Whether I’m caring for a pet in my home or in a client’s home, I follow feeding schedules, provide fresh water, make sure they get the appropriate amount of exercise and playtime, and give them plenty of affection and attention. I also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they can feel confident their pet is happy and well cared for. About: I have had pets in my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, fish, lizards, and even tarantulas! I work a typical 9-5 and can be available before going into work, after work and before bedtime. I have the ability to work from home some days when needed. I will pay attention to the details you leave for me and communicate very clearly throughout the process. I think routine is important to animals and I intend to respect that.

The oldest is 12 and has had some incontinence issues in the past. They both love Caitlin! The youngest had no problems taking his medicine. They both ate and went on many walks. When we returned, we were welcomed by two very happy collies. We are very thankful for Carlin and will definitely call on her again.”

About: I have two family dogs of my own ages 8 and 7. Beyond caring for these two, I have walked a golden retriever occasionally for a while and assisted with neighbor care of other dogs. I am currently a full time employee, but beyond my work I am more than happy to come play and walk your fur baby! While I work a traditional 8-5, I am happy to come by on my lunch break and after work. I am happy to bring your dog around town for a good walk. I am also happy to just walk them in your neighborhood and play with your dog for extended time depending on the day of the week.

About: Hello! My name is Makayla it’s nice to meet you! I have 10 years of experience working at a lodging facilities and I currently work at the Hospitality House. During my time at Dogwood Acres, I gained my CPR certification for animals. Before moving here for college. I am an animal lover and truly enjoy taking care of animals! My family and I have rescued my cat, Iris, and my lab dog, Drake, is a trained hunting dog. I look forward to getting in contact with you and meeting your furry friends! I have gained a lot of experience with dogs and cats through working at Dogwood Acres! I have experience with properly administering medication, feeding, bathing, dog walking, and any other dog activities that you would like! **** My best friend (who works at the Bay Area Vet and worked at Dogwood Acres with me) and I usually do Rovers together (we split the payment together) which works out really perfectly since it allows us to give as much attention as possible to your animal. I have a pretty flexible schedule, my work hours depend on the day so just try to reach out as soon as possible so I can adjust accordingly! I have a fenced yard where my black lab can safety run around in. Working at Dogwood Acres has allowed me to be able to provide trained dog walks as well as supervised play time. I can also be responsible for feeding them and watching them throughout the night if necessary. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important is it to feel that your pet is in a trusted environment, I can promise you I will make their stay as safe and fun as possible!

About: Throughout middle and high school I was a local dog sitter to several different families in my neighborhood. Now, I spend my time volunteering at the local animal shelter or pet sitting. I currently am in graduate school at Appalachian State. I am only in class Monday and Tuesdays and the rest of the week I work part time at a school. I’m able to come home in between classes to spend time with pets and let them outside. I care for pets like I would my own! I make sure that they have everything they need for their happiness and wellbeing. Dogs and cats get especially anxious when their owners leave, so I understand the importance of giving them extra love and care!
