“Gary was very accommodating to our request for a pre-meet before a drop in session next week. Within 2 minutes of being through the front door Percy was his best friend. Gary clearly knows a lot about dogs and is very experienced with them. He was flexible with what we ask and attentive to what Percy would need while we are away. Highly recommend! Thank you again for coming over and I’m sure Percy is looking forward to seeing you again next week.”

About: I’m a 19‑year‑old Bio Veterinary Science student working towards becoming a vet, so animals have always been my whole world! Growing up on a small beef farm and around horses my whole life, I’ve cared for everything from dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and geckos to livestock. I’ve gained hands‑on experience in vet practices, horse yards and farms, and I share my home with three rescue dogs - in fact, nearly all the animals I’ve cared for have been rescues. This means I’m fully confident giving medication, providing extra medical care, and understanding every pet’s unique needs, whether they’re shy, senior, or just need a little extra patience. I currently work in hospitality, but let’s be honest, I always found people’s dogs far more interesting than the customers themselves! Reliable, kind, and ready to give your furry friend exactly the care they deserve. I’m a university student studying Bio‑Veterinary Science, living at home with my own rescue pets so I’m fully used to daily care! My timetable is very flexible, with many online lessons and small contact hours — I drive locally, so I can easily fit visits and walks around my studies, with plenty of free time to give your pet my full attention. I provide all care in your pet’s own familiar home, no stress, no new environments, just keeping their normal routine exactly as you leave it. As an lifelong rescue carer, I understand their health, body language and boundaries perfectly. I’ll feed, groom, play, and give them calm, one‑to‑one attention; I also send regular photo/video updates, keep the home secure, and go the extra mile with little extras like watering plants or taking bins out so you can travel fully worry‑free.
About: I’m very experienced and confident with puppies and dogs of all ages and breeds. I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life, and my husband has too. We currently own a miniature dachshund and a flat-coated retriever, so caring for dogs is a natural part of our everyday life. I work from home, which means your dog will never be left alone and will enjoy company throughout the day. They’ll fit right into our family routine—joining our dogs on daily walks, relaxing indoors, enjoying playtime, and receiving plenty of love and attention. Your dog will be treated as part of the family in a safe, calm, and loving home. We have a secure garden for outdoor play and toileting, and your dog will benefit from social time with our friendly dogs. You can trust they’ll be cared for as if they were our own.
About: I’ve taken care of friends and families dogs over the years. I’ve been around animals all my life so am very comfortable with them and recognise the individuality of each animal. I have recently quit my corporate job so from mid-October will have a lot more time available to look after your pets! I will be totally flexible. I can care for your pets however you would like as I recognise each animal is individual and every owner has different preferences. I will always be loving and kind!
About: As a dog owner myself I understand the worry about leaving your pets for a long period and always go above and beyond to provide the very best cat your your pet. I work full time but I am available to work any evenings and fully free at the weekend. I can drive so happy to travel. I am reliable and responsible and happy to follow steps that you would do day to day. I will always ensure that everything is well looked after.
“Kerri is a fantastic cat sitter. She sent me lots of updates and photos so I was assured that my cat was getting the best care possible when I was away. I would absolutely recommend- thanks again Kerri!”

“We couldn't thank Olivia enough for the fantastic job she did looking after the cats. I have never had anyone other than family or friends look after the cats for me so was a little nervous getting someone externally in. Olivia visited me before the booking to discuss the care plan and to meet the cats and this helped put my mind at ease. Olivia did a great job of keeping me updated with daily photos of the cats and how they were which I loved receiving. When we go away again I will definitely be booking with Olivia again and would highly recommend her.xx”

About: As a dedicated dog mum myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your pet. I’ve always been around dogs and genuinely love caring for them, whether that’s long walks, playtime, cuddles, or sticking to their usual routine so they feel safe and comfortable. I’m patient, attentive, and treat every dog like they’re part of the family. I know every pup has their own personality and needs, and I’m happy to adapt to make sure they feel happy, relaxed, and well cared for while you’re away. Regular updates, photos, and lots of love are always included! I work from home twice per week however my office is dog friendly and huge / open plan . I spend weekends on walks and in the outdoors mainly. I have a garden outside front and back so plenty of space to run around. Dogs can enjoy my house as they please, no rules about them being on the sofa :)
About: Hi, I’m Lauren! Dogs have been a constant part of my life since childhood, and caring for them has always been a true passion within our family. What started as simply loving and helping friends’ and neighbours’ pets has naturally grown into a small, family-run business — not driven by money, but by the joy I get from spending my days with dogs. For me, the care and wellbeing of each animal is at the very heart of what I do. Growing up with many different breeds has given me a deep, practical understanding of their exercise needs, common health conditions, temperaments, and unique behavioural traits. This awareness helps me provide safer, more thoughtful and attentive care, recognising the small signs and routines that matter to each dog. 🏡 Our Home & Family Environment Your dog will be welcomed into a warm, relaxed family home with: A secure, fully enclosed garden for safe play and exploring A calm local area perfect for regular walks A household where every family member plays a loving role A genuine “home-from-home” atmosphere where your dog becomes part of our families daily life I treat every dog like one of my own, offering comfort, routine, and companionship throughout the day. 🐶 What I Offer Home boarding (overnight or daytime) Doggy day care Local dog walks Pop-in visits Support for feeding routines, medication reminders, senior dogs, and dogs with specific needs Everything I do is personalised — because no two dogs are the same, and each one deserves care that fits them perfectly. 💛 My Approach & Values I am proud that my passion for dogs has become a small, heart-centred family business. The well-being of every animal is my priority, and my goal is always to create a safe, loving, and understanding environment. You’ll receive plenty of updates, photos, and videos, so you always feel connected and reassured. I feel incredibly lucky to do something we genuinely love every day, and can’t wait to welcome your four-legged family member into our home. 🐾 Pet care is naturally woven into our everyday family life — it’s something we’ve always done, long before we ever offered it as a service. Because dogs have been part of our home for so many years, our routine already revolves around walks, playtime, feeding schedules, and plenty of affection. Caring for dogs doesn’t feel like an added task for us; it simply fits into the rhythm of our family. We structure our days so that there is always someone at home to provide company, supervision, and comfort. Morning and evening walks are part of our normal routine, and throughout the day the dogs enjoy time in our secure garden, relaxed indoor time with the family, and lots of interaction, cuddles, and enrichment. Weekends are just as dog-friendly — we often enjoy longer walks, local adventures, or quiet downtime depending on each dog’s needs. Because this is a genuine passion for us, pet care blends naturally into our lifestyle, ensuring every dog gets consistent love, attention, and stability throughout the day. In our home, pets are welcomed as part of the family. We create a calm, loving, and structured environment where each dog’s individual needs are respected. We follow their normal routines as closely as possible — from feeding times and walk schedules to sleeping arrangements and any comfort habits they have. Our secure, enclosed garden allows for safe outdoor play, while indoors they enjoy company, enrichment, and plenty of affection throughout the day. We make sure no dog is ever left alone for long periods, ensuring constant supervision and companionship. If we’re caring for a dog in the owner’s home, we maintain the same level of respect, consistency, and personalised care. We stick carefully to the dog’s usual routine, keep the environment tidy and calm, and provide regular walks, interaction, and updates so owners feel completely at ease. We’re attentive to each dog’s behaviour, health needs, and comfort levels, and we adapt our care to suit their personality — whether they’re energetic, anxious, playful, or more relaxed. No matter where we’re caring for a dog, our approach is always the same: gentle, knowledgeable, and centred on the dog’s wellbeing. Our family’s passion means we go above and beyond to ensure every dog feels safe, loved, and looked after just as they would at home.
“It was an absolute pleasure dealing with Lauren for the care of my two BSH kittens. I had regular updates and cute pictures of all of Lauren’s visits. They looked very happy in her company and were in great health and spirits upon my return. I hope to use Lauren as my regular cat sitter going forward.”

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
