“We cannot say enough amazing things about Sydney and her time watching our 2 fluffy family members! She was attentive and went above and beyond to communicate daily with us! We will make sure to book with her again! :)”

“Sydney was great with my older dog. My pup was having health issues and she was thoughtful and communicative. She also left my home I. Excellent condition. I will certainly be calling her again!”

“The bestest!!!!! If you want someone to watch your cats and feel secure they’re being well taken care of, get Hanna!! She is so caring and makes the extra effort to make our babies feel comfortable and content. One of our kitties is very shy and Hanna did a great job of respecting her space but also making sure she’s fed/doing well. The other kitty that loves attention, Hanna made sure to give it to him! In addition, she made sure the water fountain was filled and the litter box clean! We are so appreciative of her and will definitely work with her again and recommend her care!!!”

“Brittany is clearly an expert when it comes to pet sitting. She took such great care of my dog Eddie, was quick to respond, and even took the time to clean the place before she left! It brought me such peace of mind to know Eddie was in such good hands!”

“Onn is amazing, very sweet and thoughtful with my two littles. She took great care of them and I’m pretty sure the house is cleaner than I left it! Wonderful sitter for us! Gold star service for sure!”

“Becky was so great with our senior dog and three overly friendly kitties while we were on vacation. She didn’t hesitate to reach out with questions and sent tons of updates and pictures. Our critters were so happy and well cared for. She gave us peace of mind and we are so grateful to have found her! Thank you a million times, Becky!”

“I had to go out of town unexpectedly and had never used a pet sitter before. Jaden responded almost immediately after I messaged on Tuesday, came for a meet and greet on Wednesday, and was sitting with my dog and cats on Thursday. My dog is very suspicious of everything, and not having used a pet sitter before, I was concerned on how she would react. Jaden was very patient with her. He also kept me updated with pictures and messages on how things were progressing, which made me feel much better. I couldn’t be more pleased with how he cared for my pets and would definitely contact him. Thanks Jaden!”

“Bayleigh did a great job watching my furry babies. She communicated regularly and sent pictures. I appreciate seeing pics while I am away as I miss my pets, so her pics helped ease my mind. Her calm demeanor helped encourage my shy cat to come out and socialize. That says a lot about Bayleigh. :-) We all look forward to using Bayleigh again in the future.”

“Lauren was so kind and went up to our dogs right away to greet them and get to know them. She sent us photos and updates while we were away. We would definitely use her again!”

About: I’ve enjoyed taking care of pets and house sitting since 1998. I’ve had multiple pets at one time including cats, dogs, fish, and guinea pigs. I work remotely, with flexible hours. My down time activities include reading, which makes keeping an eye on furry family members easy and fun. I enjoy getting fresh air and walking which most dogs usually enjoy as well. I can work from most anywhere, so there’s no problem fitting right in to your pets familiar environment. I do need a desk to work from and somewhere to sleep if overnight care is requested.
“Marlaina took care of our diabetic pup while we were away and did such a great job! She was communicative and took such good care of our girl. We never had to worry and were able to enjoy our vacation. It's wonderful to be able to have so much trust in someone to care for our loved ones.”

“Kayla (and family) were amazing. As hard as it was to leave my fur babies for the first time I was assured through pics, texts and videos that they were being loved as part of the family. When plans changed due to flights Kayla was so accommodating even at the very last minute. Look forward to working with her (and family) again soon. Sapo now has a fur sister Darla xoxoxo”

“Andy was great! She stayed at our house for a week and even cleaned and organized while she was there. Our dogs were very happy and didn’t seem to notice we were even gone. 10/10 would recommend.”

About: I’ve taken care of animals for years. Whether it was dogs of my own to house sitting with pets inside. I also work at Greenlin Pet Resorts and just want the best for you furry pet. I am currently in college however I do not have a job so I have plenty of availability, especially on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. However, I am willing to make it work anytime in my schedule. Although I don’t have a fenced in yard, there is a dog park very nearby for your pup and mine to enjoy. I will treat them as if they are my own.
“Hannah was great with Jax, our 7 year old greyhound. She took great care as she sat with him at our home for two nights. Already looking to book for for a week for our family vacation next month!”

“Kaylene Is awesome she played with Eli, took on walks, water pkants and took great care of our house. Eli looked so happy in the pictures she sent. We will definitely use her again and recommend her.”

Becky was so great with our senior dog and three overly friendly kitties while we were on vacation. She didn’t hesitate to reach out with questions and sent tons of updates and pictures. Our critters were so happy and well cared for. She gave us peace of mind and we are so grateful to have found her! Thank you a million times, Becky!

Excellent house / pet sitter. My dogs absolutely adored her. We arranged a meet & greet a couple weeks before, and answered each other's questions . A couple days before the appointment Lauren contacted me to confirm everything; very professional! She kept sending me updates and pics, and even kept me informed the couple times she was stepping out for dinner. I will absolutely book her again!
We had a great experience with Haley. Communication was excellent from start to finish — she responded quickly and was always easy to get ahold of if we needed anything. She kept us updated with pictures while we were away, which gave us so much peace of mind. Most importantly, our pets were clearly well cared for and in great hands. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!

Allyson did an amazing job taking care of Moo Moo for us while we were away. I gave her a lot of advanced warning about Moo Moo not being friendly with other dogs and she followed the proper protocol necessary in order to keep Moo Moo safe. Allyson also left the house in the same condition we left it in. We would definitely book with her again in the future.

Taylor was a last minute lifesaver because I accidentally booked the wrong dates with our regular in home dog sitter. Outside of this, Taylor did an awesome job with our three rambunctious dogs, sent updates with pictures and even vacuumed before she left. We can’t wait to rebook with Taylor!

Lila was great! She stayed at our house with our 3 dogs for about a week while we were away. The dogs were well taken care of. We have an elderly dog with mobility issues and Lila was able to help her get up. She left the house very tidy and even offered to do drop in visits after our flight was unexpectedly cancelled. Will use again!

How is this instead? This was our first time using the Rover app and we were so grateful to find Karen!! She was extremely responsive during for our week away from our dogs. Returning home our flight was delayed 3 times for being back and she was very supportive and understanding in taking care of the dogs. Our kiddos were very well taken care of and hit it off with Karen right away. Karen is very knowledgeable and trustworthy in taking care of the dogs in our home. We highly recommend Karen and she will be our go to next time we need any kind of dog services!!!

Izzy was extremely flexible with our trip. We had a couple changes and she was able to accommodate them. She communicated well with us while we were gone by sending us updates and pictures. It was nice to know our 2 dogs and 2 cats were in great hands while we were gone. I would definitely recommend.

Emina and Jackson were amazing! They sent me so many pictures throughout my trip. My dogs take a little while to warm up to people and they were very patient and came to meet them before so the dogs could get to know them. I will definitely use them again in the future!

Olivia was wonderful to work with. She met with us before hand to meet our fur babies and get the lay of the land. Our house, dogs, and cats were in wonderful shape and happy as can be when we returned. She was happy to share pictures throughout our absence. We highly recommend Olivia.

Xavier was absolutely amazing with my dog Bear! From the very first message, he was kind, communicative, and genuinely excited to take care of him. He took the time to read all of Bear’s care instructions (which were very detailed!) and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. Throughout the day, Xavier sent me updates and photos, which helped me relax knowing Bear was happy and comfortable. Bear can be a bit reactive on walks and had just started antibiotics the day before, but Xavier handled everything with such patience and care. He followed all of Bear’s routines perfectly, kept him company, and even snuggled with him the way Bear likes. It’s so clear how much Xavier loves animals and wants to do right by them. I would 100% recommend Xavier to anyone looking for a trustworthy, thoughtful, and caring dog sitter. We’d love to have him watch Bear again!

Brianna is a very caring, understanding, and experienced dog person and was a fantastic housesitter/caregiver to our two furbabies. One is a senior with failing eyesight and who is taking some medications, and she was very conscientious to all of his needs. The other is much younger with more energy, and Brianna spent lots of time cuddling and playing her favorite games with her. She made sure they were well fed, followed their routines and accommodated their individual habits around the clock, really treating them like her own. She sent many updates and photos, and I had complete confidence and trust that our pups were safe and having a great time with someone who cared for them like family.
Megan was fabulous! She is a very sweetie young woman who definitely loves your dogs while you are away! She was very attentive to our dogs and what we need her to do! She communicated with us the whole time we were gone to let us know how things were going back home! She sent pictures and a video! We will definitely connect her again to see if she’s available to watch out dogs.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Sporting Hill on Rover is $39.96 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of June 2026, there are 766 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sporting Hill. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sporting Hill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sporting Hill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sporting Hill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sporting Hill. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
