This is my number 2 priority after my own pack of critters. I intentionally schedule in plenty of time so yours are taken care of and tongue-out-happy! For House sitting visits, I try to include at least 1 special outing to a public park, where your pup can smell all new smells and unwind from routine. Then I'll add a little spa at the end of the day, to get ready for bed (I wipe their paws, brush them and apply coconut oil to their pads and nose). For Sitting AND walking, play time is a must, as long as a safe enclosed environment is provided.

I try to give trauma informed care, which means I cater the visit to your pets needs and what they're comfortable with, so that we can build a trusting relationship. After that, improvement and success is a piece of cake. Give time for pups and kits to get used to having me around... There might be a lot of bribing, but mostly trust that I will listen to our fur friend's body language as they communicate how to approach them.

Let me know all the details that would make our playdate successful and safe. Allergies, medical needs, behaviours, quirks, triggers, etc. I have no breed preference or restrictions. I know there is a bad rap for certain breeds, but rest assured, I don't subscribe to that nonsense. To be safe, the only thing I limit is the number of dogs I can walk at a time depending on their size.
A typical day
I want to make sure I return your dog ready for a nap. They will get physical and mental stimulation by high energy and interactive play such as: catch, tug-a-war, kong/puzzle toy sessions, long walks (if possible), and as many treats as necessary. Then, when they're ready to settle down for bed, if I'm house sitting for you, they get as many cuddles and belly rubs as they can stand before retiring to dream land!

Pet care experience
I've had dog shaped besties since I learned to walk. They taught me how to love unconditionally, and it made animal care and advocacy my calling. I was studying veterinary medicine before I moved to Topeka, and recently I decided to take animal care back up. I also volunteer at the humane society, so I can spread that passion as wide as this community lets me. I especially love to take on the challenging cases. I have 2 pibbles, and a husky mix, so you can say I like a challenge. Be it from the bad rap their breeds carry, to actual problem behavior that needs to be adjusted, to me there is no lost cause! I dream of tails wagging and goofy tongues out as far as the eye can see!

Rosie is amazing! She took such good care of my girl and worked much harder than she had to to gain her trust. She sent tons of pictures, had excellent communication and kept me updated the whole week. My dog is not an easy one but she handled her like a pro!
Rosie was fantastic with my girl who takes a while to warm up. She went above and beyond what she had to to make sure my pup was comfortable. Highly recommend!!
Rosie is organized and pays attention to details, which has been great taking care of all of the fur babies. She treats each one with love as if they are her pets.
