About: I’ve been a lifelong animal lover and have been caring for pets since childhood. I grew up with both cats and dogs, including a Maltese, and currently share my home with an Australian Shepherd–Brittany Spaniel mix and my cat Josie. I have rescued two former outdoor/stray cats who I named Mabel and Astrid. One lives with my Grandpa while the other was given to my cousin! My favorite side-quests are animal rescuing! 😄 Alongside this, I’ve raised puppies and kittens of all ages, cared for senior pets, given medication, and even rescued a squirrel once (my ultimate side quest!). As said, I’ve occasionally helped strays by feeding and socializing them over the years, which has taught me patience, gentleness, and how to read animal body language. Professionally, I work in the behavioral health field, with over five years in Applied Behavioral Analysis as a behavior tech and a year as a mental health therapist student. I naturally apply those skills when working with animals by reading into the “unsaid.” Whether that is helping an anxious dog feel safe, reinforcing positive behaviors, or calmly navigating new environments, I am ready! I understand that pets are family. I prioritize safety, consistency, and clear communication so you can feel fully at ease while your pet is in my care. Whether your pet needs playtime, structure, cuddles, or space, I’m attentive to their individual personality and needs, and I genuinely love making sure every furry friend feels happy and understood. I am available to provide pet care services anytime between May 12 and July 12, 2026. During this period, I can accommodate flexible schedules and multiple visits per week, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings. I prioritize consistency and routine for pets, ensuring they receive regular feeding, exercise, and attention. After July 13, 2026, I will be working full-time and will only be able to accept a limited number of clients for very minimal days, so I plan to carefully manage my schedule to maintain high-quality care and attention for each pet. I prioritize safety, trust, and a positive environment for every pet in my care. I ensure secure spaces, supervise playtime, and maintain a calm and structured routine. I tailor care to each pet’s individual personality and needs, whether that means cuddles, exercise, or quiet time. I am attentive to subtle behavioral cues and changes, thanks to my background in behavioral health, and I always communicate clearly with pet owners to ensure they feel confident and comfortable with my care.

About: I've been working in the dog care industry for at least 10 years! Certified through Animal Behavior College,(abcdt) 2014 and the Council of professional dog trainers (ccpdt) since 2017. I can train your dog or just snuggle them and play with them! I am working towards going full time care taker so that I can build my clientele. As of now I work full time at a doggie day care as their manager and dog trainer and will be decreasing my hours as my clients increase! I can travel to your home or bring your best friend to mine! I have a very large fenced in back yard, and a very friendly dog. A few kennels for rest time as well.

About: I received a certification in the Fundamentals of Clicker training and positive reinforcement in a Karen Pryor Academy class. I have experience training puppies to behave correctly with humans and dogs. From the age of 8 to adulthood, I ran my own house sitting business in cities in eastern Kansas, including Lawrence, and Overland Park, KS. I have worked in Veterinary Clinics, Humane Societies and dog boarding facilities. Through experience and classes I know how to interact with our beloved furry friends. I know how dogs communicate, dog breed characteristics, breed groups, developmental stages, play styles, and how to meet their needs. I am determined to help strengthen the bond between you and your dog. I practice a routine when I take care of the dogs in my care. They spend 1/4 time exercising, another 1/4 time playing either with their canine buddies and or with me, 1/4 the time training or learning a new trick, mentally stimulate them, and finally the last 1/4 of time resting. As you know, all dogs crave structure and routine. When they know what to expect, then they know how to behave. My knowledge of dog safety and how to treat all dogs with individual needs will ensure you peace of mind. I have worked with many dog breeds, all sizes, and all ages. I do not have any breed preferences. I currently own three dogs: Skye is a lab mix, a senior ( 8 years old), Westly, a corgi, is a senior ( 11 years old), and Ginny is a lab mix, just a wee puppy (8 months old) Developing meaningful relationships with canines is my passion. I always treat my clients' dogs like they were my own. I’m currently working @ TLC Pet Nursing Hotel Monday-Friday but my hours vary. It just depends on the day. About: Hello!! My name is Maisy. I have worked in various different animal related jobs for the last 5 years, I worked at a doggie daycare/boarding facility and I currently am a dog trainer. I have experience with both puppies and elderly dog as well as cats, reptiles, birds, and farm animals. I also am open to limited contact boarding for people reacting dogs and can do crate rotation for dog reactive dogs away from mine. I work in the evenings 4 days a week so I spend the mornings/afternoons out playing with the pups then they take naps in kennels while I’m at work and we play some more when I get home. I also can move my dogs kennels out of the “dog room” and your dog can just stay in there instead of a kennel if they are more comfortable that way. I have 5 dogs that are very active and friendly. I have a fenced in yard the dogs love to run around in and inside we have lots of toys and comfy places to take naps (which will be put up if there are problems). If I’m not at home or at night all dogs will be kenneled for safety.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs back home my personal favorite were my wiener dogs. I’ll treat them just like my niece or nephew. I’ve been a house sitter looking after dogs for some of my colleagues and family.I also got a two puppers of my own Just leave the dogs schedule and requirements and I’ll do exactly that. I also have a background in medical training as a hospital corpsman in case of any emergencies. I’m a Veteran going to college so My schedule is pretty flexible these days. I have a pretty good routine with my dogs so extra dogs are no problem. My dogs already have a set schedule, they love to play in the backyard, and love walks and pup cones! My house has plenty of rooms and easy access through the doggy door to the back yard. And a lot of room around the house. It’s a pet loving home, some could say the run the house ❣️

About: I am married and have two daughters and a son. They are 12, 8, and 5. I have a wonderful German Shepherd, an Alaskan Klee Kai, and a 20 pound cat named Karen. We love caring for other animals. We have a big yard so there’s plenty of room to run.! I can come to your home or board in ours. We are very active individuals. Both my husband and I are runners. My husband works full-time, but I drive for Uber so I can make my own schedule when needed. We try to stay as active as possible and play with pets in the home. About: I grew up on the family farm surrounded by dogs and cats and all kinds of animals - caring for them was part of my life. That lifelong connection led me to volunteer at a local dog and cat shelter where I've gained even more experience with pets of all temperaments and needs. I treat every animal like a family and I willl give your pet loving care whether it's for a quick walk or an overnight stay. I have a very flexible schedule so I can fully prioritize pet care. My days naturally revolve around the animals I am caring for and I enjoy creating routine that suits their needs. About: I have had dogs in my home for almost my whole life. I have a pug, golden retriever, and a mutt that are all a couple years apart in age. For two years, I volunteered at a humane society where I walked and cared for dogs of all kinds. Senior, puppy, sick, I have a lot of experience and I would love to get more! I’m currently a student at the University of Kansas, so that limits my ability during the weekdays, but I am available to walk or potty about every 4-6 hours on those days. My classes are mainly in the morning from around 9am-1pm. I live in the dorms, so I am unable to do doggy daycare at my place, but I would love to do it at yours! I prioritize respect for your space and routines. Whether your pet prefers potty breaks in a fenced yard or leashed walks, I’ll follow your preferences to keep them comfortable and safe. If needed, I can crate your dog during important work calls or quiet moments, ensuring they feel secure.

About: Located on 10 acres in rural Hoyt, Kansas, Hughes & Hounds provides a spacious safe haven for your furry family members. Our set-up, previously used for dog breeding, includes two (working on three) spacious backyard pens that are the full package deal, including: big shade trees, big water bowls, a doggie igloo and free doggie treats (if you approve of course!). For a small additional fee, you may request a small dog pool in your dog's pen for the duration of their stay, for those hot summer months. Please note that our dog daycare and boarding services are OUTDOOR ONLY and really for farm/outside dogs, bigger dogs, or dogs with high energy. We will accept any sized dog as long as they’re used to staying outside during the day! With two young kids in the home, we will only bring your dogs inside if the owner provides a crate and only if requested for night time (with the exception of severe weather where they would be crated indoors as well). Our schedules are unique in that we are home most days, aside from running errands, and will be able to check on your furry pals often during their week & weekend stays with us. We are flexible and want to make sure your wishes are heard. So if you want us to play with your dogs, send you pictures, give treats - we are here for it. But if your dog prefers to not be bothered too much and is good with the essentials - we are here for that too. You tell us how we can provide the most comfortable atmosphere for your dogs. As far as experience goes, I've been a dog sitter on and off from elementary school through college and have volunteered lots of hours to our local shelter.... I love dogs and they're in good hands! :) This is a NEW and fun business adventure for our small family and we do not take it lightly! Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions-we will respond promptly. I stay at home with my kids and my husband's schedule allows him to be home more days than not so we feel confident that we can take good care of your dog(s) while they stay here. Since we have the space we thought "why not?" when it came to the idea of dog boarding. We were not using our back 3 pens, other than allowing our dogs to roam them. There were some escape artists when the pens were originally used for breeding, so safety features include covered corners so dogs are unable to climb up and out using the corner fencing. Cement was also laid around the boundaries of the pens so digging cannot occur. If your dog likes to jump fences that would be a concern and a reason why we may not be a good fit for you. Of course, plenty of cold, fresh water will always be available to your dog(s) during their stay.
