“Justine did an outstanding job. We were nervous about leaving Marley with a stranger but they bonded immediately. The daily updates and photos gave us the reassurance we needed to relax and enjoy our vacation. Thank you very much!”

“Amazing experience, will definitely use again! Quick response when booking and able to arrange same day visit. Very flexible and feels comfortable giving pet medication which is quite helpful.”

About: I have years of experience caring for pets of every kind. I've dog sat and cared for cats and dogs many times for friends over the years. I have three cats of my own I care for daily. I feed, brush, play with them, and provide them with veterinary care. I am available for regular check-ins daily, providing walks, playtime, feeding, etc. I am available Sunday, but only after 12pm. I am available early afternoon 11am-4pm and late evening 6-11pm Unfortunately at this time I do not have the space or luxury of providing boarding for pets as I live with other pets and people. I want your pets to feel most comfortable and safe in their own space. I am more than willing to learn all their wants and needs, all the special things they love about their space and home to give them the best and most comfortable care for them.

“My 3dogs love Hannah she was very confident going into this job I have a 3 legged dog that is very picky who he lets in our house and she won him over She is great sitter Would highly recommend her Super sweet gal”

About: I’ve been around animals all my life and feel very comfortable with them. Growing up, I would help with caring for the family pets. I would clean up after them, walk them, feed/water them, kennel train/potty train, and play with them. I’ve grown up with mostly cats and dogs, but I am not opposed to caring for other pets. I am very much of an animal lover but currently don’t have a pet of my own, so I would love to be the caretaker of one of your sweet pets! I am a full-time stay at home mom. My schedule can be very flexible. I have a 1 year old who takes two naps a day which allows me to give appropriate care and attention to the pets that are in my care. I live in two story home with a fenced in backyard. A park is right down the street as well were people walk their dogs all the time. I live in a very pet friendly neighborhood. :)
“Emily is the finest dog sitter we’ve ever had and that is over the last 50 years. She is prompt, efficient, creative, has excellent communications, and most of all loves and cares for each dog individually!!!”

About: I'm a health care worker who will put your pet's safety first! Friends and family rely on me to take care of their dogs while they're away on trips. If your pet needs medicine or special care, I pay careful attention to instructions & make sure your pet is happy & healthy! I'm a phlebotomist by day, so I can take care of your pet in the mornings & evenings! I am a very active person, & will spend quality time with & actually play with your pet -- not just sit around with them. I am more than happy to watch your pet in your own home. I make sure your pet is happy, & treat them like my own.
“Great to work with! Easy to communicate with, flexible and quick to respond. She was able to mix my pets pain medication capsule into purée and get him to eat it during the time I was gone. Nice to know he is being well taken care of while I am away.”

“Cannot say enough good things. She goes above and beyond to make sure my pups are comfortable. Constant communication and updates… she takes better pictures of them than I do! 😂 I come home to tired and very well taken care of dogs. So grateful to have her to look after them when I’m away.”
“Nadia was friendly, responsive and very helpful. She loves animals and goes out of her way to make your pets happy and comfortable during visits. Her communication when setting up visits and after each visit was great!”
“Haleigh was awesome! I loved getting all the check in messages and pictures. It kept my mind at ease knowing she was taking good care of my babies. I plan on using Haleigh in the future.”

“Kelby is a real pro and took amazing care of our kitties! She was very communicative and the daily updates gave us peace of mind that our cats were in good hands while we were out of town. We will 100% be reaching out to her the next time we need a cat sitter. Thank you, Kelby!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Topeka
Lydia was so kind and took excellent care of our two cats, Blackberry and Baby Jane, while we were out. We had last minute issues with our litter box robot and she brought inside a big box that got shipped and had the replacement litter box, despite not needing too. She also cleaned up the the cat bowls and sent us pictures of the stray cats that we feed. Would absolutely recommend her and would love if she took care of our cats in the future.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Topeka. On Rover:
- 85% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 89% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
