Kathy was great and put me at ease by coming over to meet Oliver (cat) and I the weekend before! Oliver loved her immediately and was very happy and content when I got home from vacation and I will definitely be rebooking with Kathy.

Leana did a great job! This is our second time having Leana care for our 3 dogs. We received updates and photos with every visit. Everything was perfect when we came home and our dogs were calm and not that excited to see us-which I see as a good thing! We will definitely call on Leana again and give her an enthusiastic recommendation.

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve cared for dogs, cats, small animals, and hoofed animals, and my experience extends far beyond pet ownership. I hold bachelor’s degrees in biology, psychology, and anthropology. My studies in animal behavior, physiology, and research help me better understand animal body language, behavior, and individual needs. Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide variety of species, including exotic hoofstock and birds in a zoological setting, as well as pigs, goats, and birds through wildlife rescue and animal care work. I also volunteered in an animal shelter environment for approximately three years, where I handled and photographed thousands of dogs to help them find loving homes. Through that experience, I became comfortable working with dogs of all sizes, ages, temperaments, and energy levels. I have experience administering medications and genuinely enjoy caring for senior pets who may need a little extra patience and attention. I’m also passionate about exercise and an active lifestyle and am happy to provide outdoor walks and enrichment for energetic pets. In addition to my animal background, I hold a master’s degree in counseling, which has strengthened my communication skills, patience, and ability to remain calm and attentive in a variety of situations. Whether your pet is outgoing, shy, energetic, or senior, my goal is to provide reliable, compassionate care tailored to their individual personality and routine so both you and your pet feel comfortable and at ease. I’m a small business owner and public school teacher, which gives me a structured yet flexible schedule that works well for pet care. I generally have the most availability on weekends, school holidays, and breaks—especially during the summer months—when I can provide extended, consistent care and house sitting. During the school year, I’m typically available in the mornings and evenings on weekdays, with greater flexibility on weekends. I’m always happy to discuss specific dates and needs to see what works best for your pet’s routine. I value consistency, communication, and reliability so that pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for, and owners can enjoy peace of mind while they’re away. I provide pet care in my clients’ homes, where I focus on maintaining each pet’s normal routine in the environment where they feel most comfortable. I follow all care instructions closely and make sure feeding, walks, medication, and daily routines are completed on time and as directed. I treat every home with a high level of respect and care, keeping spaces clean, organized, and exactly as I found them. I’m mindful of both the pet’s needs and the owner’s home, and I prioritize reliability, safety, and consistency in every visit or stay. I also believe clear communication is essential, so I provide updates as needed to give owners peace of mind while they’re away.

About: Leave your pets and home in loving care with me and enjoy your time away worry free! Hi I'm Tatiana and I love animals! I promise to treat your fur family like they are my very own and pamper them with love while you're away. My house sitting rates are for overnights only. That covers a 12 hour period. If you need 24 hours of care let me know and I will share those rates. ✅ I have no problem administering medications or caring for special needs animals, if needed. ✅ I have a great system for following pet routines, helping to keep young ones on track with their training and all pets comfortable in the routines they are used to. ✅ Dogs get special attention with me! If they are able, I will usually take them outdoors for some fresh air and fun! ✅ A free bonus your pets will receive in my care is a massage!! I am a Massage Therapist and one of the courses I chose while in school was Dog, Cat and Horse Massage. It was important for me to understand pain relief for my animal friends as well as my human clients. ✅ I have cared for animals for my entire life. As a child, I helped breed and raise parrots, cockatiels & finches. My personal childhood pet pack included a duck, a dog and a cat who were best friends. Followed by multiple cats, a turtle, a snake, three rats, two hamsters, three rabbits and three aquariums throughout my life. ✅ My Step-Mother rehabilitated injured wildlife. It became part of my passion as well, helping a baby squirrel, baby opossum, many baby or injured birds and a raven all make it back to the wild before the age of eighteen. I started pet sitting not long after that at the age of 22. ✅ I have managed properties and estates throughout my years, as it was something I was instantly great at. Being very organized and clean, a genuinely independent person who can easily communicate with contractors, problem solve easily for my clients when they aren't available, and communicate with great efficiency and clarity with my clients when needed, I have found that my clients are very happy with my care of their property while they are on vacation or away for a season. 💖 I have flexibility in my schedule making it fairly easy to work with me when I am available. My priority is making sure you and your animal family are happy. I do not care for pets in my home. I can and will come to you when my services are hired. I mainly service the Kohala Resort Area & Waikoloa Village! Additional costs for driving will be added to visits taken further than 15 miles.

Kathy did an amazing job caring for my multi-cat family! She responded quickly to my request and was able to meet with us promptly. One of my kitties is taking steroids, so it is imperative that she get her pill everyday. Kathy was able to give my kitty her pill ( also referred to as “piling a cat”) without any problems! Kathy was good at communication and was always in contact. I would highly recommend Kathy to care for your furry family! This is the first time I have left my kitties with someone who wasn’t either family or friend. When I need kitty care again, I will most definitely be calling Kathy! Thank you Kathy for caring for my kitties so well and understanding how hard it was for me to be so far away from them! I know you would have done anything needed to keep them safe and away from harm like you did to get that kitty out of the evacuation zone for the tsunami once before. I highly recommend you and would be happy to speak to any future clients about your abilities and compassion in caring for furry creatures. 🐈🐈‍⬛🐶

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Waikoloa Village. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
