“Emily is an amazing, animal loving person who volunteers her time working with homeless animals at KCK Animal Services. Emily works one on one with the scared babies who have be neglected and abused and she gains their trust and helps them heal. Emily also works on leash manners with the new pups, one being the 100lb mastiff. It’s amazing to watch how with a little training and consistency the pups get better. Emily is great at following directions and also great at being a leader and someone people feel they can go to!”

About: I have a pet of my own, specifically a cat. I have taken care of many of my families dogs and cats when needed. I play soccer at UMKC and am able to keep up with high energy dogs. I am currently going to school at UMKC and will have lots of time in my morning and throughout the day to come by and check on your loved ones! I am not in season at the moment, so I will be available on weekends. I will be respectful to your home by taking my shoes off and being calm and quiet when entering the home. I will lightly call for your pet while cracking the door open to let them know I am not a threat.
12. Melissa L.
“You won’t find a more loving animal sitter than Melissa. She is the epitome of an animal lover. Melissa has shown nothing but warmth and attentiveness to my two dogs and understands exactly what my expectations are for taking care of them the way that I do and applies it whenever she’s around my pups. I highly recommend Melissa if you’re looking for that person who cares deeply for animals and shows that care 100% when she is responsible for them.”

About: Dog-lover remote worker with a big (soon to be fenced) yard and front porch where dogs love to doze and keep watch over the neighborhood. I don't have any dogs of my own, but I love watching yours. I'm responsible, personable, and keep a clean, safe home. I’ve watched dogs for 10 years now. I’ve seen it all, but have found this an enjoyable and rewarding gig. [Interested in house-sitting services? Message me for discount information.] I have learned a lot about how to communicate with and listen to dogs, and be attentive to their needs. I try to make them feel at home and heard in addition to providing for their basic needs, and I also keep a lot of treats and toys around the house to keep them engaged while inside. Their favorite spot is outside, though, and I have a lot of options they love. There is a front porch, back porch, and large side yard for them to lounge in. I keep a long yard spike leash out there so I can keep them within reach and they can enjoy being outside. I live on a street with a lot of trees, birds, and sunshine, and they enjoy just taking it all in. It's fun for me too. Now, I love watching dogs, but boarding dogs with anxiety and behavioral issues who can’t take commands requires all my attention and isn’t worth it. If your dog has behavioral issues you aren’t addressing, I’d suggest another host. If you are interested in training services, please let me know. My yard doesn't have a fence, but I do have a yard spike with a long leash that dogs don't mind if it lets them explore freely. I also have a front porch and back porch that dogs love to sun on and listen to the birds. I like taking dogs for walks to Westwood Park and, if they're up for it, along with me on runs. NOTE: I’m flexible with dropoff and pickup times. I typically only watch one or two dogs at a time, and almost never mix dogs from different households. This is just something I do for a little extra cash and some fun dog time. I'm here to make your dog feel safe and cared for while you travel the world. I take dogs out first thing in the morning, and am home to accompany them throughout the day unless I'm running errands or working at a coffee shop. Dogs have much attention and are taken out regularly for breaks. I have a big yard with no fence but a yard spike and nearly 100ft of leash that dogs can use to explore the yard and nap in the grass. They also like my front and back porches and back staircase, because it lets them see down on the yard from a high perch. There's a lot of room for dogs to roam in the house and find new places to nap. I keep a bowl of water filled in the kitchen and take them out for regular breaks. I give them treats and tell them they're good boys, because I believe in positive affirmation. I work from home, so I am largely available to dogs throughout the day and night. I leave for errands and to work in coffee shops, and for social events, but most of my day is spent around the house and in the company of your pup. I stay near them and use a leash and familiar commands. I have 10” leashes and a long yard leash on a spike for the front porch and yard to let them enjoy nature without running off. A dog running of is the absolute last thing I want to happen, and I am vigilant about keeping them either in the house or restrained (with a long leash).
