“Allison was great. The house was left as we left it, cat seemed as happy as she can be these days (she's not feeling well) and overall instructions were followed and things went smoothly. Have already rebooked her for our next trip and look forward to our Henrietta Pussycat getting more comfortable with her and them becoming best buddies.”

“Whitney provided excellent care of our dog and cat as well as our house! She was communicative during her stay and even willing to adjust plans when our flight got delayed. Thank you, Whitney!”

“We have had a lot of pet sitters over the years, and Anthony is the best we have ever had. He was attentive to our dogs' every need and gave us regular reports, sent pictures, and took our old hound to the vet, gave him medication, and then went back to the vet to get medicine for our other dog. The house looked great when we got home. He even washed the bedding he slept on”

“We have had a range of sitter experiences over the years from mediocre, good, to incredible and Sarah hands down is the best pet/house sitter we have truly ever had. Not only did she provide photos and detailed updates of the pets, she kept our house impeccably tidy to where it felt untouched coming home. From her daily updates it was very evident she treated our pets with love, genuine kindness, and was very engaged with their well being and activities while we were away. She was attentive to any changes in behavior our dog had due to fireworks and some anxiety which was incredibly reassuring knowing nothing was being shrugged off or looked over. Finding quality care can be hard to come by and Sarah sets the bar beyond measure. If you are able to book with Sarah consider yourself one of the lucky ones. Looking forward to future sits!!”

“Elizabeth is awesome!!! She communicated well and took great care of our boys! One of them is older and I worry about him but she was so sweet and made me feel at ease the entire weekend. Will definitely be using her again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone needing a sitter!”

“We love having Matt watch Lilly. She also loves when Matt comes to play with her, because she gets spoiled. He takes her on lots of walks and plays with her. We get lots of updates with pictures or videos.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Shannon! She followed our directions perfectly, making sure our dog felt comfortable and cared for. She even gave him lots of cuddles, which he loved. We found her to be reliable and trustworthy, and it was great to know our dog was in such good hands. Highly recommend!”

“Sarah took great care of our two cats and two dogs, as well as our house! Our animals really bonded with her. She was communicative, sent pictures, and asked clarifying questions so we felt confident our creatures were in good hands! We will definitely reach out again!”

“Jenna was great, arrived promptly.Communicated well. She took pictures, walked my teacups, gave them treats. I felt very comfortable leaving my teacup Yorkies w her. Would definitely ask her to pup sit again.”

“Kristen was right on time! We had a nice meet and greet with Bruno. She was very sweet and gentle with Bruno. He is timid because we just rescued him last year. We are working on him to trust her. Definitely will have her back.”

“Rachel was amazing! She was really sweet and easy to talk to. Nemo was extremely comfortable with her and we received tons of photos! Rachel also played a treat scavenger hunt around the apartment with Nemo which he loved. We will definitely be booking with her again.”

About: My pet sitting experience began 15 years ago when I was the neighborhood go-to for walking and feeding pets. That transitioned to in-home care experience in my neighborhood and beyond. My most valuable experiences comes from my own family dog. She had many quirks from being rescued, and from her I have ample of first hand experience on how to handle dogs that do not get along with other people or dogs. I am currently available 7 days a week, and am available from early morning to late night. I am currently between jobs and am flexible on care time and needs. I find joy in meeting your dog's needs- whether they have energy to burn or need cuddles on the couch, I aim to provide a caring and respectful presence for your dog. If staying in a client's home, I treat their space with respect and cleanliness.
About: I have experience working with dogs of all ages, l’m comfortable administering medications—I definitely have a soft spot for dogs with special needs! I have three dogs of my own and always travel with my smallest one, Meera, a 9lb chi mix who is very quiet and well behaved. I work at a doggie daycare four days a week so Friday through Sunday I’d be out of the house for about 8 hours a day. I am the lucky mama of three sweet rescue dogs named Jelly Bean, Frankie, and Meera. They are highly socialized due to the nature of my work and they join me for house sitting and pet care. A typical day includes frequent potty breaks/play sessions outside followed by low-energy training and relaxation, inside or out (weather dependent).

“Bailey was wonderful while we were away during fireworks weekend in Burlington VT. Our 7 year old black lab greyhound is an anxious boy and very skittish with the booms and the bangs. Bailey kept him calm and relaxed without all the meds we suggested merely with her own relaxed self and a bit of music playing in the background. We received updated texts and photos helping us not to worry, our boy has a new friend and we have an excellent sitter. Reach out to her, she’s communicative, reliable and personable. You’ll appreciate her as much as we did!”

“Beatrice was communicative and did a great job keeping my dog company while we were away. She has experience and seems well equipped to handle a range of situations. Would book her again in the future!”
“Anna was great!! Our dog seemed comfortable with Anna and Starbuck from the onset! Pictures showed a happy dog and the house looked great when we got home. Looking forward to having Anna and Starbuck here for another stay!!”

“Cate was absolutely amazing!!!! My husband and I were so nervous leaving our puppy at home for the first time. Cate was so kind, responsible and caring our minds were put at ease as soon as Cate arrived. She communicated throughout the weekend with pictures, videos, clarifying questions and more! She also accommodated a change in plans that required her to be on call an extra day for walks. Our dog seemed to enjoy her time with Cate and we are looking forward to being able to use Cate again! We highly recommend her”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Bolton
Sarah took such great care our house and two dogs for 4 nights. Our 6 year old golden had some stomach issues the days leading up to Sarah's stay and we felt we were leaving him in good hands. She handled his medicine and special diet perfectly and sent us daily updates with pictures. We have been looking for someone to stay with our dogs on vacations and we found our person. The dogs miss her already.

Kelsey was very thorough with her care of my dog Moshe. She was very experienced, knew right away how to connect and was a pleasure to communicate with. I would highly recommend her for anyone who is looking for a wonderful and caring Dog Sitter. I will be definitely reaching out to her again when I have additional dog sitting needs. 5 star for Kelsey!

Kelsey treated our girls like her own. She played with them outside in cold temperatures and knew when to bring them in if they got too cold. She sent us twice daily updates on how the day was going including photos. It brought peace of mind especially since this was our first time leaving our pups with someone other than family. She kept our house tidy and put or garbage cans to the curb for pick up which we appreciated.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bolton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bolton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bolton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
