About: I have over 15 years of hands-on pet care experience, including extensive work as an Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Technician. I am highly experienced with dogs and cats of all ages, from energetic puppies to senior and special-needs pets. My background allows me to confidently care for pets who require medications (oral, injectable, insulin), post-surgical monitoring, special diets, mobility assistance, and close observation for medical changes. I am trained to recognize early signs of illness or distress and take calm, appropriate action. Beyond medical care, I focus on creating a safe, comforting, low-stress environment for pets while their families are away. I treat every animal as if they were my own and understand how important trust, reliability, and communication are to pet parents. Pet care is something I do part-time to supplement my income, which allows me to remain flexible and attentive to each pet’s individual needs. I coordinate care around the pet’s routine, medical requirements, and comfort level, whether that means scheduled drop-ins, extended visits, or adjusting timing as needed. I prioritize reliability, clear communication, and consistency so pets experience as little disruption to their normal routine as possible Safety, trust, and compassion are at the core of how I care for animals. I approach every pet with patience, empathy, and respect, especially those who are anxious, elderly, recovering, or have medical needs. My background in emergency veterinary medicine allows me to remain calm, observant, and responsive while providing gentle, attentive care in both my home and a client’s home. I focus on creating a low-stress, nurturing environment by closely observing behavior, respecting boundaries, and meeting each pet where they are emotionally and physically. My goal is to provide not just supervision, but the reassurance and comfort pets need to feel safe, cared for, and understood.

I am currently looking for a better opportunity as a veterinary assistant so right now my schedule is pretty open i am available Monday through Friday as well as weekends if needed I care for two large dogs and two small dogs, ensuring they are well-fed, walked, and engaged, as their well-being is my priority. I will bring the same level of dedication to your pets.
About: I have proudly taken in over many dogs in the last couple years from abusive owners, shelters, and streets. I will never be able to see an animal in need and walk away. All they want is attention and love. Innocent creatures deserve the best. I currently work nights and actually have my entire day for side hustles and activities. I would love to spend the day time assisting with animals. My home has a fenced yard and I see it myself with my 1 year old golden doodle how much throwing a single ball can make them happy. These babies just want love and attention . I don’t think that’s a lot to ask for.

About: I grew up with my own dogs and have a lifelong love for animals. Currently, I live with two dogs and a cat owned by my roommate. I am their primary caregiver whenever my roommate travels, often providing full-time care for over a month. This includes managing feeding schedules for all three pets simultaneously and ensuring they get their daily walks and plenty of individual attention. I work full-time, so I am available for pet care on weekdays after 5 PM. On weekends, I have a completely flexible schedule and can dedicate my whole day to your pets. Since I live with two dogs and a cat, I am very used to a consistent routine of evening walks and playtime I live in a pet-friendly home with a fenced yard, currently sharing space with two friendly dogs and one cat. Your pet will have great company! I am very experienced in introducing new dogs to the pack safely. If needed, I can provide a crate for your pet's comfort and safety during their stay.
“Jenny looked after my cat last-minute after a previously booked sitter cancelled… and she was amazing! Very communicative, friendly, and it’s clear my cat really liked her too :) my building manager even told me “I think your cat is getting really good care!” after meeting Jenny. So appreciative and hope you can look after my baby again!”

About: I grew up with cats and dogs! I have experience with kittens and puppies, as well as our rescue senior dog. I have occasionally used tricks to get pets to take medication, and I am no stranger to moody pets. I also have experience with pets recovering from various medical procedures ranging from teeth removal to major surgeries. I recently moved to the city! I’m not planning to get a strict scheduled job and prefer the flexibility Rover has to offer, so my schedule is very open. I do not have any personal equipment for handling pets at the moment, so anything needed for the care of the pet must be provided by the client. I am very happy to walk, feed, play with, and just simply spend time with your pets whenever needed! So long as all the necessary care items are provided for me, I can do it!

About: I have 14 years of experience taking care of my dog. I practically grew up with him. As I got older I took responsibility over him. Walking him everyday, feeding him and always making sure he had clean water. I also managed to train him when he was older. So I learned that you can teach an old dog new tricks. I have also taken care of my next door neighbor's dog. They have always asked me when then leave for a trip. I currently take care of my brother's small dog. I'm currently not working and have plenty of time. I go on runs in the morning and like to keep active throughout the day. I have a fenced home and nice walking areas nearby. I'll take what a need for a proper dog walk and making sure your pet is happy and safe.

“Brian has been a lifesaver for me as my cat has been struggling with a kidney infection. He was very kind, compassionate, caring and yet comfortably firm with my cats during his visits. He was always on time and twice adjusted his visit around my chaotic schedule. I really appreciated his flexibility. We had a few schedule mixups with the Rover system, but Brian responded quickly and professionally and thoroughly took care of us. I will definitely be booking Brian again. He is exactly what I hoped Rover would be.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Vernon
This was one of the most heartbreaking times of my life, for me and for my 14-year-old dog, Sophie. Just two weeks earlier, Sophie lost her twin sister. From the day they were born, they had never been apart, not even for a single day. While we were both still grieving, I had to leave for a business trip. For the first time in her life, Sophie would be completely alone. I booked drop-in visits three times a day and hoped she would be okay. On the third day, I asked Dani how Sophie was doing. Dani didn’t hide anything. She told me Sophie had been crying all day, so loudly that she could hear her from the hallway. My heart broke. Then, without hesitating, Dani offered to bring Sophie to her own home that same day. I was worried, because Sophie had never been boarded before. But at Dani’s home, something beautiful happened. Sophie made a new friend, and for the first time since losing her sister, she seemed relieved and happy again. Most sitters would simply say, “Your dog is doing fine,” so the owner won’t worry. Dani told me the truth, even though it was hard to hear, and then she did something about it. That honesty and kindness meant everything to me. Dani is genuine, and she truly cares about every dog she looks after. I don’t usually write reviews, but I couldn’t stay quiet about this. Dani, thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking care of Sophie when she needed it most. I will never forget it.

Krystal has taken care of my two kitties several times when I have been away on work trips. She is responsive and accommodating and sends me lots of pictures of them. They seem to love her too. I will definitely be requesting her to take care of them again in future.
We interviewed several dog caregivers, but my Saint Bernard, Emmy, immediately connected with Yasmin. Her regular updates, photos, and videos reassured me that Emmy was safe, happy, and loved. Yasmin was attentive, caring, and trustworthy, making the experience completely stress-free. I highly recommend her for loving, responsible pet care.

This is our second time booking with Malia and we’re so happy we found her! Lou absolutely loves her and knowing she’s in good hands makes being away so much easier. When we ran out of cat food, Malia made sure Lou wouldn’t go hungry and when our flight was delayed, she was happy to arrange an extra visit. She’s caring, reliable and goes the extra mile. We couldn’t ask for a better cat sitter! Thank you! 🐾

Chelsea was fantastic! She arrived right on time and took care of everything I asked for — my cats were happy, well-fed, and clearly enjoyed her company. She's incredibly patient and gentle with them, and I could tell they really liked her. I felt completely at ease leaving them in her care. Highly recommend Chelsea to any cat parent!

I had sage watch over my princess for 2 weeks. And wow I cannot compliment her enough. She updated me about how my cat is doing, played with her, fed her well, and was very flexible. My cat loved her so much!! You can also tell she has so much experience by the way she takes care of other pets. She even talked to my cat and kept her company while I was away. Sage also respects all instructions and is very smart + has great memory. HIGHLY recommend and will keep using sage ❤️

Sofia took great care of our two cats while we were away for the weekend, just as she did the first time we booked with her. She took plenty of pictures and gave clear updates that gave us peace of mind while we were away. We would definitely have Sofia look after them again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
