“Yajaira does a wonderful job taking care of our dogs. She is prompt, responsive, and very responsible. The dogs clearly love her, and she treats them with care and patience. We had a change of plans, and she was totally flexible with our change. We will definitely use her again!”

About: I’ve had a dog my entire life living at home (both small and large dogs). Since moving out on my own I’ve had my own cat (now 2☺️). I’ve often pet-sat and am very comfortable with both kinds of fluffy pets. I am currently a part-time graduate student and have a very flexible schedule. I’m generally free most days as I make my own studying schedule. And would love to add in time with your pet! I cannot care for pets in my own home. I am willing to care for pets in a client’s home. I’m a responsible apt owner myself and have used rover to have a sitter check-in with my cats and know the importance of being assured your pets are being cared for and the safety of your home is also in good hands.
“We have a sweet pup and a skittish one and Merry Anne is very good with both. Understanding of their differences and a good communicator. Very professional and positive.”

“Sara has been a charm to work with, dependable and very communicative about status of the stay while she watched our home and fur-baby. Truth be told he’s 80 pounds and can be a handful! Would definitely recommend.”

“We had a great experience with Jen! She took the time to meet with us beforehand to make sure it was a good fit, which we really appreciated, especially since our booking was a bit last minute. She was kind and thoughtful, and made sure to stick to Roo’s usual routine and not leave her longer than she’s used to. We also loved getting updates and photos while we were away.”

“Brooklyn was amazing! She took incredible care of my two border collies and cat. I loved that she kept me updated on their walks, dinner times, and sent some photo updates. Most people never see our cat, but she warmed up to Brooklyn quickly. I'll definitely book with her again!”

“Nancy was wonderful. She stayed at my house with my little fur babies for a week while I was out of town. Everything went great and my little Ginger girl loved her. Thank you Nancy!”

“Yazmin did a wonderful job with all of our fur children. The house was kept up and was Fantastic being able to keep the in their own place with Yazmin keeping an eye on them. Great commutation . Thank you”

“Novavilla was great! We were so happy to be able to leave our 2 dogs and kitty safe at home while we visited family out of state. Nova is a great communicator and very punctual. She sent us daily updates with photos and always was open to ideas or tips to care for the pets. She spent a lot of time home with the animals which my pups are accustomed to. The house was clean when we returned and the pets were all safe and comfy! We hope to have Nova care for our babies again!”

“We had Autumn housesit with our boys again and she did an amazing job with them. She goes above and beyond taking care of them and she interacts with them all the time. Neither one of them are leash trained and she even tried walking them in the neighborhood to try to train them. They were a handful but she did try. She always leaves the house clean and picked up. She communicates regularly and sends pictures. We trust her with our boys and will be using her as often as we can.”

I am fully confident and experienced in administering oral medications, managing strict schedules, handling subcutaneous injections (like insulin), and monitoring vital behaviors. If you have a senior pet or an animal requiring specialized care while you are away, you can rest easy knowing they are in the hands of a trained healthcare professional. I’ve had cats and dogs myself for over 10 years now. I have taken care of my own fur babies as well as my families pets when needed ages ranging from bottle fed kittens to senior dogs. I have experience with meal plans (if on any dietary restrictions or specialized diets), medication administration, and specialty medical care for aging pets or growing kittens/puppies. I am fully bilingual (English/Spanish) and look forward to giving your pet the premium, loving care they deserve on weekends, overnights, or intermittent visits during the week! I currently have a daytime job 7:30-4:30pm. I am able to stop in before work, during my lunch, and after work for meals or potty breaks. I am available weekdays for longer walks or playtime after 5pm to later in the evening. I am free anytime on weekends or overnight daily if needed. I am open to any personalized care that the family requests. I can easily follow written instructions or check in with the family if/when requested.
“Shana went above and beyond for my boys and I wholeheartedly recommend her! Professional, accountable, excellent communication, kind, and respectful. I can’t relay enough how appreciative I am of her attentiveness, and never worried for a moment knowing she was there. Thank you!”

“Julianna fit really well with what we thought our dog, Vixie, needed. Vixie has separation anxiety and Julianna was willing to go the extra mile to keep Vixie happy. Walks, treats, cuddles all worked. I would ask Julianna to sit again if the need arose. Thanks, Julianna.”

About: Growing up my family always has multiple dogs and other animals such as fish, rabbits, birds, and cats. My parents had a farm later in my life where I was able to learn to care for cows, chickens, geese, and my favorite Elvis and little bit the pigs. After moving to Walla Walla, I have cared for my friends’ dogs and cats giving me the fun opportunity of years of experience with pets of different personalities and needs. I also have two amazing dogs of my own, including one who requires special care. This has taught me patience, attentiveness, and how important it is to follow each pet’s individual routine. I treat every pet like family and want them to feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I work full-time, but I have some flexibility with my work schedule and can adjust my hours when needed. I’m available for pet care in the evenings, on weekends, and can work with you to find a schedule that fits your pet’s needs. I understand how important it is for pets to have consistency, attention, and care while their owners are away. With my son raising his own family and my daughter off to college, this gives me a lot of free time before, during lunch, and after work to give cuddles. I will care for your pets in the comfort of their own home, where they are already familiar with their surroundings and routines. I understand how important it is to trust someone in your home and with your pets. I will follow your instructions carefully, keep your pets safe and comfortable, and give them plenty of attention, playtime, and love while you’re away. I’m also happy to provide updates so you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are doing well.

Michelle did a great job caring for our dogs Emma and Penny while we were away on a long trip (10 days). They both love her, but it is especially telling that our nervous / fearful dog, Penny, is very comfortable around her. We feel at ease knowing Michelle is taking care of them while we are away!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Walla Walla walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Walla Walla maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Walla Walla choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
