About: Who's a good dog? All of them. My step-dog is the love of my life, and I'm the person who talks to animals more than humans at a party. I have experience with: Dogs, cats, fish, rodents, horses, chickens, other birds, reptiles, and more. As a former field biologist, I handled a wide variety of animals and completed Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) training. I'm open to caring for almost any critter. Send me a message so we can discuss what your critter needs. New-ish to Rover. Previously, all my clients were by word of mouth in extreme southern Maine and New Hampshire. We recently moved, and I decided it was time to join Rover. My schedule is variable, so just message me so we can discuss what your critter needs. This summer I have lots of availability. Thank you! I am currently not taking client's pets into my own home. I am open to a variety of conditions for home visits/walks/play dates/check-ins. Just send me a message so we can discuss your set up and what your critter needs.

I've worked in general practice , urgent care , and specialty /emergency . On weekends I'm available to house/pet sit pretty much anywhere within Maine and even possibly NH , of course allowing me time to get there . Try me I'm always up for a road trip extra fees may apply . Weekends for me are Friday after 6 pm through Tuesday morning when I head out to work . During my work week Tuesday morning through Friday . If you have dogs that need to be let out mid day , you need to be within a 10 minute drive from Warren ave in Portland . I can travel back and forth to work but be there at night and morning to take care of your pets needs . Always reach out if this doesn't make sense . About: I've always had a love for animals, and being able to care for them is something I genuinely enjoy. As someone who works in the medical field, I understand the importance of trust, attention to detail, and treating every family member with compassion—including the four-legged ones! For the past two years, I worked for a luxury dog walking and pet sitting company in Washington, D.C., where I cared for dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, personalities, and temperaments. Whether your pet is a playful puppy, a shy rescue, a reactive dog, or a sweet senior who needs a little extra patience, I'm happy to meet them where they are. Every pet is different, and I love taking the time to earn their trust and learn what makes them feel comfortable. I'm also comfortable caring for pets with medical needs. Because of my background in the medical field, I feel confident administering oral medications, eye drops, and ear medications for both dogs and cats. If your pet has a special routine or requires extra attention, you can trust that they'll be in great hands. Communication is incredibly important to me. For each visit or stay, I'll send detailed updates and plenty of photos! My goal is for you to enjoy your time away without worrying. I also have experience walking up to five dogs at once and am comfortable with everything from leash training to energetic pullers and leisurely senior strolls. No matter your pet's age, personality, or needs, I'll treat them with the same love, patience, and care that I would my own. If I'm staying in your home, I'll care for it with the same respect and attention that I would my own. I'm happy to bring in mail and packages, water plants, keep things clean and tidy, and make sure your home feels just as you left it. My goal is for you to return to a happy pet, a well-cared-for home, and complete peace of mind. I'm currently working part-time while completing my remaining prerequisite courses as I apply to Physician Assistant programs, which gives me a flexible schedule to accommodate your pet's needs. Whether your furry one needs regular walks, drop-in visits, overnight care, or a little extra attention, I'm happy to work with you to find a schedule that fits. Clear communication is important to me, and I'll always be upfront about my availability so you can feel confident your pet is receiving the care they deserve. When caring for pets in a client's home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I know that pets are happiest when they can stay in a familiar environment, so I take the time to learn their daily schedule, favorite activities, feeding routine, and any special instructions before you leave. I am certified through Red Cross for Cat and Dog First Aid as well. Whether we're going on walks, playing fetch, enjoying cuddle time on the couch, or simply keeping each other company, I make sure every pet receives plenty of love, attention, exercise, and enrichment based on their individual needs. If your pet requires medications or extra care, I'm comfortable following detailed medical routines and will always keep you updated. I also believe caring for your pet means caring for your home. If I'm house sitting, I'll treat your home with the same respect I would my own by keeping it clean and tidy, bringing in mail and packages, watering plants, taking out the trash if needed, and making sure everything is secure while you're away. After each visit, I'll send detailed updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, comfortable, and in good hands. My goal is for you to come home to a happy pet, a well-cared-for home, and complete peace of mind.
“Martha was fantastic with our cats. They like to hide when new people visit and she was able to get them to come out from their hiding spots on day one. She kept everything tidy, they have a tendency to go wild in the litter box. I felt confident that she would be able to handle any situation that may arise while we were gone. I highly recommend her.”

About: With 30 years of experience, previous dog training, your pup, senior, any age dog is in caring and attentive hands. I interact, play, talk and walk your pet. They have my attention 24/7 full time. I don't split my attention with work from home job so your loved one has literally 24/7 attention! Let's meet or chat and say HI ! I have a small dog of my own, a little whipper snapper Klee Kai who is a retired service dog. But he respects older dogs too. I am a good pet human to those I am caring for. Your dog has safe and spacious areas to play and there are walking/snowmobile trails very close by where I take longer walks 3-4 times a day weather permitting and depending on your dog's energy level . I have had hens, rabbits, dogs, birds, farm animals and plenty of other critters over the years so am very accustomed to caring for animals on a daily basis. I have dog training experience. Your dog must be house trained, spayed or neutered and know basic commands,be non aggressive and leash trained and have topical flea/tick treatment and be up to date on all vaccinations. Unless you direct, I don't put pets in a crate though I do have 2 available if you prefer I use it at night. Your pet is with me 24/7 so has company and supervision. I have a fully fenced area but it's NOT SUITABLE if your dog digs under fences or can jump a 4' fence! I live walking distance to really nice hiking/snow mobile trails. I keep dogs on a leash at all times except in my fenced area where they can stretch and for bathroom and play. I adjust my routine to your pet. This is my full time passion. I'm not a kid filling in time and do this because I absolutely love having your pup! I take your dog on multiple walks every day. If I am taking care of your pet in your home, they get the same attention while I'm at your home, though I do prefer boarding at my home. I require owners permission to transport your dog in my vehicle to the hiking trails since I won't cross any busier roads with any pet on a leash. It's safer to drive to them a few minutes away. Your pets are NEVER EVER left unattended and alone in my vehicle. Dogs must come clean (no bad or strong smells), food dishes, adequate food for the time they are with me, a favorite toy (though I have a full box of clean toys) and vet info in advance. PLEASE NOTE, DOGGY DAY CARE is any 8 hour period until 5:30 PM daily. Prefer 8:30 AM arrival but earlier is definitely possible too. After 8 hrs, it's an additional $10 hr. This site doesn't let me customize schedules with time frames. This is full time for me. Pick up/drop off is between 8:30AM - 5:30 PM but can be earlier or later with advance notice. Extended hours are available with prior notice and additional fee of $15 hr. Doggie day care is between 8:30AM- 5:30 PM (8 hrs per session between those hours. Day care is no more than 8 hrs for the flat daily rate. Overnight rates are 24 hrs and $15 hr will be added after 24 hrs I have a fenced yard which pets are free to be in unleashed. My front deck is gated so pets can be outside under cover. Back deck is also enclosed into the pet area and has a roof.

“Nicolette was prompt and engaged with our baby Cash during their visit. My wife and I were pleased by her updates and the way she treated Cash. Will definitely use again.”

About: Pets have always been a big part of my life, gaining responsibility with them as I grew up. I have two family dogs currently: a 14-year-old medium-sized rescue mutt and a 7-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog that I love and cherish! I also have one cat. I have helped in caring for and training them for quite a few years. I am used to following feeding schedules and I love a good dog walk. I have basic training skills and also have experience dealing with minor behavioral issues. I also have helped care for my older siblings' dogs (both of them have sweet Golden Retrievers) and my aunt's two labs. I love all of these dogs (and my cat) and I would love yours too! I am currently self-employed, so I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule. Occasionally I work weekends and would be away, but I will update my Rover availability as that comes about. I am open to stays of any length because of my current schedule! I am not able to offer stays in my own home, but I am available to stay at your home and care for your dogs there. I have reliable transportation so I can commute to and from your home as needed. I will keep your pets company in a space that is familiar and comfortable to them.
“We’d give 10 stars if we could! Stacy was so professional, quick to respond to our inquiries (this was our first experience with Rover), communicative while we were away, and most importantly so attentive to our old man’s needs and well-being. She went the extra mile in keeping his room “tidy” as well. We feel lucky to have found her!”

About: I’m Cody! I grew up with 3 dogs, and I worked at a dog daycare for over a year. I’ve done on and off pet-sitting and walking through craigslist and friends over the years as well. I have 2 cats and a rabbit at home, so I’m good with all different types of animals. I can do pet sitting, check ins, and walks. My weekends are completely open! Thank you for considering me to hang out with your pets and I hope to hear from you soon! Cody
“Eliot did an exceptional job with Nala - calming her nerves and making her feel comfortable! Nala was apprehensive at first by Eliot did a wonderful job of using her experience to take care of her. She also did a wonderful job of communicating and sending pictures — I definitely recommend and use her again !”

About: Trustworthy and caring pet sitter dedicated to providing your pets with love, attention, and personalized care while you’re away. Whether it’s playtime, walks, or cuddle sessions, I treat your pets like family! I have been petsitting for quite sometime. I have the most experience with dogs, cats and a few other animals. I am a stay at home mom, so I have a good amount of flexibility. I prefer not to do weekends, but open to discussion. I have a back yard for walking around as well as a dog line. We are off a less busy road I can walk with your pets.

“Brianna did a great job taking care of my Boston terrier mix, Gunnar. He's a new dog to me although he's 7 years old, so I shared with her what I know about him, and they got along famously. She was very responsive and communicated well from the first contact, to setting up the meet and greet, to the day she came for two drop in visits while I was gone for a very long day. She took some very sweet photos of Gunnar and told me all about their activities, so I knew he was having as good a day as he could have, being alone except for her two visits. She gave him his treats and took him for walks, and it looks like they had a good time. He was happy when I got home and hadn't touched a thing in the house. I would highly recommend Brianna for your pet!”

“Jennifer was great with my kitties as always, and was so communicative & helpful when my plans were adjusted because of a snowstorm! Knowing she was there for the cats was a big relief & let me focus on the travel-related stress without worrying about them :)”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
