“Meghan was awesome!! This was our first time spending the long weekend at our home with our two pups. She took them on long walks, checked in often with photos and was very respectful of our house too- even doing dishes and laundry (thank you Meghan!) one of our pups is a little anxious but Meghan was very attentive and caring and made sure to check in about anything that I didn’t leave a note about. An excellent experience! Will definitely book with Meghan again ?”
About: In the last decade+ I've taken care of half a dozen dogs and nearly a dozen cats for friends and through word-of-mouth, including a very senior chihuahua who was blind and deaf and needed diapers changed. I always had cats and dogs around growing up, including two difficult dogs from shelters who had issues. I live with an energetic pit-lab mix, and my parents' three rescue cats are still my sweeties. In the past I volunteered at an animal shelter, helping to socialize cats and walk dogs. I hike every day if I can, so if your dog enjoys vigorous exercise on trails, I can provide that too! I'm an adjunct college professor and freelance writer, so my work is part-time or sporadic, with much of it being done at home. If I'm available, I'll have plenty of time to linger and give attention to your pets! I'll follow your lead on what situations you're comfortable with for your pet, in terms of where I bring your dog for a walk, how they interact with other animals and people, etc.
“Emily was amazing! Our dog was thrilled to spend a few days with her. She was happy to set up a meet and greet before coming to stay and is very responsible and communicative. And bonus for the humans- our house was sparkling clean on our return ☺️. We will definitely be booking with Emily again in the future!”

“We had such a great experience using Molly to house sit with our cat and dog while we were away. She was willing to meet multiple times before our trip to get our dog used to a new person. She arrived exactly when she said she would and sent us lots of pictures the whole time we were gone. She also worked with our picky cat to make sure he got his daily medicine. We’re ready to book her again for our next trip!”

About: My aunts and friends have always had dogs, so growing up I had a lot of experience with a wide variety of animals. I’ve helped my aunt train her excited Chocolate Lab puppy, taken care of my friend’s barky, 11 pound Mini Pinscher while they were away, and helped feed, walk, and play with my own household’s anxious, raw diet mut, Sheila. I know how to love and take care of any type of dog—from loudly outgoing to shy! I just finished my sophomore year of college and am looking to help care for anyone’s pets this summer. My schedule is open, so I am flexible to visit your pet whenever you need! I will gladly take your dog on a nice long walk and play with them around your backyard to release any pent up energy! Inside, I’m also up for playing with toys and giving lots of pets!

“Beatrice was so sweet with our 2 little pups. They took to her right away, and when we returned, they seemed to be very comfortable with her! We will certainly reach out to her on our next visit to Burlington. Thanks!”

“Alison took great care of my dog and my house. She sent pictures during my trip so I knew that my girl was well. Alison offered updates on her eating, digestion and sleeping. I was so thankful for the thoughtful care. I would highly recommend”

“Laura house sat for us for the first time and she was wonderful! Daisy seemed to be very content with her. Laura responded quickly to my texts and sent great photos of Daisy. We will definitely have her again and highly recommend her!”

“Steven is great! He’s friendly and our dogs couldn’t have been happier and more well taken care of when we got home. He was quick to take our sitting job in a pinch and we look forward to having him hang with our dogs again in the future!”

“Karen is extremely kind and pleasant. It was hard to tell she was even here! She took great care of our dog, even giving him a bath! He was very happy with her. We would use Karen again!”

“Cindy took such good care of my dog while I was away on vacation. She kept in regular touch with me, by providing updates on how things were going, as well as pictures, which really put my mind at ease. It was the first time my dog hadn't been watched by either friends or family, so it meant a lot to find someone that genuinely loves animals and was fully committed to my dog's needs, as she was very attentive to my instructions regarding his eating schedule and other routines. When I got home, my place was spotless, and she had taken the extra step of doing laundry and making the bed, so I would have clean sheets to return to! I would highly recommend Cindy for anyone looking for an extremely reliable, responsible, and caring dog sitter.”

About: I grew up around animals of all kinds on a farm and had the privilege of owning and loving our dog, Betty Lou for 14 years. I work from home and am looking for ways to make extra money while staying active and fitting in with my kids' school schedule (9 am-3 PM). We have a fenced in yard and I will follow whatever guidelines are needed in the client's home. I understand each situation is different and each pet needs specific care.

I have a flexible schedule as I am in between jobs right now and have plenty of availability for pet care, walks, check-ins, and overnight stays. I try to keep pets as comfortable and relaxed as possible by sticking closely to their normal routines. Whether I’m caring for pets in their home or mine, I make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, play, affection, and a calm environment. “My babies are everything to me. We hardly travel without them because we haven’t found anyone yet who can or is willing to care for them in a way that I’m content with. Enter Laura. Laura proves her trustworthiness by her excellent care and communication before booking. She is very competent regarding what I feel to be more complex pup situations. Added bonus, she is active and is able to give my high energy pups a good amount of exercise. My partner and I were able to have a fantastic time away without any worries. I am thrilled with Laura, and hope she is interested in working with us again!”

About: Relationship with animals has always been a passion of mine. I started grooming dogs with my grandmother at the age of 10, but was her assistant long before I earned the title. It brings me joy and fulfillment to care for pups and cats alike, while creating an environment where they (and you) can feel safe and earn my trust in the process. As a part time bartender at Pascolo Restaurant in Downtown Burlington, it would fit into my schedule to walk dogs in the morning, afternoon and early evening as well as weekends. There is a lot of freedom to work around your schedule :) In my home, I live off of Main Street in Vergennes and can provide safe walking around town as well as some of the trails near by. In your home, I am quick to adapt to whatever will make you most comfortable!
