About: I’m a 19‑year‑old Bio Veterinary Science student working towards becoming a vet, so animals have always been my whole world! Growing up on a small beef farm and around horses my whole life, I’ve cared for everything from dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and geckos to livestock. I’ve gained hands‑on experience in vet practices, horse yards and farms, and I share my home with three rescue dogs - in fact, nearly all the animals I’ve cared for have been rescues. This means I’m fully confident giving medication, providing extra medical care, and understanding every pet’s unique needs, whether they’re shy, senior, or just need a little extra patience. I currently work in hospitality, but let’s be honest, I always found people’s dogs far more interesting than the customers themselves! Reliable, kind, and ready to give your furry friend exactly the care they deserve. I’m a university student studying Bio‑Veterinary Science, living at home with my own rescue pets so I’m fully used to daily care! My timetable is very flexible, with many online lessons and small contact hours — I drive locally, so I can easily fit visits and walks around my studies, with plenty of free time to give your pet my full attention. I provide all care in your pet’s own familiar home, no stress, no new environments, just keeping their normal routine exactly as you leave it. As an lifelong rescue carer, I understand their health, body language and boundaries perfectly. I’ll feed, groom, play, and give them calm, one‑to‑one attention; I also send regular photo/video updates, keep the home secure, and go the extra mile with little extras like watering plants or taking bins out so you can travel fully worry‑free.

About: I’ve taken care of friends and families dogs over the years. I’ve been around animals all my life so am very comfortable with them and recognise the individuality of each animal. I have recently quit my corporate job so from mid-October will have a lot more time available to look after your pets! I will be totally flexible. I can care for your pets however you would like as I recognise each animal is individual and every owner has different preferences. I will always be loving and kind!

Gary was very accommodating to our request for a pre-meet before a drop in session next week. Within 2 minutes of being through the front door Percy was his best friend. Gary clearly knows a lot about dogs and is very experienced with them. He was flexible with what we ask and attentive to what Percy would need while we are away. Highly recommend! Thank you again for coming over and I’m sure Percy is looking forward to seeing you again next week.

About: As a dedicated dog mum myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your pet. I’ve always been around dogs and genuinely love caring for them, whether that’s long walks, playtime, cuddles, or sticking to their usual routine so they feel safe and comfortable. I’m patient, attentive, and treat every dog like they’re part of the family. I know every pup has their own personality and needs, and I’m happy to adapt to make sure they feel happy, relaxed, and well cared for while you’re away. Regular updates, photos, and lots of love are always included! I work from home twice per week however my office is dog friendly and huge / open plan . I spend weekends on walks and in the outdoors mainly. I have a garden outside front and back so plenty of space to run around. Dogs can enjoy my house as they please, no rules about them being on the sofa :)

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. I’ve grown up with dogs and currently have a wonderful 15 year old Bichon Frise as my family dog, as well as my own sweet-natured 2 year old Red Fox Labrador Retriever. I also regularly look after two other Labradors the mother and brother of my own dog giving me experience with dogs of different ages, personalities, and needs. Whether it’s providing fun and stimulating walks, tailoring exercise to suit each dog’s individual requirements, or making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for, I always treat every dog as if they were my own. As a qualified first aider, I’m prepared to handle unexpected situations with confidence and care, giving owners extra peace of mind. I offer dog walking and care alongside my regular job because it’s something I’m truly passionate about, and my long-term dream is to open my own doggy daycare. I can’t wait to meet your furry friends and give them the love, attention, and care they deserve! Pet care is a big part of my daily and weekly routine. I have my own 2-year-old Red Fox Labrador Retriever, who I take out for two walks every day, making sure he gets plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and time to explore. As I work part-time, I dedicate my days off to doing what I love most—spending quality time with dogs. I enjoy discovering new walking routes, taking my Labrador on exciting adventures, and giving him enriching experiences. Caring for dogs is something I’m truly passionate about, and I love providing them with fun, safe, and engaging walks that are tailored to their individual needs. I believe every dog is unique, which is why I take the time to get to know each one and build a trusting relationship over time. By understanding their personality, routine, and individual needs, I can tailor my care to ensure they feel comfortable, happy, and well looked after. Whether it’s adapting walks to suit their energy levels, providing plenty of reassurance, or following their usual routine, I always put their wellbeing first. I’m also committed to continually expanding my knowledge by completing courses in my spare time to learn more about different dog breeds, their specific needs, and their temperaments. This helps me provide the highest standard of care and ensures every dog receives the attention and support that’s right for them.

About: While I’m new to Rover , I have owned and cared for dogs and other animals all my life . I’ve had hands on experience with different size dogs and personalities and bring a calm environment to ensure they feel cared for.I have had different breeds of dogs but currently own a frenchie and a pug . I have cared for Kevin an outdoor cat for the last 15 years . I live in a rural area with a nine acre paddock which is perfect for walks , but am equally happy to walk local parks and I daily walk Tatton park . I have cared for my own senior dogs and know the worries leaving a senior dog can cause. Happy to offer flexible care for your pets. I’m current retired and looking for something interesting and fun to fill my day. I’m a very organised and capable person, and can make myself available when needed. I’m happy to walk where owners recommend but can also offer a 9 acre paddock for them to walk in. Transportation would be via a seatbelt harness, to ensure full safety.

It was an absolute pleasure dealing with Lauren for the care of my two BSH kittens. I had regular updates and cute pictures of all of Lauren’s visits. They looked very happy in her company and were in great health and spirits upon my return. I hope to use Lauren as my regular cat sitter going forward.

I’m work from home and I am therefore here pretty much 24/7 so other than a couple of hours every other day I am here. 2nd time we have used Mia and she did a great job. One of my cats is incredibly nervous of people he doesn’t know, yet he warmed to her easily. She took great care of the pets and was kind enough to bring our mail in / draw the curtains for us - she went above and beyond and I’d highly recommend her.

I highly recommend Angela, as she took such great care of my two pets (1 cat, 1 dog) whilst I was away for 2 weeks over the Christmas period. From the start, I appreciated the time Angela took to get to know them beforehand, with the bonus of coming on a walk with me with my dog to be fully prepared. With my cat being a Bengal (who needs a lot of attention), and my dog being reactive to other dogs (due to a trauma event) - Angela handled both really well, and reassured me with her daily check ins. It was the longest I had left them, but I had no need to worry - and came back to two very happy animals! Thanks again Angela :)

About: I have experience with all sorts of animals including dogs, cats, reptiles, small mammals, birds, insects, and exotics. I aim to help those who don’t have time to care for their animals 24/7 and to keep animals stimulated and happy. I even have a pet service business outside of rover if anyone’s interested. It’s aimed at people who can’t afford expensive pet care. I am reliable and friendly. I sympathise with pet owners who have struggles and I am flexible with what I do. I am currently unable to work so I have plenty of time to keep pets company. I love animals and love helping people with their pets. I own a border collie cross spaniel named poppadom, she would love to accompany me on my journeys but don’t worry if your dog is unable to have company then of course I will leave her at home. Any animal that comes into my care will be treated like my own.

Yes, absolutely! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Cheshire East pet parents with similar pet households.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cheshire East choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
