Libah was incredible with our 2 golden doodles! I have always been anxious leaving my babies when we go out of town but I didn't feel that way at all with Libah. She sent me regular updates and pictures and took care of them like they were her babies. Finding a sitter we trust has been so difficult and we are so relieved to have found Libah!! Would 100% recommend her to anyone needing a sitter!

Megan is a lifesaver! We have never left our puppy before and wanted to travel for our daughter’s graduation in NYC. We never had to worry for a minute. So grateful she stayed at our home with both dogs. We highly recommend Megan to home sit.

About: I have taken care of both dogs and cats for the last few years. I have two cats at home but I also love dogs. I will give them the love they need while you are away. I am currently available all times for the next two weeks. My work schedule is flexible and I can go by your place in the morning and evening and for a quick check in during the afternoon if needed or can easily stay at your place if needed to stay overnight At my home we don’t let our cats outside to protect them from wild animals outside like alligators and in other homes I would not let someone’s dog outside loose unless in a fenced yard otherwise I would have them on a leash.

About: Hi, I'm Miranda, a lifelong animal lover with over 20 years of experience in pet care, including in-home sitting and drop in visits for cats and dogs and even the occasional exotic fish or bird. Based in North Port, Venice and Sarasota areas. I believe pets thrive best in their own familiar environment—free from the stress of kennels or boarding facilities. That's why I specialize in personalized, overnight in-home pet sitting, ensuring your furry family member gets the love, exercise, and routine they crave while you're away. I've fostered many rescues in my home. I have skills in everything from oral medication administration to basic behavioral training. Whether it's daily walks in the neighborhood, playtime with toys, or cozy cuddle sessions on the couch, I tailor my care to your pet's unique personality and needs. I also provide daily photo and video updates so you can stay connected! Past clients rave about my reliability and the peace of mind I bring. When I'm not watching fur babies, you'll find me at the beach, hanging out with my 2 rescue pups or adventuring. Ready to book a meet-and-greet? Message me! Let's keep your pet happy, healthy, and home—where they belong! 🐾 Looking for a reliable sitter in Gulf Gate? I work locally Mon–Thu and can easily swing by for drop-ins before, during, or after my workday. I’m also happy to stay at your place! I’ll be out of your house during the day for work, but I make it a priority to come home at lunch to check on your fur babies and make sure they’re doing great. I’ve been a dedicated animal lover and sitter for over two decades! My journey began on a Colorado ranch where I looked after everything from pups to poultry (and the occasional iguana). Since then, I’ve spent years fostering dogs and building a loyal base of repeat clients who trust me with their homes and 'fur babies.' You can count on me to provide the same love and care I give my own pets, while always leaving your home exactly as I found it—clean and tidy

About: Animals have been the center of my world for as long as I can remember. Growing up surrounded by dogs, cats, and bunnies, caretaking has always been second nature to me. As a former teacher, I am now leaning fully into my true passion, and bringing comfort and happiness to pets gives me so much genuine joy. Whether your family member is a high-energy pup, an independent cat, or a gentle senior who needs a patient touch and daily medication, I treat them with the exact same structure, love, and respect I would give my own. I can't wait to keep your furry best friends safe, happy, and thoroughly spoiled while you're away! Because my other part-time commitments total only 6 hours a week, my schedule is incredibly flexible, leaving me with plenty of open time to focus entirely on caring for your pets! Here is exactly when I am briefly away each week: Weekday Evenings (2 total): At a gym, I coach a few adult workout classes in the evenings. Sunday Mornings: I teach Sunday school to preschoolers for a brief session. Outside of these short windows, my days are completely open. This minimal schedule allows me to offer highly attentive, consistent care, adapt easily to your pet's normal routine, and provide plenty of companionship throughout the day! Whether welcoming a pet into my home or staying at yours, safety and clear structure are my top priorities. My home is a pet loving environment shared with my friendly dog and two cats. To ensure everyone feels secure and comfortable, I utilize sturdy pet gates to easily separate animals for quiet time or feeding, and I am more than happy to accommodate crating upon request. Because my part-time jobs take up only 6 hours a week, pets in my care receive constant supervision and a highly consistent routine. As a former educator, I am meticulous about following your exact instructions, maintaining strict safety boundaries, and keeping you updated with photos so you can relax knowing your furry family members are safe, respected, and thoroughly loved.

Debbie took great care of Moxie. I'm always nervous leaving my girl with a new sitter, but Debbie put me right at ease. Her two dogs are sweet and calm and it was great for Moxie to have companions. If your dog is nervous, she has ways to keep them separated. I appreciated the daily updates, photos, and videos and reassurance so I could relax and enjoy my business trip. I will definitely leave Moxie in Debbie's care again.

About: Welcome to my home-based dog boarding experience, where your pup becomes part of the family! I can offer a huge fenced-in yard perfect for safe play, exercise, and outdoor fun. Overnight boarding is available for potty-trained pets, and dog walking can be included as part of their stay. I'm experienced with puppies, senior dogs, and pets with special needs, and I strive to provide loving, individualized care for every guest. Solitary boarding accommodations are also available upon request for pets who do best in their own space (additional fee may apply). Because my home includes elementary-age children, all pets must be child-friendly. Your dog will be cared for by me and Melody — our lovable, mischievous 1-year-old rescue pup! Pet care is naturally built into our daily routine because animals are a big part of my home and family life. There is always plenty of love, attention, and activity to go around. Dogs in my care enjoy regular outdoor time in our large, fenced yard, walks, playtime, feeding schedules tailored to their needs, and lots of companionship throughout the day. Because I attend to other responsibilities during the day, I ask that your pet is crate or kennel comfortable to ensure their safety while we are away. Pets staying in my home are treated like part of the family. I provide a safe, loving environment with plenty of supervised outdoor play in our large fenced yard, walks, playtime, feeding schedules based on your pet’s routine, and lots of affection and companionship throughout the day.

FAQs for House Sitting - Vamo

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Vamo on Rover is $67.47 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,059 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Vamo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Vamo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Vamo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Vamo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Vamo. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
