Availability
My general working hours are 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Anything before 7:00 AM has an early-morning fee. Dogs in my home are up and out by 6 AM. Drop-off and pick-up times must be confirmed directly with me by message. The times in the Rover app are just placeholders and don’t guarantee availability, so please confirm the times with me in writing so we’re on the same page. For drop-ins at your home, I work within a two-hour arrival window but I will always try to get there as close to the time set as possible. If you need a specific time for medications or something important, just let me know ahead of time. Arrival times for cats can be a little more variable, but if your cat needs a specific arrival window, please let me know clearly ahead of time so I can plan for it. If you’re coming to my home, please arrive right at the confirmed time, please do not arrive early without messaging me first, and if the time needs changed please let me know ahead of time. Please message me when you are on your way. When you leave your home and when you return, please message me directly. On Sundays, I take more of a rest day. I still do pick-ups and drop-offs when needed, and I’m always happy to accommodate your travel schedule. I just keep the day a little quieter and more family-focused, so updates may be lighter on Sundays. Thank you for respecting that rhythm and giving me the day to rest.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety is always my top priority. We have a fully fenced yard, and every door to the home opens into a secure, enclosed area. Dogs are always closely supervised outside, and I’m highly skilled in reading animal behavior to ensure all interactions are safe and positive. I take great care with doors, gates, and keys, keeping everything secure at all times. Beyond safety, I believe a happy dog is a tired dog! In my care, pups get plenty of activity—whether it’s walks, beach trips, or fun adventures with their furry friends. There’s always room to run, play, and explore. At the same time, I’m mindful of senior pets and tailor their care to their individual needs, making sure they’re comfortable and cared for at their own pace. When dogs arrive here, they’re greeted by a solid, social pack of playful Golden Retrievers who genuinely love having new friends around. My Goldens are gentle, friendly, and naturally inclusive — they play, explore, and help our guests feel at home. Because the dogs here live together as a group, all visiting dogs do need to be well-socialized, comfortable with other dogs, and able to enjoy a pack-style environment. The pups who love that kind of companionship absolutely thrive here. I go above and beyond for every pet in my care. I brush them, bathe them when needed, walk them, offer enrichment, give high-quality treats and bone broth, and make sure they feel safe, calm, and loved here. I take this work seriously and I put my whole heart into it.

Information Kathy O. would like to know about your pet
To ensure the best care of your pet, I ask that you provide the following information: • Does your dog experience separation anxiety? • Is your dog crate trained? • Is your dog potty trained? • Does your dog bark or cry when left alone? • Is your dog able to be left at home for periods, or does it require more frequent attention? • Is your dog cat aggressive? • Is your dog good with children? • Does your dog have any special needs or medications? Additionally, please provide a detailed inventory list of the items you’re dropping off with your dog. Please keep items minimal. Beds and toys often get damaged in an active environment, so it’s best to leave those at home. All I need is your dog’s leash and their food. If your dog is a picky eater, please include wet food or a topper, since I can’t always provide canned options. I provide clean bowls here unless your dog uses a special feeder. Keeping things simple helps me keep everything clean and comfortable for your dog and ensures that you get all your belongings back. Please leave a signed written note with your pet’s belongings stating that you give me permission to seek veterinary care in the event of an emergency. I also ask that you refrain from using highly fragranced sprays or chemical products on your dog, as I am careful with the safety of all animals in my care. For flea care, I prefer the use of oral medication over topical treatments to ensure the safety of sensitive animals. Please provide your veterinary records, including proof of vaccinations (parvo, distemper, etc.) and any other important details that pertain to the care and well-being of your pet. This helps ensure your pet stays healthy and happy during their time with me. I’m selective about the families and dogs I work with because of the unique, home-based nature of my care. Dogs live freely in my home alongside my own pets and my child, so I choose both dogs and families thoughtfully to make sure the environment stays safe, calm, and peaceful for everyone. I ask for honesty and clarity regarding your dog’s behavior history, needs, quirks, and any concerns. This information helps me plan properly and make sure your dog is a good fit for my home. I also require a meet and greet before I provide any care. All meet and greets take place off my property in a neutral location. If you would like to come by before boarding we will have to set up an additional time for that. For safety reasons, I reserve the right to contact your emergency backup or arrange alternative placement or care if a dog poses a risk to myself, my animals, or my child. Thank you for understanding.
A typical day
A typical day here starts early, around 5:30–6:00 AM. The dogs go outside to stretch, explore, and play. We usually do a mix of morning training, treats, and a walk before breakfast. After that, we rotate through enrichment activities, yard time, and a nice mid-afternoon nap so everyone can reset. Later in the day, we head out again for more walks, play, fetch, and structured social time. Dinner is calm and relaxed, followed by more outdoor time. Some days we go on little adventures, Waimea, the beach, or nature spots because I love watching dogs enjoy themselves and really live their best lives while they’re here.

Pet care experience
Aloha, please feel free to request for July and August. I am here but will have limited availability. I blocked off my calendar but I may be able to take some requests. I’m unable to book until we get closer and my availability is definitive. Drop in and walks will not be available in July. I apologize for any inconvenience this causes to our extended ohana. 💝 Animals have been my passion for as long as I can remember. From the time I was little, I knew my life would always revolve around them. I’ve dedicated myself to caring for animals of all kinds—dogs, cats, horses, goats, and everything in between. That love led me to earn a degree in wildlife management and to turn my passion into my full-time career as a pet sitter. I am CPR and Pet First Aid certified through the Red Cross, and I am also Fear Free Certified, which means I use gentle, science-based handling methods designed to reduce stress and help pets feel safe, calm, and comfortable during their stay. I will also be a certified dog trainer by mid summer and I spend a lot of personal time researching canine behavior and biology. Pet sitting isn’t just a job for me—it’s my whole life. There’s nothing more rewarding than spending my days surrounded by animals, building trust with them, and ensuring they feel safe, happy, and loved. Whether it’s a playful puppy, a shy cat, or a senior dog who just wants a quiet companion, I cherish every moment I get to share with them. I also take great pride in giving pet owners peace of mind. Whether they’re heading off on vacation or focusing on work, I want them to feel completely at ease knowing their pets are in good hands. Trust is everything in this line of work, and I am committed to providing the highest level of care. From noticing when something isn’t quite right to taking dogs on fun adventures and sharing plenty of cozy cuddle time, I’m dedicated to giving every pet thoughtful, loving, and high-quality care, just like I would for my own. Providing reliable, loving pet care isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am. And I feel so lucky to be able to do it every day in the beautiful state of Hawaii 💗

Kathy is a most wonderful person. Lovely, good/grat vibes. A kind soul and so reasonable! I cannot express enough how much I appreciate the few people I've been able to find out there, that are as genuine as this being! Mahalo! I wish you the best in your future endeavors! Take care

I can't express enough the appreciation I have for Kathy! She is the Good People! 100% trusted and will trust her with my only kiddo! He had so much fun the weekend I had to finish a class, I almost felt like I shoukd have been paying her just for wearing him out! He's slept better than ever these past few nights. I believe he's dreaming of her place and other pals!? Idk, us dog lovers have to be a little... creative, to be good at it. Well, she is! 100%! 10 stars! 5/5! Mahalo again Kathy! Can't recommend enough. First time using this app, so I was super nervous. She put my mind at ease, fast!

Kathy is the best. She truly cares about the animals she’s looking after.
