“Becky was so great with our senior dog and three overly friendly kitties while we were on vacation. She didn’t hesitate to reach out with questions and sent tons of updates and pictures. Our critters were so happy and well cared for. She gave us peace of mind and we are so grateful to have found her! Thank you a million times, Becky!”

“Andy was great! She stayed at our house for a week and even cleaned and organized while she was there. Our dogs were very happy and didn’t seem to notice we were even gone. 10/10 would recommend.”

About: I've taken care or have owned dogs my entire life. Last August, we lost our best friend, Nala, too soon. She was a German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) and at the age of 5 was impacted by a very rare auto-immune disease especially for her breed. This was a tragic loss for my family and I and at this moment owning/adopting another dog would be hard. We don't want to ever experience that kind of pain. Having said that, we have so much love for animals and would be grateful to take care of your dog/cat as one of our own. Would prefer to pet sit in your home as we have 3 cats. However, boarding at our home is an option. It's mostly just my fiance Ashley and I living in the home as our adult boys are away at college. Please consider us for all of you pat care needs. Thank you! Working full-time but have a hybrid schedule. In the office 3 days a week but can be flexible. Available weekends and holidays for overnight boarding. I do not have a fenced in yard but there is a park nearby. I also walk/run several miles a day. We live in a 3-level condo with plenty of room for zoomies.
“Best dog sitter ever! So understanding, engaging, and positive. We’re super appreciative for Lauren going above and beyond for our puppy and would love to have her sit for the pup again as she loved lauren!!”

“Sydney was fantastic! This was our first time using an in-home Rover sitter for our puppy, Theo, and she gave us complete peace of mind while we were away for six nights. She sent regular updates and photos, took great care of Theo and our home, and was very responsive throughout the stay. Our flight home was delayed, and she was kind enough to stay an extra couple of hours, which took a lot of stress off our family. We came home to a happy puppy and a house that was just as we left it. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Sydney again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring house sitter.”

About: I grew up in a family that loved animals and I've had pets my entire life. I know how hard it is to work long hours or be away from home without them. I have spent the last 18 years working with dogs and cats. I have managed a doggie daycare and boarding facility and worked for a humane society as a community outreach manager and volunteer coordinator. Besides loving on all the pets, I spent my time there teaching animal safety to children and providing basic animal care and dog handling lessons to volunteers. I have fostered puppies and helped feed and care for cats and dogs awaiting adoption. I am pet CPR and first aid certified. I helped socialize shelter dogs by taking them out for walks, car rides, pup cups and patio time at Starbucks. I have always been the friend you call when you need a pet sitter or help with something pet related. I have two dogs and two cats of my own and they bring so much joy to my life! I love being in the company of pets and would love to spend time with yours. I work full-time Monday - Friday and have a hybrid work schedule. I work from home two days per week which gives me more flexibility to care for your pets. I am available before and after work and mid-day during the week and have more availability on the weekends. I have a lot of experience caring for my own pets, foster dogs, and pet sitting for family and friends. My own dogs do best with having a daily routine, so I tend to keep the same schedule for feeding, medication, walks and bedtime. I will do the same for your pets. My goal is to always make sure people feel good about leaving their pets in my care.
“Amazing experience with Tiffany! She literally saved our week. At the last minute our regular dog sitter was unable to come, so I reached out to Tiffany (based on her previous great reviews). I think she heard the panic in my voice and reassured me that she could help out! She stopped in later that evening for a meet and greet. Totally put my mind at ease. Her visit included mother’s day and she rearranged her time with her family to be able to accomodate us! House looked great when we came home and Lucy very happy. Would highly recommend Tiffany!🐾”

“Sandy was wonderful taking care of our senior dog and puppy. She made sure to give updates on the dogs and also sent pictures. I knew they were in good hands with Sandy. Will definitely be using Sandy in the future.”

About: With over four years of experience in house and pet sitting, I’ve learned that great care comes down to consistency, attention, and trust. I focus on maintaining each pet’s normal routine—whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, or just giving them the right kind of attention they’re used to—so they feel comfortable while you’re away. I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and respectful of your space, and I make it a point to communicate clearly so you always know how things are going. I approach every stay with the mindset that I’m not just watching over things—I’m making sure your home and pets are genuinely cared for. Right now, I'm working from home and occasionally have to do a few hours at a job site. If that happens I am aware of it and able to let you know via text, or a call. A typical day starts by following your pet’s usual routine—morning feedings, fresh water, and a quick check-in to see how they’re doing. For dogs, that usually means getting outside for a walk, some playtime, and a chance to burn off energy. For cats, it’s more about keeping things calm and familiar—maybe some play if they’re interested, or just quiet company. Throughout the day, I keep things consistent, give them attention on their terms, and make sure everything stays clean and comfortable. Evenings wind down with dinner, another walk for dogs, and some relaxed time so they can settle in for the night. I also send regular updates and photos so you can see how they’re doing and feel connected while you’re away—it’s all about keeping things normal, easy, and stress-free for both you and your pet.
“Sydney did an amazing job taking care of our persnickety little pittie while we were out of town. She was especially mindful of the heat and our dog’s history of heat-related issues. We came home to a happy dog and an orderly house and we are so appreciative of the communication, care and photos we got from her along the way!”

“Brittany is clearly an expert when it comes to pet sitting. She took such great care of my dog Eddie, was quick to respond, and even took the time to clean the place before she left! It brought me such peace of mind to know Eddie was in such good hands!”

“Marlaina is the sweetest and most loving pet sitter. She cares so much about the animals she takes care of and treats them like they are her own. I have a special needs kitty that is on daily medication. Not only did she ensure that he received the meds he needed, but because we have not left him since he became a member of our family, she spent every night at our house while we were away to make sure that he was never in distress. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, loving, kind and generous care giver for your pets, you will be crazy if you don't pick Marlaina. To say that she is amazing is an understatement. We love and trust her and, if given the chance, you will too!”

About: I really like to meet animals where they are. If they are high energy and love to play then that is what we will be doing. If they are a lounge on the couch kind of dog then I will lay with them. I currently have one dog and I have been able to teach him many tricks like roll and high five! I also have 3 cats who keep me busy but in a good way! I have dog sat before many times but I am excited to meet new animals on Rover. I work full time on the weekdays from 7:45-4. I would also be able to be at your home for a few minutes during my lunch break depending on the location. I have full availability Friday night - Sunday night I always make sure that I am following their routine and doing things the way that you would do them! I will ask any questions if I have them to make sure I am doing everything right. The animals would never be able to escape as I am very careful with doors and I always wrap leashed around my wrist for a second layer of protection
“Isabella was amazing! She went above and beyond with our pets. I enjoyed receiving daily updates and pictures. When I got home, the house was clean, the animals were very happy and very well taken care of. Isabella definitely went the extra mile. I absolutely recommend her.!!”

About: I've taken care of young and old dogs. I've watched family pets for years and have spent a lot of care on specialized research around animals to ensure I give them the best care I can. I love to play with them, never get bored of watching them and ass I started I pay a lot of attention to detail. I can pick up on all those little details in dogs that many sitters will miss. You could not leave your dog with a safer host. I have a very flexible and open schedule right now. I am willing to work whenever and can plan around caring for your pet. It will be my number one priority. I have an apartment that is free of pets right now so I have the space give your pet some extra room without disruption while they stay with me
“The bestest!!!!! If you want someone to watch your cats and feel secure they’re being well taken care of, get Hanna!! She is so caring and makes the extra effort to make our babies feel comfortable and content. One of our kitties is very shy and Hanna did a great job of respecting her space but also making sure she’s fed/doing well. The other kitty that loves attention, Hanna made sure to give it to him! In addition, she made sure the water fountain was filled and the litter box clean! We are so appreciative of her and will definitely work with her again and recommend her care!!!”

“Kari was great with our 2 Great Danes! We were gone over 4th of July and they were so scared of the fireworks, Kari did a great job of consoling them and trying her best to make them feel better. The extra stress really affected our older dog and she had plenty of extra messes to deal with but kept us updated the whole time. She even threw our bedding in the wash before she left. Would book again and highly recommend!”
“Jaden watched our 2 dogs this week, one of which is 1 year old with endless energy. He did an excellent job of taking care of our girls, even singing to and celebrating our older girls 7th birthday. Would definitely recommend.”

“Allyson did an amazing job taking care of Moo Moo for us while we were away. I gave her a lot of advanced warning about Moo Moo not being friendly with other dogs and she followed the proper protocol necessary in order to keep Moo Moo safe. Allyson also left the house in the same condition we left it in. We would definitely book with her again in the future.”

Taylor was a last minute lifesaver because I accidentally booked the wrong dates with our regular in home dog sitter. Outside of this, Taylor did an awesome job with our three rambunctious dogs, sent updates with pictures and even vacuumed before she left. We can’t wait to rebook with Taylor!

Elizabeth was extremely reliable and concerned for our dog’s welfare. She followed her medication regimen as closely as Wrigley made possible, and sought clarification when necessary. She was friendly and pleasant to work with. We would definitely recommend her and book her again.

Christie took good care of our two pups while we were out of town celebrating Thanksgiving with our family. One of our dogs is suffering from a medical condition and Christie administered scheduled medication and physically assisted our little guy up and down the stairs. Christie sent pictures each day and the doggies were well taken care of.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 635 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wertzville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wertzville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wertzville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wertzville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wertzville. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
