I think it's important to provide pet care that is tailored to a pet's needs as much as possible. It's a positive that I'm a retired nurse so the pets I watch aren't left alone all day. I'm extremely careful with the dogs in my care because I hear all too often how accidents happen when a door or gate is left open and a four legged family member runs off. When I say I'll love your dog as much as my own I mean it but I also never lose sight as to how important safety and security are. I'm retired and my days aren't interrupted by a full or part-time job. When I do leave the house, pets are not left alone more than four hours. My is home situated in the middle of a neighborhood so proximity to a busy street isn't an issue. I eliminate access to the front door by a doggie gate in place before access to the entryway. I have a fenced in backyard. As added security, if someone such as lawn maintenance or pest control companies have been in the yard, I always double check they have closed the gate. Dogs are never left unattended in my yard as another layer to ensuring your dog has a safe environment. I can stimulate your dog by taking him/her on a neighborhood walk. We have a small park down the street where we can watch children at play or the geese by the pond. My dogs love to get in their doggie seats which are belted in to my golf cart and go for a short ride in the neighborhood. If okay with you, its fun for them to see what's going on in the neighborhood while their hair blows in the wind. While my dogs enjoy these things, they are also happy just chilling at home. If you prefer this environment that can be provided also. If your dog has a playful spirit and loves to run and catch ball, I've got the perfect backyard for playtime. I love to send text messages and photos of your pet several times a day but I particularly love to have a little "photoshoot" trying to capture that special shot you might want to blow up and keep.
