About: I live in Hercules (East Bay) and only do IN HOME CARE for dogs and sometimes cats. I've found there is less stress if they stay in their own familiar surroundings with your smells; especially if they are blind or deaf or have elderly med needs.. I also give medications and understand senior dog needs. My small Chihuahua SOPHIE comes with me and gets along with everyone. I am semi-retired and will attend to all your instructions, sleep with your baby if that is what is required. I specialize in small dogs but will consider anything, especially if you are in a bind and need someone ASAP. Call me and let's discuss your needs! Thank you. I'm semi-retired and usually available. I am happy to take your dog to dog parks. Sophie and I go on long walks everyday, sometimes twice. We are active. We will follow your schedule. I've great references for in-home care which is all I do now. I also keep the house clean and will do laundry or other needs while I am there. Long or short stays, just let me know what you need. I've background checks that are stellar, never any incident. I am a professional.

About: I’ve been caring for my family rescue pitbull for 10 years. This experience has provided me experience with bigger dogs, senior dogs, and dogs that are reactive and prefer to avoid other dogs on walks. Dogs and cats bring me immense joy, and my goal is to be such love and care to the pets, but also respect to the pet and their owners. Looking forward to working with you all! I’m currently a master’s student, who has a few days off a week! My schedule will become even more free with my academic winter and summer break! I can check on your pets in the am, mid day, and evening! While taking care of pets in others homes, I will be sure to respect the owner's boundaries. I will never touch anything in the house that is off limits. I will be attentive with your dogs needs and give them love.

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and personalities for 15 years. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, play with, and care for their pets while away. I’m patient, attentive, active, and genuinely love animals. I understand the importance of making pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I love taking dogs on hikes and to the beach as well. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to your pets. I’m available for dog walking, drop-in visits, and pet sitting throughout the week and on weekends. I enjoy staying active, spending time outdoors, and making sure pets get the care, attention, exercise, and companionship they need to feel happy and comfortable. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I provide a calm, loving, and attentive environment and always follow the owner’s instructions carefully regarding feeding, routines, medications, walks, and special care needs. I pay close attention to pets’ behavior and body language to ensure they feel safe, secure, and well cared for at all times.

About: I have been in the animal world since 2017 with my first job being at an animal shelter. In 2024 I graduated from a university to earn my bachelor's degree in canine science to further my knowledge and skill. I absolutely love dogs and all animals; I treat them with the same respect I would another person. I specialize in reward based training (positive reinforcement), dog body language, and behavior. Dog training should be fun for you and the dog. Positive reinforcement is the best way to train because it helps build better bonds between the pet parent and the dog, as well as teach important behaviors and discourage and substitute unwanted behaviors. In my care, your dog(s) will be treated as a part of the family. My main goal is to keep your pup(s) happy, calm, exercised; this should feel like their home away from home. I currently am working home full time for the business, from dog training to grooming to walking to daycare & boarding, we are here for you! There will always be someone here to keep an eye on your pup(s), when I leave my partner is here to help out. We are open everyday. The pups are always treated like my own. When staying over, they keep company with me and my dogs. We are always watching the dogs and making sure they are safe and comfortable. If I am going to your place I will always treat your place with respect.

About: I’ve kind of built my routine around pet care at this point. I’m very intentional about keeping things consistent: feedings, walks, meds, all of it because I know how much that matters to them. And I make time for the in-between moments too like just hanging out so they feel comfortable and not like I’m just passing through. I’ve kind of built my routine around pet care at this point. I’m very intentional about keeping things consistent: feedings, walks, meds, all of it because I know how much that matters to them. And I make time for the in between moments too like just hanging out so they feel comfortable and not like I’m just passing through. I focus a lot on creating a calm, secure environment where pets feel safe and can relax. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and follow all instructions closely to keep things consistent and low stress. In my home, I make sure the space is clean, pet safe, and set up so each pet has room to settle in comfortably. I’m very mindful of things like secure doors, safe interactions, and keeping a close eye on behavior to prevent any issues before they happen. Building trust is a big part of my approach, both with pets and their owners, so I prioritize clear communication and dependable care throughout the stay.

Emma is very punctual, flexible with her schedule, and easy to communicate with. My dog is high energy and anxiety, she’s not trusting of new ppl and is very vocal. Two walks later, she’s Emma’s best friend. I appreciate Emma’s calm energy. She lets dogs go to her and doesn’t force any affection onto them while being attentive and sweet. She walks my dog twice a week and she will be boarding with her soon. Highly recommend.

About: I have had pets all my life and have a special way with many animals. From tiring out restless pups through play so they can settle in their doghouses, to gaining the trust of the sassiest cats, my patience and kindness towards all animals has gained me the favor of friends and family to care for their pets. I am currently a full time student, so my availability throughout the week can vary. Despite this I find myself to have my afternoons and evenings mostly free. Additionally, my weekends will be free most weeks. In a cliients home, I would do my best to respect the environment and the pets space. Not surprising the pet or adjusting things from their usual place, like food or water bowls, to show I am not here to change pet routines but just to help them along. Additionally, gaining trust on walks and setting firm boundaries with the pet to keep myself and the pet safe when out and about.

I still need to get my key back from Angela. I had asked her to contact me and set up a summary meeting on how Cooper did while I was gone, and we missed communicating with each other. She still had two dog walks scheduled when I got home, and we have not been able to communicate with each other to set up the summary meeting. I was using one walk for the summary. Can you please let me know how to get my key back since the days I had scheduled the walks were several days ago now. Thank you.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 11,218 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Tormey. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Tormey. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Tormey.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Tormey. On Rover:

  • 91% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
