About: I’ve worked with dogs of all sizes at a pet care facility for over 2 years. I also have an animal science degree and have worked with many animals especially cats, dogs, and horses. l would love to get to know your furry friend! I’m a recent college graduate currently taking a gap year before graduate school. This means I have plenty of time to follow your schedule, and take care of your furry friends. I have experience giving pilled medications, and have also administered insulin for a diabetic dog. I can prepare raw food or kibble with any supplements or toppers you’d like. Additionally, I love to teach dogs new fun tricks and playing fetch in the yard.

“Let me say this upfront. I am an overprotective Mama. I know it and I accept it, lol. It is what it is. I tried using a pet sitter once before and I had a terrible experience, hence why it took me well over a year to try again. I took a leap of faith, tried again.....and found Elizabeth! Something magical happens when your pets become more than just pets....they become your children. The trepidation that anyone would have to leave their children with a stranger was quickly dismissed when we realized that Elizabeth was a friend and an enormous pet lover. Her care and concern for Grace, Stella, and Frankie was amplified by the genuine joy that she not only brought to our home but to their lives. Our time away from home was worry free and truly allowed us to enjoy our vacation. She handled all of her responsibilities not only with professionalism but with a honest sense of excitement. I HIGHLY recommend Elizabeth for all of your pet-sitting needs! Elizabeth is the cats meow!!!”

About: I have always been a pet person. I’ve lived my whole life always having a pet. Whether that’s dogs, cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, or even fish! I love all animals and have even done wildlife rehab rescues. I’ve had experience dog sitting as well as dog walking. I know that every dog is different so I adjust to every pets needs, no two dogs are the same and every one is special in their own way :) Weekdays i'm available in the afternoons till however late is necessary. Weekends my schedule is practically wide open! My personal at home routine with my animals includes walks, food, water, play time, and anything in between! I have a large fenced in yard that my dog loves to run around in! I have a car too if any transport is needed, equipped with safety for dogs in the car! When I take dogs for walks I always bring a travel water bottle for them as well as snacks! I place a huge importance on dogs safety and health so on walks I will always go with the dogs pace and never push them past their limits, on really hot days we will stop for shade and water breaks!
“Christy took amazing care of my 3 little kitties! She was perfectly punctual and gave my kitties lots of love and attention! She sent the sweetest pictures of them, which made being away from them for a week much easier! I’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

About: I've been taking care of dogs my whole life and they all have good experiences and they are very comfortable with me. I love dogs Pet care is already part of my daily routine. I have my own dog, Ziggy, and I’ve had my service dog, Eclipse, for two years. As I prepare for college, I have a flexible schedule and look forward to providing dependable, loving care for your pets. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. As the owner of Ziggy and my service dog, Eclipse, I’ve learned how important routine, patience, and positive care are. “I have used April once, but intend to use her again soon. She is responsive and thorough whenever I contact her. She sent an adorable photo of my dog from her drop-in visit. I feel overall that I can trust that she will be there when she needs to be and do what I have asked of her.”

About: I've always loved animals and have had cats since I was 8 years old. I currently have four cats, so I understand how important it is to have someone you trust caring for your pets. Over the years, I've cared for pets for friends, family, and coworkers, including dogs and cats. I've welcomed dogs and cats into my home for overnight stays, provided drop-in visits to feed and care for cats, and taken care of pets while their owners were away. I know every pet has their own personality and routine, and I'll always treat your furry family members with the same love, patience, and attention I'd want for my own pets. I also love sending photo updates so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I have a flexible schedule and do my best to accommodate each pet owner's needs. I offer drop-in visits, dog walking, and house sitting, and I'm happy to follow your pet's routine to keep them comfortable while you're away. Communication is important to me, and I'll always keep you updated throughout your pet's care. Your pet's safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. I'll follow all of your instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, medications (if needed), playtime, and any special care your pet requires. I'll also send regular photo updates so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands.
“While on vacation our young pup wouldn’t stop crying when she was left alone in our beach rental. Lauren was able to help watch her the very next morning. So responsive! So sweet! So punctual! I can’t say enough good things about Lauren!”
“We are so grateful for Marta, thank you so much! We were able to go on a family vacation out of the country and know that she was taking excellent care of our shy and nervous senior kitty and following all of our instructions about his special diet and medication! She always made an effort to connect with him and make him feel comfortable which we really appreciated. We will definitely hire her again!”
“We have finally found a dependable, competent, all around amazing babysitter for our cats. Gary was reliable and punctual. He really put in effort to get the cats to trust him and we came home to clean litters. As long as he is available, he will be our go-to cat sitter!”

About: Hi there! I can’t wait to welcome your pet into my home. Dogs and cats who stay here are treated like guests of honor, with all the care and attention I bestow upon my own pets. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, pets are allowed to roam freely in a cozy, familiar home environment — no rows of kenneled dogs here! I’m very selective about the pets I accept. I usually only accept a maximum of 3-4 dogs at once. I meet every new pet before booking, and I usually won’t accept more than one new dog at a time, alongside repeat clients. This ensures that I’m familiar with how all the dogs will interact with each other, with only one new variable, thus avoiding potentially uncomfortable or dangerous situations for your pet. I’ve always loved animals, and with more than 15 years of pet care under my belt, I have the knowledge and experience to provide your pets with the best care possible. I take the responsibility of caring for your pets very seriously, and I’m certified by the American Red Cross in Cat and Dog First Aid. Earliest drop off or pickup is at 8 am. Latest drop off or pickup is at 8 pm on weekdays, 9 pm on weekends. I’m also available for drop-ins at your home, every day except Saturday mornings. (I’m available Saturday evenings instead.) For Dogs: I have a large, unfenced backyard that dogs love exploring on a 50-foot long leash - so many scents to sniff and chipmunks to chase! I’m always there to monitor them - dogs are never left alone outdoors. Water is always available, and I work from home so I’m around the majority of the day to keep them happy and safe. What you’ll need to send: Their regular food is the most important thing to send, as dogs can get upset stomach from sudden dietary changes. You can also send their favorite treats, and a favorite toy. If they tend to pull on the leash, a front-latch harness, rubber-tipped prong collar, or gentle leader is appreciated. Bowls, beds, brushes, litter bags etc. are all unnecessary, as I have extras of all these supplies. For puppies, a crate may be necessary, depending on their level of potty training. For Cats: The cats have a comfy lounge downstairs, with food, water, litter boxes, and scratching posts. The dogs are not allowed downstairs, so the cats can get all the space they need from the dogs. The cats are free to move upstairs and downstairs as they prefer. All cats are indoors only. I have a lot of wide, accessible windowsills that they love chilling on to watch birds and squirrels outside, as well as battery-operated and automated toys that they can chase and play with on their own. What you’ll need to send: their regular food (wet and dry) and treats. Cat litter is also appreciated. I work from home, so my schedule is flexible and I’m home most of the day. I have a spacious home that can accommodate giving multiple animals space, and I can keep animals separated from each other if necessary. I've always loved animals of all kinds, and I currently have my own dog and 3 cats. I can't wait to meet your pet, and I promise to love them and care for them the way every pet deserves to be loved!
About: Animals have been a part of my life since childhood, from our show dog who was an Irish Wolfhound to being a rescue mom to smaller terriers. I have cared for horses, chickens, bunnies which included pets with special handicaps. With deep empathy and natural connection, I understand animals on an intuitive level. I have trained puppies, comforted seniors and welcomed countless creatures who somehow find their way to my home. Your pet will find a home away from home here with me, safe, loving-and I look forward to offering the same love I show all animals to your beloved pet. All the animals in my home live in harmony together. Some visitors marvel at that fact but it's how I treat each animal with love and care that fosters this environment. All needs are met and everyone is happy! I am home during the day and available to provide attentive care for your pet. I may step out briefly for errands or other chores but will ensure your pet's needs are fully met and they get plenty of company and care. Our home is on one acre with a fenced in yard and great area for walking with lots of trees in a peaceful setting. I have a senior dog (17 yo) that loves company. We also have cats which are friendly and curious.

Marshall was our first family dog, Roberta grew up with multiple dogs caring for them from pups through seniors. Additionally, our 6 year-old daughter has enough energy to provide tons of additional fetch and chase time. We also have a 1 year old that can’t wait to get in on the action! We are able to (and love) having pups with special needs. Marshall's best friend was blind and we cared for him on many occasions. We can also administer medications and prepare specialized meals when needed. We have a large backyard that allows for plenty of jaunts and potty breaks. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Valley Cottage
Lauren was absolutely amazing with our puppy, Mila! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She kept us updated throughout the visits, checked in regularly, and provided plenty of photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was so reassuring to see how quickly Mila trusted Lauren and how much she enjoyed spending time with her. Lauren is incredibly sweet, caring, and attentive, and it was clear that Mila was in great hands. We would 1000% book with Lauren again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and compassionate!

Dan Bee took great care of Bouji when we travelled for 3 days. Bouji was not yet 1 years old and not used to being alone. Dan Bee took time each visit to find her (hiding!) and engage her and give her attention and socialization, in addition to taking care of water and food and litter. I could enjoy my time away knowing Bouji was in good hands.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
