“Cheyenne was terrific. I would love to have her stay here again. She was punctual, polite, and did a great job in general. Took my energetic, large dog to the dog park multiple times. She paid attention to everything I shared with her about the animals, and they were all happy. I have two cats as well.”
“Elizabeth is wonderful! She housesat for us and our pets for 5 days and took great care of everyone and everything! She sent us updates and photos and we felt confident that we'd found just the right person for us and our dogs. That all meant we could really enjoy our vacation. Our dogs were happy and even playful with each other (pretty great for older dogs!). They loved her and were not perturbed at all that we'd left them... not even sure they even missed us (haha!). She is experienced, comfortable with animals, intuitive and very smart. As empty-nesters, our dogs are our kids and we knew they were in excellent hands with Elizabeth. She took perfect care of our house, too! We recommend her so highly and you can be sure that during your time away from home, your pets will be cared for beautifully!”

About: I have had a dog for 40 years, in addition to other pets. I love all animals (more than most people 😊) and I love spending time with them. In addition to owning pets, I have also volunteered for dog rescues. I have cared for friends’ animals as if they were my own. Currently, I am not working for the summer and have a very flexible schedule. I can carve out chunks of time to spend with animals to give them attention, food, and exercise. I will continue caring for animals in the same way that owners do in their household, following all rules, routines, and expectations. I am an active person and happy to take a dog for a walk or a run.

About: I have been my friends and some families go to house and pet sitter for a very long time. While I mostly have experience with cats and dogs I like to take care of all pets. I like to take pictures to catch the funny moments. While I am in school this give good flexibility for dropins/walking and overnight stays letting me easily fit into you and your pets schedule. While I can't take care of your pet in my home, I can do house sitting and dropins/walks. I am familiar with complex nutrition requirements for different animals as well.

“Will was excellent! I felt very comfortable having him at my home taking care of my dogs. He was super kind to my near 15 year old husky with some old doggie special needs. I will be sure to rebook if he’s available, thank you!!!”
“Owning a reactive dog, particularly one who reacts to people and other dogs, poses numerous challenges. Among them is the daunting task of finding a trustworthy dog sitter for our german shepherd. Given the liability concerns associated with such dogs, we were so nervous. However, our worries dissipated when we met with Fiona. Her daily updates and pictures reassured us. After the first few days, they formed a nice bond between them, resulting in cute snuggles! We would recommend Fiona's services!”

“Christine did a wonderful job sitting my pups at my home! She was communicative during the booking process and during the entire duration of the job. My pups were well taken care of, with plenty of snuggles. She was great with the medications they needed and helped get some skin areas healed up. Definitely recommend.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Shannon! She followed our directions perfectly, making sure our dog felt comfortable and cared for. She even gave him lots of cuddles, which he loved. We found her to be reliable and trustworthy, and it was great to know our dog was in such good hands. Highly recommend!”

“We've used Matt's services in our home several times now and will continue to. Our pets are well loved while we're away (pics to prove it) and very relaxed when we return. Thanks Matt!”
“We had a wonderful experience with your sitter; Sukhpran. She took great care of our two pups and cat. She was very attentive, kind, and responsive through the entire stay. We loved receiving all the photos and updates! We came back home to a house full of happy and relaxed fur babies.”

“Bailey was wonderful while we were away during fireworks weekend in Burlington VT. Our 7 year old black lab greyhound is an anxious boy and very skittish with the booms and the bangs. Bailey kept him calm and relaxed without all the meds we suggested merely with her own relaxed self and a bit of music playing in the background. We received updated texts and photos helping us not to worry, our boy has a new friend and we have an excellent sitter. Reach out to her, she’s communicative, reliable and personable. You’ll appreciate her as much as we did!”

“Beatrice was so sweet with our 2 little pups. They took to her right away, and when we returned, they seemed to be very comfortable with her! We will certainly reach out to her on our next visit to Burlington. Thanks!”

“Paige was super responsive leading up to an initial meet & greet. She made time to come over after working her day job. She was great with our pups, calm affectionate and patient. She update me during her time with my girls and when we got home. I will happily book with Paige in the future.”

“Brooke took great care of our kitty, Sox, while we were away. We got photos of their activities together! Brooke was reliable and responsive to messages. Our house was exactly as it was when we left. She even washed the sheets, which was appreciated since we got home at 2am. Would highly recommend Brooke to care for your pet and look forward to having her here again.”

About: I have a great amount of experience with animals. I have cared for Bunnies,Rats, Birds, Reptiles, Cats and dogs as well. I’m familiar with treating senior dogs and cats. Their wet food includes multivitamins, probiotics and allergy medications. Both cats have separate diets that best suit their needs. About: I grew up in rural Virginia, in a county bordering Shenandoah National Park. That area of Virginia is primarily known as being the horse capital of the country, and like every little girl, I fell in love with horses. In order to afford riding, I’d often trade farm work for time in the saddle; and so, I grew up surrounded by creatures great and small. Not only was I responsible for taking care of my family’s personal dogs and cats, but also the farm animals (in particular, 15+ horses at a time, farm dogs, and barn cats). My unique upbringing with horses and other animals has made me a versatile house sitter. Since I was 16 (5 years ago!), I have consistently been house sitting for families with dogs, cats, and horses. Moving to Burlington has brought me away from animals, as it is hard (nearly impossible) to care for a pet while being a full time student living in an apartment. Thus, I’ve joined rover in hopes of reconnecting with my four legged friends. I am happy to help care for your pets in whatever way you see fit! I love running, walking, hiking, or simply lounging, and am flexible to your pet’s needs. As an animal lover myself, I am committed to making sure your pet is happy and healthy! I work as a barista 4 days a week from roughly 7 or 9am (depending on my shift) to 3 or 5pm. My work schedule is usually planned a month in advance and any days that I am not working at the cafe I am available for dog walking or house sitting duties. In my free time, you can find me running, working out, reading, or painting. If your dog is an active creature, I would love to take them on runs or walks! If not, I am more that happy to care for them and keep them company while you’re away! I am not able to keep your pet at my apartment for extended periods of time due to my living situation with four roommates. However, I am more than happy to take them on adventures or visit your home to care for your pets!

About: I've been caring for animals since I was 12. Over the years, neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me with walks, drop-in visits, and overnight stays in their homes. I take that trust seriously. I follow your pet's routine closely, keep their environment calm and consistent, and send photo updates so you're never left wondering how they're doing. Whether it's a high energy dog who needs a good run or a senior cat who prefers quiet company, I adjust my approach to fit each pet's personality and needs. My focus is always on safety, comfort, and making sure your pet feels at ease while you're away. You'll come back to a happy animal and a home that's been well looked after. My work is fully flexible, so I have plenty of availability for overnight stays any day of the week. For walks and drop-in visits, I'm available Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I work around your pet's normal routine to keep them comfortable and on track while you're away. When I stay in your home, it is extremely important to me that I prioritize keeping it clean and treating it as I would treat my own.
“Isabel was amazing with my two very hyper dogs while I was out of town. She did a great job house & dog sitting for me. I appreciated the updates of the pups while I was gone. I would recommend her services & will definitely rebook.”

Sofia did a fantastic job not only caring for our pets but especially for our home. She left it exactly as we did and followed all the instructions we left. She even helped clean up when a bear unfortunately got in our trash. We received daily communication with photos which we greatly appreciated. Couldn’t have asked for a better sitter!! HIGHLY recommend and looking forward to her next stay!

Clara has stayed at my house and watched my dog, Mazey a few different times now. She is reliable, trustworthy, a good communicator, and my dog loves her! I have had a few dog sitters over the last couple years, and Clara has definitely been the one that I am most comfortable with. I can leave town and do what I need to do without worry when Mazey is under her care.

Clara was absolutely fantastic. I have a senior dog with special needs and she took wonderful care of him. She kept me posted with how he was doing and if there were issues I should be aware of. I felt very comfortable that my boy was well taken care of. I would highly recommend Clara to anyone and everyone.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Underhill Center walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Underhill Center maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Underhill Center choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Underhill Center. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
