“Ava was absolutely fantastic. She was so intentional with each of our pets and made sure they were well taken care of while we were gone! She sent lots of updates, photos, and videos which we loved. She made sure our big dog had lots of exercise and play time to help her feel calm in our absence. We would definitely use her again and recommend her to anyone!”

“Shannon was awesome! Sent lots of pictures and updates of our pup! We came back to the house exactly as we left it and a very happy pup! Will definitely be rebooking in the future! Thank you!!!!”

“Asheley was amazing with our senior dog and cats. Our dog got sick a few days into our trip and she was great about sending updates and making sure she was ok (and cleaning up a huge mess!). I would definitely recommend using her.”

“Sarah was absolutely amazing! She kept us updated the entire time we were gone and did an amazing job with our dogs. We will absolutely be going through Sarah for future dog sitting!”

“We are blessed beyond measure to have Susie to care for our sweet and aging Jezzabelle. Leaving her at almost 17 years old to go on vacation is very difficult emotionally but knowing she is in Susie’s care allows us to relax and enjoy our time away. Susie is the best!!”

About: Ever since I was little, I loved looking after animals big or small. I was the neighborhood kid to call if there was a need for pet care. I started at 10 doing as little as picking up poo from yards to growing up and staying over if the owner was out of town! I have experience with dogs, cats and yes fish at almost every stage of life. I have a long list of clients who would recommend me to look after your furry friend!! I am a part time employee at the moment so I have flexibility in my hours! Depending on the service needed I can make it work along with my schedule. I will be a local college student starting up in August but will continue to have an open schedule! I have a dog of my own and she is one of my top priority’s! When I stay at a clients home I ensure their furry friends have plenty of play and outdoor time. Walks are a non negotiable with my dog so I am very good with taking clients dogs out multiple times a day! Cats have the same priority, I ensure they have play time if that is up their alley or just a couch buddy! Every animal is different so I adjust accordingly!!
“Leah was fabulous! She was so patient and willing to work with my feisty puppy who just turned a year old. With her background she was gracious with his anxiety and they connected beautifully!!! Leah kept me in the loop and sent great pictures so I could be worry-free and enjoy my trip. I will definitely use Leah’s services again and again!!”

“Anita was AMAZING!!! Not only did she take excellent care of our stubborn furry baby, she kept watch over our home and we returned to a clean and happy house!! Peace of mind is what you’ll get by hiring her. We cannot recommend her enough. ???”

“I can’t recommend Austin enough! He sent regular updates, communicated clearly, and was really tuned in to how Bear was feeling. I felt totally at ease knowing Bear was in such thoughtful hands. I came home to a happy, relaxed pup—and I’ll definitely be booking again!”

“Our experience with Rebecca was excellent. We needed to leave our dog for about 12 days while we went on a trip for our wedding anniversary. Our dog Coco tends to cry and not eat when we are gone. The trip we made earlier in June, the Vet had to give her something to calm her. We decided it would be better if Coco could stay home while we were gone. It would make her more secure being in her own bed and home. Thanks to Rebecca's excellent care and loving, Coco did wonderfully while we were gone. This is actually the first time we have been gone more than a week and Coco did not lose weight while we were gone. I would high recommend Rebecca for house sitting your dog. We had a wonderful trip thanks to her great care of Coco. She also so sent us pictures and emails letting us know how Coco was doing while we were away. Thanks so much!”

“Simply wonderful. Courtney took great care of our Great Dane, Marty— even took care of things we forgot to tell her! She stayed at our house and it was such a comfort knowing she was there with our big guy. Would recommend Courtney to anyone needing her pet sitting services. Exceptional!”

Susie was absolutely amazing! She took such great care of our pets and truly went above and beyond while we were away. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were being loved on and cared for as if they were her own. She kept us updated, was incredibly reliable, and paid attention to all the little details. When we got home, our pets were happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for. It's not easy to leave your animals behind, but Susie made the whole experience stress-free.

Maggie is a responsible, communicative, sweet, attentive dog sitter! She’s great to work with and follows through on what she promises. Miller loves her and she is my pick for anytime I need someone to take care of my pup! I think the house looked better when I came back than when I left. I recommend her to anyone who wants their pet and house taken care of.

Rienna was an amazing dog sitter and house guest while we were out of town! Our dogs are older and have their individual needs from daily medication, daily diapers and non slip socks and she was so patient and caring with them. She went above and beyond and would hire her again and again!

Madi took such great care of our pup while we were away! Our travel plans happened to fall during a snow storm rare for this area and Madi was super flexible working with us as plans were ever changing. It made us feel so much better knowing she’d make sure he was taken care of if we couldn’t get back as planned!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Thompson's Station walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Thompson's Station maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Thompson's Station choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
