About: I’ve grown up with dogs and caring for them has always been second nature to me. I often watch my friends’ pets when they travel, and I really enjoy walks, playtime, and making sure dogs feel safe and loved while their owners are away. I already have a pretty consistent routine with work and daily life, so I plan pet care around that. I’m flexible with mornings, evenings, and weekends, and I make sure I always have enough time to properly care for each pet. In a client’s home, I follow their instructions closely to keep pets comfortable in their familiar environment. I handle feeding, fresh water, walks or litter box cleaning, playtime, and any special care needs, while also keeping the home tidy and secure

“Nadia respects that all pets and pet owners are different and she goes out of her way to make sure my cats have a great experience! From the initial consultation when she asks all the right questions to cover any specific needs any of my cats might have, to the drop-ins where she gives all four of my cats attention, not just the two who need care, to the follow-up messages and photos I get after each visit.”

About: Since childhood, I have enjoyed the companionship of dogs. The first family pet I knew for nearly its entire lifetime was our rescue beagle my family adopted when I was about 8 years old. I have pet sat in the past, both overnight/in-home sitting, in addition to drop in visits to feed and let dogs outside for potty time. I have experience caring for senior pets, adults and puppies. I am available to care for your pets during weekday late mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends, and for overnight stays with your pet(s) as well. I am comfortable crating dogs if necessary and I have some experience caring for dogs with special needs, more specifically senior dogs that have mobility challenges.

I’m patient with shy or anxious animals and calm in unexpected situations. My schedule is structured by flexible. I have set class, teaching, and research hours each week which makes it easy to plan reliable visits around them. I’m available weekday mornings and evenings and am flexible for midday walks. “Terra was amazing! We found her on Rover somewhat last minute after some issues with our other sitter, and I am so glad we did! Terra was so flexible when we had to make some last minute changes to her care schedule due to our kitty, Nickel, coming down with a UTI the morning we were leaving for vacation. Terra proceeded to take such great care of Nickel. She kept us regularly updated about how Nickel was doing, and sent pictures, which were so comforting to see. Nickel was not so sure about taking his meds from a new person, but Terra did a great job working with him and trying different strategies to help him. All-in-all, Terra went above and beyond in so many ways, and we feel so fortunate that our little guy was in her care. We definitely highly recommend, Terra!”

About: I come from a farm happy family and managed a doggy daycare, with extensive work in animal rescue. I have dealt with just about any animal you can imagine. Dogs, cats, horses, goats, guinea pigs, fish, snakes, birds, etc. Both of my pets have passed away but I have more love to give. I love animals and am just looking to fill some of my free time and earn a little extra cash. My lab has since passed due to old age in 2019 and I said goodbye to my golden in July 2025. I do work M-F and would be out of the home from roughly 7:15-5:00pm depending on your location, my office is near the state capitol. I work full time for a nonprofit in Topeka, so I am out of the house from 715am-5pm. I love going on walks and being outside before and after work! On the weekends aside from some errands I would be around. I do have the ability to work remotely as needed, so this is an option if your pet(s) need more time and attention. I take animal safety very seriously, especially after managing a doggy daycare, things can be unpredictable. I take extreme caution, and pay attention to all the signs your pet is giving me along with your requests to ensure they have a fun, safe time while in my care.

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and currently share my home with two dogs and two cats who are truly part of the family. I have years of experience caring for friends’ and family members’ pets and homes, and I love making every animal feel safe, loved, and comfortable while their humans are away. Whether they’re snuggling on the couch or playing outside, I’m happiest when animals feel like their owners never left! I’m available at all times, and caring for your pets and home is my top priority. I never rush time with them — I make sure they get the attention, routine, and gentle care they need to feel safe and relaxed. Your animals will be treated with patience, love, and the same dedication I give my own. I treat every home with the same care and respect as my own. You can trust that your space will be kept clean, safe, and exactly as you left it. My priority is making sure your pets feel secure, loved, and completely at home while you’re away. Their safety, routine, and comfort always come first.

About: I have grown up with animals of all kinds young and old. I was a volunteer at an animal shelter and humane society where I fostered bunnies and I was a camp counselor showing kids how to properly interact with animals (including reptiles). I have experience in pet sitting for 6 years for friends and family. I also worked on a dairy farm for 3 years where I would care for cows and all the other barnyard animals that guests would come to visit. I have had dogs, cats, critters, reptiles and farm animals throughout my life. Currently I have 2 Maine Coons, Simba and Kiara and I have a bearded dragon, Tad Cooper. My main concern is your animals health and happiness as well as communication with you. I have recently moved here with my husband and don’t have a current job so I am available most requested dates and time to fit into your schedule. My priority is making sure you and your pets feel safe and comfortable. I strive to make a connection with each animal to provide care. I will also take care of the simple tasks if requested such as receiving mail, taking out the trash and vacuuming to keep your house a clean environment for you and you pets.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
