored pets during recovery, and learned to recognize signs of illness or distress. I'm also experienced with senior pets, puppies and kittens, and pets that need a little extra patience or special care. Whether your pet needs an energetic walking buddy, someone to stick to a medication schedule, or simply lots of love and attention while you're away, I'll treat them like one of my own. I know how important trust is when leaving your pet with someone, and my goal is always to provide safe, reliable, and compassionate care while keeping you updated with plenty of photos and messages. I'm currently taking a gap year before beginning my bachelor's degree in Wildlife Ecology Management at Auburn University. This gives me a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide dependable pet care throughout the week. My availability may vary slightly from day to day, but I keep my calendar up to date and always communicate clearly. Whether your pet needs a walk, a drop-in visit, or extra attention while you're away, I'm committed to providing reliable, compassionate care. Your pet's safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. With my experience as a veterinary assistant, I'm comfortable caring for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities, including seniors and pets that require medication. During every visit, I'll make sure your pet has fresh food and water, plenty of exercise or playtime, bathroom breaks, and lots of love and attention. I always respect your home, follow your care instructions closely, and provide regular updates with photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for until you return!

Hensley did a wonderful job caring for our two heeler mixes for the weekend. Our younger dog can be very skittish around new people, but Hensley took it all in stride and was able to gain her confidence and even take her for walks. Great communication and photos of the dogs throughout her stay, we highly recommend her as a sitter!

Sarah’s drop-in services were great! I came home to a happy and healthy pup after being gone for 7 days. Sarah met my dog, Halen, and I before the booking time. She sent me pictures of Halen and even texted me “Does Halen know how to run?” It is not easy to ask anyone to RUN with your dog, so this was a pleasant surprise. Sarah was great! I would totally suggest using her services.

About: Growing up, our neighbors on our street all had animals that they would trust my family with taking care of while they were gone. Being older now, I still have the same love of taking care of animals whether it is my own dog and cat or other people’s! I understand how important it is to have someone trustworthy look after such an important part of your family and would love to be that person!! I’m a teacher so I get off work fairly early and have weekends off to help others who need it! Whether that is letting them out, taking them for a walk or feedings! I know animals prefer their own environment and would love to create a safe and trusting experience for them right inside your home to make them as comfortable as possible!

About: I grew up on a farm with lots of animals and my first job was walking my neighbor's dogs! Since I am in college I can't have a dog of my own, but I am ready to make fast friends with yours! I am a student and work nights as a server so I have most mornings and afternoons to spend wherever is needed to care for your pet. I also am good at staying the night and making a quality connection with your pets. Although I cannot house your pets in my apartment, I am comfortable staying at your house and taking them to a local park. I will give your pets detailed and attentive care, as often as possible.

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and have experience caring for pets of different sizes, ages, and personalities. I’m comfortable with walks, feeding, playtime, giving medications if needed, and making sure your dog feels safe and comfortable while you’re away. I’m a patient, attentive, and reliable person who takes the time to learn each dog’s personality and routine so they feel comfortable and cared for. I’m also comfortable caring for puppies who need extra attention and older dogs who may need a calmer approach. I’ll always treat your pet like my own and make sure they get plenty of care, affection, and attention. I’m a full-time college student, so pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine. Outside of classes and studying, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate quality time to walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and giving pets the attention they need. I enjoy staying active and spending time with animals, so caring for pets is something I genuinely look forward to during my week. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to follow their normal routine so their pet feels comfortable and stress-free. I’m attentive to feeding schedules, walks, playtime, bathroom breaks, and any specific care instructions. I always make sure pets get plenty of attention, affection, and supervision while keeping the home clean, safe, and respected. Communication is important to me, so I also provide updates and photos to help owners feel reassured while they’re away.

About: I've had all types of pets growing up. Have even bottle-fed multiple litters of stray kittens! I'm very responsible and reliable, especially when it comes to taking care of someone’s animals! My schedule is typically pretty open! I part-time bartend so on my off days, I am available all day long! And on the days I go into work (depending on which shift I’m working), usually half of my day is wide open, as well! I am able to travel to your home and check on and/or walk/exercise your pet. I am also capable of house-sitting, if needed! We can discuss more specialized services you may be needing for your pet, as well (senior, special needs, etc).

FAQs for House Sitting - The Bottle

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in The Bottle on Rover is $33.3 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 250 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across The Bottle. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred The Bottle walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in The Bottle maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in The Bottle choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in The Bottle. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
