“I felt so confident leaving Sophia our Aussie with Jaylin and Charles today. They are knowledgeable and competent and made me feel at ease knowing that my dog was in good hands and that Jaylin & Charles would be able to resolve any issue that might come up. My dog was calm and happy when we brought her home and she seemed to be very comfortable with the care she received. My dog usually barks at anyone she hasn’t met before but she didn’t even bark at Jaylin at all!”

About: The son and grandson of veterinarians, I've spent my whole life around animals of all kinds, and I would love the chance to take care of your dog! I grew up with dogs, cats, and horses as pets, and while working for my dad I helped take care of pet boarders at his hospital for many years and assisted him and other vets while providing medical care. I also had a spunky Jack Russell for 17 years (!), and to tell the truth, I created this account mostly for the chance to spend time with some doggy friends because I miss that companionship very much, but I'm also still not ready for another one myself. You will be doing me a favor by letting me hang out with your dog! I obviously have experience with elder dog care, and giving medication, but I also have experience with dogs of all different types and energy levels. I work from home most of the week. I only have to leave the house for work on Tuesday and Thursday. My partner, Sofia, works from home full time, however, and is a pet lover like me, so your dog will never be without companionship, and we can accommodate any pet's needs for walks, bathroom breaks, feeding, and medication. I have a fenced in back yard to let your dog out in for quick bathroom breaks or just to get fresh air, and I live in a great neighborhood for walking. I'm happy to walk your dog as much as you'd like! I'm also close to Unity Park and the Swamp Rabbit trail if your dog needs some more serious play time! Lastly, I have two sweet kitties who are comfortable around dogs in the sense that they will likely ignore your dog, lol. But I don't board cats because they don't like strange kitties.
About: I’ve owned big and small dogs! From a pit bull to a terrier. Took care of my susy girl for 10 years, she was diabetic so i am experienced with medication and injections. I am a student and work full time in the afternoons but I am free every Thursday and Fridays! and Sunday to Wednesday from 11-2pm. I can drop by or dog sit. I have one small friendly terrier who lives inside and is welcoming to all pets. 4 friendly cats. Fenced yard! Furniture friendly to all fur babies
“An absolute sweetheart who took such good care of our boy, like he was her own dog. Casper is tired and fulfilled. Lovely, trustworthy place to leave your pup - we can’t recommend it enough! Thank you so much ❤️ Casper had a blast!”

“Theo was so great with our dog! Right when we dropped him off he was ready to take him on a walk. He is super flexible and really listened to his needs! Would definitely use him again!”

“I was after meeting Erika I felt calm and happy leaving Cachito with her for the day. I feel she did a really good job with him and will use her for sure next time we are visiting Greenville.”

“Katherine took really good care of Ivy! She took her for a walk and played with her in the backyard and gave her lots of love. I also got lots of photos and updates during Ivy’s stay! I will be re-booking with Katherine and would recommend her to anyone :)”

About: I have always loved dogs, and growing up tried to learn as much as possible from the different breeds and their behaviors to the best training methods and the good and bad dog habits. My main experience is my childhood pets and watching friends animals while they’re away. I don’t have a dog now but my love for animals has driven me to sign up for Rover to hopefully spend some time with dogs and lend a helping hand to some dog owners in the Chicago area. Due to COVID I’m currently working from home full time, but even afterwards my job is fairly flexible so that I would be able to continue Rover as well. Looking forward to learning more about your dog, and how best to take care of them!
“Hannah was great. We needed someone to watch our large, high energy puppy and found Hannah. We wanted our dog to have the chance to play with another dog if possible, so she arranged for our pup to meet her dog prior to the stay. Hannah and Conan (her dog) were both awesome. Hannah clearly has a lot of love for dogs and and her experience handling dogs was evident. She sent us updates and pics throughout the day of Charlie (our boy) playing the yard and with her dog, Conan. Hannah even walked Charlie to help get some of his energy out. We will be using Hannah again!”

“Winnie had a great time with Tiffany and David! They made the day so fun. And all the pictures were wonderful. I would not hesitate to have them watch her again and highly recommend their care!”

About: I have an 11 year old rescued and very mellow plott hound dog. I have been watching friends dogs for over 5 years and have no issues with any type of dog in my past experiences. I work from home so I am able to take your dog to the bathroom and walks to unity park throughout the day. Your dog will be in good hands and it will be an enjoyable day for them I work from home and will have a relative easy way to drop off your pet. Your pet will go on at least 2 walks per day and go outside to the bathroom at least 3-4 times a day and more if needed. I have one dog and we will be in an apartment by ourselves. Have plenty of room for 1-2 additional dogs. I can communicate at mostly anytime of the day if any issues arise. Your pet will have a safe space inside and I do have an enclosed balcony if they would like to sunbathe.
About: I have been dog setting for the past 23 years. It all started when I watched my boss' 3 chihuahuas when I was about 17 and then I just have had many request ever since. I have had the privilege of caring for many beloved pups. Throughout my pet-sitting days, I have provided a loving and safe environment for dogs of all shapes and sizes. My two personal dogs were an integral part of my life for 12 wonderful years. They both passed in the Summer of 2020. It took me awhile to get another dog, but I did finally get our Elvis (a bloodhound) in October 2022. He is almost 5 years old with a giant heart! He loves to have a fur-friend over and gets along with any age pup. I have a son who is 10 years old and absolutely loves helping out with the dogs. My son has learned so much about dogs and loves having them around as well. I also prioritize the emotional well-being of the dogs I sit for. I recognize the profound impact that loss and change can have on a dog’s mental health, and I strive to create a nurturing environment where they feel safe and supported. Through patience, empathy, and a deep understanding of canine behavior, I work to alleviate any anxiety or stress that may arise during their time with me. Above all, I approach dog sitting as a privilege and a responsibility. I hold myself to the highest standards of professionalism and compassion, ensuring that each dog receives the love and attention they deserve. My goal is to provide a pawsitive and enriching experience for both the dogs and their owners, fostering a sense of peace of mind for all parties involved. I am a stay at home dog-mom! Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Welcome
We were so glad to meet Jaylin and Charlie! We had been looking for a safe, dog-centric home care for Lucy, our anxious Great Dane-great Pyrenees mix for a while on-again/off-again and feel like we struck gold. Jaylin and Charlie are true dog people letting Lucy warm up in her time and really picking up and paying attention to her cues. They have made quality dog care their business and their dedication and passion shows in how they’ve set up their space. We’ll definitely use Charlie and Jaylin again!

My husband and I made the amazing decision to bring two puppies into our house at once. They are a lot and require attention non-stop. We booked Jana to watch them for the day, terrified she’d get overwhelmed, but she was a pro. They warmed up to her very quickly and she is very knowledgeable when it comes to a dog’s behavior and needs. We plan on booking her again for sitting during our upcoming vacation.

Meghan was an absolute dream watching my dog Bodhi! She went above and beyond to make sure he was happy, comfortable, and well-cared for. From walks to plenty of playtime, Meghan kept Bodhi’s tail wagging the whole time. She sent regular updates with photos, which gave me such peace of mind while I was away. Her love for animals is so evident, and Bodhi was thrilled to spend time with her and her dog, Mr. Buttons. I’d trust Meghan with Bodhi anytime and can’t recommend her enough for her reliable, caring, and attentive pet-sitting!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Welcome commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
