“The one of the best dog sitters I’ve ever had. Milly went above and beyond with walking distance, cute pictures of my boys, made sure they had extra water, brought her own treats and left a sweet note/goody bag on her last drop-in. Maverick and Milo absolutely loved her and special requested her for my next trip!”

“Maia has been such a great help with Zoey. She is very attentive and responds quickly! She’s flexible and accommodating to my ever changing schedule. I would recommend her to anyone!”

“Susan was polite, respectful, and took great care of Duck! Our kitten is a bit rambunctious and kicked litter out of the box and knocked over her automatic feeder in between visits. Susan cleaned everything up with no complaints or hesitation!”

“Stephene provided great care you my doggos and has rich medical experience to handle diabetic and blind pupper. Super thankful for her time and that we found her!”

“As far as I can tell, everything went really well. Sara texted me after each drop-in visit to let me know how things were going. She sent photos of one of our dogs (the other was probably hiding under the bed most of the time she was here.) From her description of the visit, Sara was flexible in working with our dogs. She followed the instructions I left. Will be contacting her again.”
“Lilly was wonderful. We had an emergency and needed someone to stop in and check on our babies, feed and let out to use potty and Lilly not only came to the rescue but was so communicative regarding our requests, was thorough, sent photos through the app, and asked questions if she was uncertain. Thank you so much, Lilly!! We look forward to using you again in future needs!”

About: We have been Volunteers (Beagle Freedom Project, Midwest BREW and New Mexico Beagle Rescue) and Pet Sitters for over 14 years and LOVE all animals. With several Rescued Beagles of our own, we enjoy meeting and caring for any and all breeds of dogs and cats, etc. Carol has worked for an Animal Hospital and can administer injections when necessary. As Retirees, we have plenty of time to stay overnight at your home and make one or two visits during the day. Your pets will never been alone for more than four hours. Potty breaks, play time or just relaxing on a couch with a human by their side are all part of a normal day. We are unable to care for pets in our home due to community HOA restrictions. But we would love to take care of your fur babies in their own comfortable surroundings!
About: I have had pets my entire life and have been a pet parent since 1995. I've had the privilege of having both dogs and cats in our home. And I have also previously pet sat for birds and the occassional pot-bellied pig. I have previously given both cats and dogs oral meds (both liquid and pill form), injectable meds and subcutaneous fluids when needed. With our family pets I have experienced puppy & kittenhood all the way through the elder years. So I am well versed on the needs for each individual age. I do work, but I have a flexible schedule that allows me time during the day and night to take care of your furry kiddos. Whether that entails walks, pop in visits or overnight stays... my goal is to help your fur babies stay happy and calm while you are away. At this point I only offer sitting in your home as my two kitty kiddos tend to be skittish with new faces human or animal. I would never want to stress them out and/or add any stress to your pets.
About: I have 2 dogs of my own, a cane corso and a French bulldog. I am a Loving, gentle yet firm caregiver. I treat my pets as family! I am currently a teacher and can do morning and evening drop in visits during the week. On weekends and In the summer months I can do full time. I have a fenced in yard and can crate your dog if needed. I have two dogs of my own. Experience with large and small dogs.
“Lauren took great care of our cats, hamster, and fish and took great pictures during her stay. The cats look like they had a great time with her and we could rest easy during our vacation (:”

“Anais was very communicative, gave good feedback, took care of my fur babies, and did exactly what I asked of her. I willl definitely be rebooking in the future!! Thank you so much!”

“It was so nice to have Raina take care of Kino while we were on vacation! I highly recommend her. She is very professional and genuinely cares about the animals in her charge. I will definitely book her again!”

About: I have been a Kennel technician for 3 years. and have worked on a farm my whole life. I currently work at an animal shelter. I have experience working with cats and dogs, big or small. young or old I can work with them all. I'm currently in school to earn my degree in behavior and health. I work part-time at the shelter on Saturdays and Sundays, 8 am to 6:30 pm. However, I am home the rest of the week, focusing on school. I have 3 cats and one dog of my own. My cats are spoiled and have their own room, so if I watch cats in my house, they will have their own safe place. My dog is super dog-friendly and loves to go on outdoor adventures. I am very into working with dogs and love to get them exercised.
About: I’ve had a dog ever since I was 5 and successfully raised 3 dogs from puppyhood to senior status. Furthermore, I have extensive experience working with cats with complex needs and disabilities. I’ve been professionally pet sitting since I was 12 and have done drop ins, in my home and overnighters for several years. I also use to work for a dog boarding and grooming (Spoil Em Rotten). So if you want your pup to be pampered I can offer additional services. I do work full-time M-F 9am-4:30pm (Remote 2-3 days a week). My routine in the mornings is to feed, walk and play with kiddos before I start/leave for work. And then in the evening we go for a longer walk if weather permits, eat and snuggle on the couch and watch a movie. My weekends are fairly mellow with at least two daily walks and free run in the backyard. In my home I would work to address the needs of the pet and any safety measures that may need to be taken. Any dogs brought to my home would have free roam of the house when myself or my husband is home and can supervised. Your dogs would be welcomed to play mine and they would be treated like my own. If yours is a puppy or under the age of one would be crated while we are away, asleep or unable to supervise. We do request all pups come with their own crate if requested, we only crate older pups when we are away for their own safety. Only under some circumstances do we leave a pup out or uncrated while away. Owner should provide food bowls, leash and collar, food (bring extra if you are flying), any medication, anything that helps keep your fur baby calm and crate if requested.

About: I love caring for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I grew up with a sweet black lab named Jessie, and those 13 years taught me everything about feeding, walking, playing, and giving pets the love they deserve. After she passed, I realized how much joy animals bring and I’ve been caring for pets ever since. Along with my own experience, I’ve helped neighbors, friends, and Rover clients with walks, drop‑ins, house sitting, and playtime. Every visit has been a joy! I’m a college graduate with a BA in Human Service Studies and currently work in government contracting. I’ll treat your pets with the same kindness, patience, and affection I gave Jessie - making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I currently work full-time during the week, but have weekend flexibility and some lunchtime/evening flexibility on the weekdays depending on my schedule and our locations. I travel occasionally for work or to visit family, but I will block those dates out in my calendar as soon as they're scheduled. Overall, I will do my best to fit your needs! A safe environment is crucial! Steps that I take to create that include: ensuring the dog is leashed before going outside, unless there is a fenced yard that the client has approved us to go in. Listening to the client's requests and fully understanding the dog's/cat's personality. Asking important questions such as "how does the pet interact with other people or pets?". Providing the right amount of food, plenty of water, and administering any prescribed medications.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
