“Rosie is amazing! She took such good care of my girl and worked much harder than she had to to gain her trust. She sent tons of pictures, had excellent communication and kept me updated the whole week. My dog is not an easy one but she handled her like a pro!”

“Lauren was absolutely fantastic! She kept us well informed throughout our trip and really took the time to get to know our dogs and their spunky personalities. In just a few days, she had already figured out each of their little quirks and handled them like a pro. She met each of our girls where they were and cared for them in a way that made them feel comfortable and loved. When we got home, it was obvious they had been well cared for and were happy and relaxed. It was such a relief knowing they were in such good hands while we were away. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and will absolutely be using Lauren again. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will treat their pets like family!”

“Justine was perfect. She wrote us daily texts and sent pictures of the 4 kitties every single day. They clearly bonded with them. She took care of picking up our mail for us and opened and lowered the blinds every day. She feed them and played with them. She even saved on of our kitties who got stuck in a gluey ant trap! She was affectionate, clever and resourceful. We could not have found anyone better. She made our vacation in London! We missed our 4 kitties so much and would not have been able to enjoy ourselves at all except we knew she would take excellent care of them!!!”

About: I’ve spent the past year and a half immersed in the world of dog training, where I gained hands-on experience and a deep appreciation for the power of positive reinforcement. I’m also certified in K9 CPR, ensuring I’m prepared for any emergency. Today, I’m proud to be a dedicated team member at Woof’s Play and Stay, where my passion for dogs is more than a job—it’s truly my way of life. While my schedule at Woof’s keeps me busy, I always make time to provide dedicated care for your pets. Their well-being is my top priority. I have years of experience working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and abilities—including those who are deaf, blind, or even tripod. Providing them with compassionate, individualized care is always my top priority.
About: I’ve been around animals all my life and feel very comfortable with them. Growing up, I would help with caring for the family pets. I would clean up after them, walk them, feed/water them, kennel train/potty train, and play with them. I’ve grown up with mostly cats and dogs, but I am not opposed to caring for other pets. I am very much of an animal lover but currently don’t have a pet of my own, so I would love to be the caretaker of one of your sweet pets! I am a full-time stay at home mom. My schedule can be very flexible. I have a 1 year old who takes two naps a day which allows me to give appropriate care and attention to the pets that are in my care. I live in two story home with a fenced in backyard. A park is right down the street as well were people walk their dogs all the time. I live in a very pet friendly neighborhood. :)
“Absolutely phenomenal care for my pups and my home. Emily texted and sent pics daily keeping me up to date on everything with the dogs. Highly recommend her to care for your furry family members!”

“Kateline was great to work with before and during our dogs stay. Communication was good and she provided daily updates with pictures. We returned to a very happy and groomed pet. Kateline took the time to brush out all the tangled that occurred during the week of rainy weather. We will definitely use Kateline again.”

About: Hi, I'm Cassie! I grew up with cats, but became a dog person the day I unexpectedly met my pup Rebel 12 years ago! I wasn't planning on getting a dog that day, but I fell in love the moment I saw him, and the rest is history! Our girl, Kimmy (10), joined us in 2020 when a friend needed to rehome her. She's a social butterfly. They love making new friends, so we'd love to host your little one(s), and welcome them into our home. We have a fully-fenced back yard to run and play in. Dogs are allowed on the furniture here, but I'm happy to follow any rules you may have for your dogs if you prefer they not get on furniture. I currently work full-time outside of the house, but can come home over lunch to offer potty breaks if needed. When dog sitting, I try to limit my nighttime plans, so I'll have lots of time to play with your pup(s) after work! Your dog will be safe at my house. I have a 6ft privacy fence around most of the backyard, and a 4ft picket fence along one edge. I never leave the dogs unattended in the yard. I have a large dog crate if needed.

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats for years. Experienced with puppies, seniors, feeding routines, walks, playtime, and providing safe, reliable, loving care for all pets. As a college student-athlete , I have a flexible schedule. I’m available mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends, allowing consistent care, walks, feeding, and quality attention. I follow all care instructions carefully, keep pets supervised, secure doors and leashes, maintain clean spaces, and provide updates so owners feel confident and trusted.
“I appreciate all that Megan does for my two dogs. She spent the week with them. She let me know one had allergies acting up and made sure my dog was getting allergy meds while I was away. Some how she’s managed to get some good pics with both dogs facing the camera, something that isn’t easy to do. I will continue to use Megan to watch my pups. I highly recommend her. You’ll be glad you’ve booked her for your next trip.”

“We couldn't be more happy with the excellent care of our dogs and our home during Keegan's first dog sitting with us. The dogs loved her from the minute they met. We will be booking with Keegan again.”

“Our dogs seemed so happy bin the pictures and they sent daily pictures of all 4 of our fur babies! They came a day early to meet our dogs so they would be more familiar to them. Definitely recommend!!”

About: I have been an active foster parent at a local dog rescue for 5 years. I have fostered more than 10 dogs since volunteering, 2 of which were newborn puppies. I specialize in working with dogs that have anxiety issues. I am currently working full-time so my availability during the week is limited to the evening drop-in visits. My weekends are free to offer reliable sit-in and overnight pet care for your furry friend. I have been trained in Advanced Animal Handling through a local shelter and foster dogs regularly through a local rescue. I have experience working with a number of different pet personalities.

About: My son and I regularly help friends and neighbors by walking their dogs, cats and caring for pets while they are away. We provide reliable, family-based care and treat every pet like our own. We follow routines closely, give pets plenty of attention and exercise, and keep owners updated for peace of mind. We’re comfortable with both energetic dogs and calmer pets, and always focus on safety, consistency, and genuine care. We’re primarily available on weekends when my son and I can fully focus on pet care. Weekday availability is limited due to school and work. Safety and trust are our top priorities. We follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding, exercise, and any specific instructions, to keep them comfortable and stress-free. In our home, pets are supervised at all times and introduced carefully since we have a pet. In clients’ homes, we respect their space and ensure pets are secure, safe, and well cared for.
About: Hey, I’m Alexis! I’m rather active and would love bringing your fur baby on walks/runs!! I don’t mind coming to check-in to play with, and provide your fur baby with food & water when you need the extra help! I don’t mind housesitting your pet(s) while you’re away. I do not provide doggy daycare, however I do allow you pet (singular) to stay the night at my place for x amt. of nights when you need it. You should be aware if your pet is coming over to my home, that I have an 8mo. old puppy named Lilo (American Eskimo) who loves to hang out and socialize with other animals (I do not allow animals over 15lbs to stay in my home due to my own puppy who is rather small). Thank you for taking your time to read this, and I hope to be of best help to you! If not, I wish you luck in finding a sitter that can! ~ Alexis

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Topeka on Rover is $38.85 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Topeka walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Topeka maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Topeka choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Topeka. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 92% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
