“Rachel was more than great! I definitely will be booking with her again 😊 I felt 100% comfortable leaving our 3 dogs at home w her coming by to check in & let out, as well as made sure they ate// meds were given - even when one wanted to be lazy couch potato instead of going potty outside for the morning. 10/10 recommend! 🩵🩵🩵”

“She took care of feeding our guinea pigs while we were traveling. She was very kind and sent us photos every day, and we really appreciated it. If we’re ever away again, we would love to ask for her help. Thank you so much, Danika! 😄✨”

About: I've always been surrounded by pets of all shapes and sizes, which has given me a deep understanding and appreciation for animals. I have helped On-Command training, to train my Poodle and a few others. I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. A lifelong dream of mine has been to be a Veterinarian. Working with animals isn't just something I enjoy-it's my passion. I am doing online classes at TMCC, so i am very available for any needs! I do have any own cats to care for, but they aren’t very high maintenance, so i can help care for your animals as much as possible! FULLY AVAILABLE all other hours and days. (Mornings, evenings, weekends outside of listed times). I WOULD NOT MIND GOING TO YOUR HOUSE. I provide care in the comfort of your pet's home. OVERNIGHT STAYS: If need be, I can spend the night for consistent company.

About: I’d make an excellent dog sitter because I bring energy, attentiveness, and a genuine love for animals into everything I do. Even without formal experience, I’m highly responsible and quick to learn, which means I’ll carefully follow any instructions to keep each animal happy, healthy, and on their routine. I’m naturally patient and observant, so I can pick up on personality and needs with confidence! Whether that means playful energy, calm companionship, or extra care and reassurance. Most importantly, I truly enjoy spending time with animals, and I would treat every pet like my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and excited while their owner is away! I am currently working part time and going to school part time. I am free most days and want to still remain productive in any way I can. I ensure cleanliness and safety when it comes to being in someone’s home. I love to clean and tidy up whenever I can! As an introvert, I love quietness so noise isn’t something I emit a bunch of.
About: I have hands on experience working at a doggy daycare, where I cared for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. In addition to dogs, I have experience handling and caring for cats and small animals, including rodents. Pet care is an important and fulfilling part of my weekly routine. I work a job, so I’m fully available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. If there is a change, I will notify you. On the other days, I can provide care between the hours of 7- 10 PM. I make sure to plan my schedule carefully, so both of our schedules align and so I can give pets the time, attention, and consistency they need. When caring for pets in their own home, I make it a priority to keep them comfortable by following their usual routine... feeding, walks, playtime, medications, and more. I give them as much love and affection as I would my own, always aiming to keep their tails wagging, etc. I treat every home with respect and make sure it stays secure and clean. I also send regular updates and photos to the owners so they can feel at ease, knowing their pets are happy, safe, and well cared for.
“Wendy did a fabulous job taking care of our two pups while we were gone. She was able to accommodate us last minute. We loved the updates she provided and photos. We will book her again in the future. Thank you Wendy!”

“Thank you Tessa. You did a great job walking Luna 4 times yesterday. I love that you text me and sent pics every time. I was so impressed and confident with your professionalism and we look forward to our next booking with you. Very Highly Recommended.”

“Kinan regularly checks in with my pup and is always consistent and reliable. Definitely safe to say my dog has a new friend, very relieving to be able to trust Kinan with my guy!”

About: Animals bring me peace and joy and I just can't help but want to be around them to support them. I have raised dogs and other animals throughout my life. I have had cats, fish, hamsters, and even hermit crabs. Animals are always full of life and hope. I have two dogs now. A mother and daughter. It really shows me how deep animals can feel. I love them. Pet sitting is my priority. I spend 24/7 at home unless I am at the park or running errands. I can devote ample time to pet care. I have a fenced yard and two small dogs. They go for walks, trips to the park, as well as off road fun. Like hiking, kayaking, and trail walks.
About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was 10 years old. Starting with walking my neighbors dog. Once I was able to drive I would do overnights with the families dog, that I babysat for. Small dogs, big dogs and even cats. Your little fur baby will be in great hands! I’m currently working full time. I can walk/ drop in Monday -Friday mornings at 7am and I’m available after work at 5:30pm for evening for walks/drop ins. The weekends are more flexible with time for walks and drop ins. I will be needing to pet sit at the location since I cannot have pets in my current house. I have only done pet sitting at the clients houses for the last 16 years. It makes for a better stay, the animals are not overwhelmed and happy to be in their own home.
About: I have hands-on experience working as a veterinary technician, where I learned safe handling, medication administration, basic first aid, and how to keep pets calm in new or stressful situations. That background helps me confidently care for puppies, seniors, pets with medical needs, and shy or nervous animals. Outside of clinical work, I’ve grown up caring for family pets. I’m patient, gentle, and attentive — whether your pet needs enrichment and long walks, or quiet cuddles and routine comfort. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my priority. I currently have a very open and flexible schedule, so I’m able to match your pet’s routine — whether that means early walks, midday visits, or cozy evenings at home. Safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I treat every pet with patience, respect, and the same level of care I’d want for my own. When I’m caring for pets in their home, I follow their established routines — feeding schedules, walks, training cues, boundaries, and any house rules. I make sure doors, gates, and crates are secured, and I always keep a close eye during outdoor time or new environments. At my home, pets have a calm, clean space where they can relax, play, or cuddle depending on their energy and personality. I’m attentive during introductions, supervise closely, and provide plenty of enrichment, exercise, and affection. Whether your pet needs structure and long walks or quiet time and a soft place to nap, I’m committed to keeping them safe, happy, and comfortable.
About: I’ve cared for dog, cats, horses, chickens, and snakes for myself, friends and family, and commercial equine facilities for the past 10 years. I owned and operated a dog training company on Las Vegas for 4 years. I currently work part time at an automotive repair company I co-own doing remote secretarial and administrative tasks. I have an extremely open and flexible schedule which allows me ample time to conform to you and your pets schedule. I care for pets in your home, following your schedule to best reduce stress on the animal. I am available for drop ins or multi-day stays with around the clock availability.
About: I’ve always had dogs in my home, I have 6 right now and my dog daisy is my best friend! I have experience lots of experience with puppies and pregnant dogs because we bred my standard golden doodle twice and my mini schnauzer twice. The schnauzers puppies struggled so I had to administer medicine and watch them closely. I have also watched many older dogs that require medication and lots of attention. I really love meeting new dogs and caring for them. I am a junior at the University of Nevada, Reno and I nanny during the school year for 3 hours 4 days a week. This job works very well with dogsitting because I am available to let the dogs out at least every 4 hours and it’s not everyday so I can still spend a lot of time with your animals. I prefer to stay at the dogs home so they feel comfortable, less stressed, and not overwhelmed when their parents leave town. Being in their natural environment always makes them happier!

I’d be happy to answer anything I’m available through weekdays as well! :) I work Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with two days a week in the office. However, I’m pretty flexible on timing as long as I have advanced notice. I do my best to accommodate pet care needs around my schedule, ensuring your pets get the attention they need while you’re away I treat every pet like my own—cleaning up after them, keeping the home tidy, and making sure they feel seen, loved, and engaged during visits.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Virginia City. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
