Becky has done so nicely with Bhakti! He’s timid around new people and she agreed to visit him weekly a few times before house sitting. Becky followed the guidelines suggested for being a new person for my dog. During her housesitting stay, she sent me regular updates which included pictures. I could see that Bhakti became more relaxed as time went by. Becky grew up with animals and that showed in her care and interactions with my dog. She also did a great job with the house part of the service. Becky was very respectful of my space. I have scheduled more drop-in visits with her already for Bhakti and recommend her highly.

Allyson did an amazing job taking care of Moo Moo for us while we were away. I gave her a lot of advanced warning about Moo Moo not being friendly with other dogs and she followed the proper protocol necessary in order to keep Moo Moo safe. Allyson also left the house in the same condition we left it in. We would definitely book with her again in the future.

About: I have had dogs all throughout my childhood, and whether it’s small pups or big fluffy ones, I love them all! I also love the outdoors and being active. I am currently a student and I have a lot of free time with only one job working Saturday evenings. I commonly go to the gym in the late morning but I am available mostly every day! I offer pet sitting at your own home, along with stop ins and dog walking, keeping your pet cared for and comfortable! I will carefully follow provided instructions for your pets needs.

Amazing experience with Tiffany! She literally saved our week. At the last minute our regular dog sitter was unable to come, so I reached out to Tiffany (based on her previous great reviews). I think she heard the panic in my voice and reassured me that she could help out! She stopped in later that evening for a meet and greet. Totally put my mind at ease. Her visit included mother’s day and she rearranged her time with her family to be able to accomodate us! House looked great when we came home and Lucy very happy. Would highly recommend Tiffany!🐾

About: I love caring for pets and making sure they feel safe, happy, and comfortable while their owners are away. I have experience with both dogs and cats and can help with feeding, walks, playtime, and keeping up with their daily routines! I treat every pet like they’re my own and always provide dependable, loving care to make their time as special and fun as possible 😊 I work a full-time job Monday through Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm, so weekday early mornings and/or evenings, and then anytime on the weekends I am most available! I have two rescue dogs of my own—Clover, a senior girl, and Mozzie, a young pup—who are the best of friends. They’ve helped each other grow, and caring for them has strengthened my love for animals. They enjoy plenty of playtime, positive reinforcement, and cuddles every day, and I provide the same loving care to every pet I look after.

Kayla is the best dog sitter I’ve ever had! We had just moved into the area, so I didn’t know anyone who could watch my baby (dog), Charlie. I was a little nervous originally to leave him with someone new. However, we met Kayla prior to the dog sitting and really liked her so felt very comfortable with having Kayla watch Charlie. She did such a fantastic job- I couldn’t have asked for anyone better. She was able to stay with Charlie for as long as we needed, gave me frequent updates (and pictures/videos 😍), did everything that I had suggested but didn’t necessarily expect to do in one day-play games with him, walk him, and give him treats. She also followed all of my directions which I really appreciate. Kayla gave my guy so much love and attention, I didn’t even feel guilty for leaving him. He was in great hands! Kayla was the perfect sitter for us and I will be for sure requesting her again for any other needs in the future.

About: I care for every pet as if they were my own while respecting their routine and the comfort of staying in their own home. I have experience working at a dog daycare, so I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and energy levels, as well as recognizing their individual needs and behaviors. Pet care is something I genuinely enjoy and make time for in my schedule. I work around my commitments to provide dependable care and make sure every pet gets the attention, exercise, and companionship they need. Whether it’s morning, afternoon, evening, or overnight care, I do my best to accommodate each family’s needs. I believe consistency is important, so I strive to keep pets on their normal routines to help them feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow all care instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, playtime, medications if needed, and any other routines that help your pet feel comfortable. I keep your home clean and treat it with the same respect I would my own. I’ll also send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away. My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible for both you and your pet.

Would not hesitate to have Chelsea stay with Loki and Callie again! Thanks for EVERYTHING!

Lauren was amazing! She stayed over at my house for 4 days and not only took wonderful care of my dog and cats, but also left the house in perfect condition. I was very nervous because my dog requires insulin twice a day, but Lauren was absolutely able to handle giving him his shots. She also sent text updates and pictures, which always made me smile. I 100% recommend her as a sitter, and I will definitely be booking her in the future! ☺️

Elizabeth was great! Our dogs, cats, and fish tank were taken care of exceptionally. She last minute was able to administer an ear cream to one of our dogs every day while we were gone. She also helped with watering the outdoor garden. The house was in perfect shape when we came home after a week+, and the pets were perfectly happy!

An awesome young lady!!! Based upon the “smile “ on Rocky’s mug …I’d say he’s got a another besteee! I believe our home is cleaner than when we left! Brianna is a very caring, understanding, and experienced dog person and was a fantastic housesitter/caregiver to our two furbabies. One is a senior with failing eyesight and who is taking some medications, and she was very conscientious to all of his needs. The other is much younger with more energy, and Brianna spent lots of time cuddling and playing her favorite games with her. She made sure they were well fed, followed their routines and accommodated their individual habits around the clock, really treating them like her own. She sent many updates and photos, and I had complete confidence and trust that our pups were safe and having a great time with someone who cared for them like family.

FAQs for House Sitting - Good Hope

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Good Hope on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 681 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Good Hope. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Good Hope walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Good Hope maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Good Hope choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Good Hope. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
