Boarded my dog for one week, she was happy and well cared for. There were several other small dogs there as well- they all seemed to socialize and get along.

About: My son wants to walk your dog! He’s taken care of dogs and cats, is great for drop ins to give food, water, and play. He is 14 yo with lots of experience taking care of pets while their family is away, always with parental oversight/assistance on stand by if needed! Daily walks and drop ins for potty breaks, filling up food and water, or just some much needed play time for the pups. Friend to all dogs. Can drop in for cats if needed. Able to pick up your pup and take for a leashed walk to get some exercise, pick up after them and top off water and/or add food when requested. Also love to get some play time in out back if available to get the zoomies out!

David was awesome and took excellent care of my pup while we were traveling. She had loads of play time, yummy healthy snacks and plenty of cuddles. I would highly recommend David to anyone looking for above and beyond care, loads of knowledge on dogs and a very proactive and professional approach to providing excellent care.

Scout spent her first overnight with Richard and Karen . I found them to be kind and caring , texting me and sending me pictures . I felt Scout was safe and warmed up to them quickly . Scout is a sensitive dog and very attached to her family and home . It’s not easy for us to leave her anywhere but I feel comfortable leaving her with Richard and Karen for a 9 day trip we have coming up.

My dog didn’t want to come home after staying with Crystal and has pouted since I brought him home. He clearly had a blast. I read the positive reviews when booking, and I’m glad I listened to everyone. Highlights- great communication, loved my dog as her own, gave me complete peace of mind while I traveled. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to trust to watch my best friend.

Alexis was fabulous when we boarded our two dogs with her for four nights! She was communicative and extremely flexible when we had to change our drop off time. Our dogs seem happy and healthy. They were both really tired when we got them to our hotel so I think they must've played a lot. Highly recommend!

We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Even with all the rain that week, Jomini and her family took wonderful care of our Bella, and made sure she was happy and well cared for. She also sent us pictures throughout the week, which meant so much because we missed Bella so much. We had complete peace of mind knowing Bella was in such caring hands. Thank you for taking such great care of our girl!

About: Hello, My name is Candice. I am a fur Momma to two Dogs. Princess Lola is a 7 year old Chocolate Labrador who is my gentle giant. She enjoys long walks with her dog friends and playing with her human brothers and sisters. Scrappy is a 14 year old Westie/ Bischon Frise mix who enjoys snuggles from his family and his bed. He is blind but navigates and acts like he can see. I did have a third fur baby that crossed the rainbow bridge last year as he lost his fight with cancer. My Brodie was a 13 year old Long Haired Chihuahua/ Papillon mix and in his younger years enjoyed playing nose soccer with his family. In his senior life he enjoyed snuggling up with his brother Scrappy most. My husband Craig and I are raising our 4 children ages 4-11. They have lived their entire lives with dogs. We are a family of dog lovers and cant wait to meet your fur babies. I have experience in caring for dogs ages ranging from puppy to senior. I also have experience administering oral medication. I have been a stay at home mother and homemaker for the past 11 years which allows me to have a very flexible schedule to care for your dog. I offer a variety of services. Outdoor dog walking from little to no incline for older dogs or dogs with walking difficulties to uphill or hiking for more active and energetic dogs. I can provide care in my home with my family or care in your home for play time, feedings, or to give medicine.

Michael watched my dog, Tofu, for a week while we were away, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He was super responsive from start to finish, sent tons of photos and updates, and made me feel completely at ease — which is no small feat, because leaving my dog with anyone is usually tough for me. Tofu went on plenty of walks, got lots of attention, and clearly had an amazing time. When I came home, he was happy, relaxed, and totally himself — the biggest sign that he was in great hands. I will 100% be booking with him again, and I recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and all-around fantastic dog sitter.

As of September 2026, there are 2,721 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across West Point. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Every sitter on Rover has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.

94% of West Point sitters also include daily walks in the neighborhood during dog boarding stays. You can also request photo and message updates throughout the stay so you can see which West Point landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their West Point home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your West Point.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your West Point sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
